Whoa! Quarterbacks for 2022 are Drying Up!
Charles Fischer replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
True, and Ashford could be that long-term project I spoke of....kind of how Dennis Dixon was as a Grey-Shirt for Oregon. Dixon leaving Huskies on the ground in the epic game in Seattle in Storm-Trooper uniforms! -

Whoa! Quarterbacks for 2022 are Drying Up!
Charles Fischer replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Well, I am concerned about an unlikely outcome...such as Ty Thompson becoming the starter by season's end? That would clear-out the QB room with transfers, and thus this 2022 QB could now become quite important... -
I don't like the looks of this for Oregon as four of the top five QBs for 2022 have already verbally committed? Some good discussion and makes me wonder if 2022 isn't the year of taking a "project," since we have a stacked QB room already? It uses 247Sports rankings, (of which are flawed over the longer term, IMHO) but it still has Oregon in a good place. Interesting to see the other comparisons too... Pac-12 Football: Ranking the Rosters for 2021 by Athlon Sports

So Close For The Lady Ducks, Lose To Stanford 63-61
Charles Fischer replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
OREGON ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2021 EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon rallied back from a double-digit deficit and led in the final two minutes Monday against No. 6 Stanford, but the Cardinal scored the final five points of the game to beat the No. 13 Ducks in Matthew Knight Arena, 63-61. The Ducks took a 56-51 lead with 3:40 to play on a three-pointer by Jaz Shelley, one of six for Oregon in the second half. A free throw by Taylor Mikesell put the Ducks up 61-58 with 1:46 left, but Stanford senior Kiana Williams tied it with a three-pointer and freshman post Cameron Brink hit go-ahead free throws with 28 seconds left. Oregon had two chances to win it out of timeouts in the remaining moments but couldn't convert. "We played hard enough and well enough to win the game, and we didn't," UO coach Kelly Graves said. "So I know we're disappointed. But at the same time, I'm proud of the team for the fight we showed. We played hard for four quarters; it just didn't go our way." "Sedona (Prince) set a great screen, I got a good look — definitely gotta knock that down," Mikesell said of her miss with 19 seconds left. "It felt great. Next time." Who Stood Out: Paopao had an outstanding overall game with 11 points on 3-of-5 three-point shooting, nine rebounds and four assists. She scored 11 of her points in the first half, about the only consistent producer on offense while Oregon was falling into that 33-18 hole. Mikesell led the Ducks with 13 points and Sabally added 12 points with seven rebounds. Shelley hit two three-pointers, her first game with multiple made threes since New Year's Day. What It Means: On one hand, the Ducks seem to be taking their lumps recently, having lost five of their last nine games. On the other hand, two of those losses were to the No. 6 Cardinal, two were to No. 10 Arizona and the other was to No. 8 UCLA. "We're right there," Graves said. "Stanford is a legitimate championship game contender. They really are. We're used to playing that type of team. So when we get to the NCAA Tournament, we'll have seen everything, and played against the best." Notable: Freshman guard Maddie Scherr played three minutes after missing the previous two games while in COVID-19 protocols. … Junior guard Taylor Chavez also was on hand after also missing two games due to the protocols, but she was on the bench in street clothes. --During halftime of the ESPN telecast Monday night, the NCAA Tournament selection committee released its first top-16 ranking of the season. Oregon was No. 11 overall, which would translate into a No. 3 seed in an NCAA Tournament region. Stanford was No. 3 overall, Arizona was No. 8 and UCLA was No. 9. Up Next: The Ducks play at UCLA on Friday (5 p.m., Pac-12 Network). -

I completely agree and you are the first I've seen anywhere point that out. It is a shame that Cristobal does not take it to heart.... As it turns out....I do not like the all-green, but I acknowledge our record in them. I still like this... -
There is so much more to his story than we knew, and since it is a very slow news day--take the time to enjoy reading it. "...from the streets of Montreal to rural Quebec, and on to the dusty desert of New Mexico, the frozen wilds of Wyoming and the verdant green of Oregon." “You couldn’t block his shot,” says Dillon Brooks. “And he was really hard to score on. And he never got tired. He wasn’t like a normal human.” WILDEST DREAMS by Sportsnet BigReads

Whew! A brutal article, but so true and while I do not like the thought of USC and Washington being better--you are right, Ryan. Well done and THANKS.

Yep....I am looking to add the Oregon Football Repository up in the menu on the black header, as I agree--this is a good idea. For now all the components (such as the depth chart) of the Repository are right here.... Ignoring it would be.....madness!

Wow. I had no idea, and am quite sorry to have not given you attribution credit. You see, I've been hosed a number of times on some pretty big discoveries and contributions to Oregon football and not credited, even when everyone at the time knew where the information came from. That is really well done, and I salute your tech skills. Thank you for creating it, and now that we know it was you...when JTT commits--you can finish it. My congrats again--and thanks from the community. -

This is NOT the Twilight Zone...

OMIGOSH...the "reply" button has disappeared! It is actually still there, but you have to find it and press it to the right of the "Delete" button! More to come...I do like that medium green, but still gotta try them all (I have about 40 shades to try) and nailing the precise HTML color code can be a trick. Gosh I love this shade of green, but it is too dark with a black border as we have.... -
You may notice test posts appearing and disappearing in threads, the background picture being changed and/or brought back and the top pinned topic turning different shades of green. We are experimenting with a ton of stuff and this is the process you go through with a new forum. (Learn how the darn thing works and look at the options.) When we bring the FishDuck Feed into play at a later date...I want the top Pinned Topic to be a shade of green to make it stand-out and easy to find for the new people visiting the forum. Each day will have it's own Post of Oregon article links pinned at the top, and when the day passes--it is unpinned, turns to white or yellow and floats on down into the recent topics while the new day has a Pinned Topic at the top (in green) of that day's article links. So much to do... Epic cut from 30 years ago....good stuff is good stuff no matter the age.

Husky Basketball Is BAD and JUST GETTING WORSE
Charles Fischer replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It also goes to show how good college basketball players are as athletes; we barely beat UW in Seattle, and while they have lost so many--those are still amazing athletes. Now, back to the ridicule! -

The Sunday morning paper in Eugene had an article about the process of the territory becoming the state of Oregon, since it was recognized on February 14, 1859. An interesting tidbit was how the state politicians decided to move the location of the state/territorial capital from Salem to Corvallis in 1855, but the federal government refused to recognize the change. So both houses convened in Corvallis and promptly voted to move the capital back to Salem. Can't say I blame them! Back to Salem!

RatherBe's Very Cool Football Recruiting Map...

It really drives home the concept of Oregon recruiting nationally, and doing so quite well. Mario has offset the issue of being geographically remote from the major population and recruit centers like no other coach...
