  1. OREGON ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / MONDAY, JANUARY 18, 2020 EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon men’s basketball program has been cleared to resume all team-related activities, head coach Dana Altman announced on Monday. “The health and safety of our student-athletes is always our top priority, and we are grateful to our medical team for guiding us through this process,” said Altman. “We are resuming activities today and will continue following all COVID-related protocols.” No. 21 Oregon is scheduled to host Oregon State Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (Pac-12 Network). Three games were postponed during the Ducks’ pause of activities due to COVID-19 protocols. The UCLA game scheduled for Tuesday at Matthew Knight Arena has been moved to Feb. 1 in Los Angeles (2 p.m., ESPN2). Last week’s home games against Arizona State and Arizona were also postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.
  2. I usually save this for "Husky Week" in the fall, but Washington has won a total of eight National Championships, (compared to Oregon's 33) and as Haywarduck noted, none among the men. Of course they howl about their Mens Rowing Championships, but this is not an NCAA sanctioned sport; it is a club sport. If we are going to count non-NCAA sanctioned sports, then Oregon gets to count their club National Championships in Tumbling, Frisbee Golf and Bass Fishing. (For real!)
  3. Interesting article that has good information, but I really disagree with the ranking given to the defensive line. I felt it was much worse than their ranking, and had they played to their potential...it would have taken pressure off the newbie linebackers and secondary. They played much better in 2019, IMHO....
  4. And one of those fired, Jeremy Pruitt, was one of our DC candidates? Yikes... Boy the 'Vols have become a Tire-Fire over the years!
  5. This is really superb research and a highly important point going forward in the conference. Do hang onto this as I'll bet it will be handy to refer to in the future...
  6. Both are good rankings for this juncture in the season, and I certainly believe both will be moving up! Can't wait for Will Richardson to return!
  7. Kenjon Barner also is a fav... One of my favorite photos ever due to the content and the richness of color in the background...and that we won that game!
  8. Good point, as Oregon did not lose a single verbal in the best class ever; those who said they would sign before the Bowl game still did at signing date.
  9. It is a shame, but we are starting over at QB next season and that really hurts the upside of the team due to the severe learning curve of actual game action. The coaches will have to go through quite a process to find out who can play. I know that many of us like Anthony Brown, but he had a receiver open at the goal line....and over-threw him. We need someone who can get the job done for certain, or has the obvious upside to warrant the time, patience and errors.
  10. So many great players to choose from, and Darron Thomas emerges for me as a leading candidate....
  11. Finding out now that Shough is not the guy is better than finding out in the fall of 2021, so it was good to flush out weakness. If Oregon plays well next year and does well in the post-season....all is forgotten about the Iowa State game. So that perception is yet on hold, as I see it. But long after this all passes....Oregon is still the Pac-12 Champion for 2020 by beating the best that the South Division had, and nobody can deny or take that from us. Getting that championship is worth it in the end...
  12. Every year is make or break for someone in football. Whether it is a head coach on the hot seat, a QB with a chance to start, or a veteran skill position player trying to hold off someone younger and more talented, every year brings a plethora of storylines for every team. With the benefit of hindsight we can now ... Read the full article here...
  13. OK...you have a sense of humor that I like already!
  14. Completely agree; I wonder how Charger fans feel?
  15. I don't know which is better...celebrating Oregon on top or Washington looking up at us! I......AM.....Relevant!
  16. Very cool--thanks for finding that! Pretty special...
  17. Great example of a player having a career night and hard to stop...as the Ducks had versus UCLA. Thanks for reminding us of the Graves connection--you have to be happy for her. (Although that will help her recruiting and make the conference even tougher?)
  18. Yep. Our rules state that we can be critical of coaches and players for decisions and performance, but we cannot get personal. In the rules as No. 26 is where I state it...
  19. Wow...talk about stunners! Not something anyone would have predicted...by a mile!
  20. Every time this happens...I think of that day in Autzen.
  21. I don't know why...but I don't think we have much of a chance on this one. Gut feel...
  22. Some more information about the new candidates is in this article.
  23. C'mon....you gotta admit this is funny! Another reason I love Puddles...
  24. I know that many are not a fan of John, but he does bring up some great points about the issues the conference and CFB faces. This is a very interesting article about a former Duck selling all his gear to make some money--and other fallout ramifications. Drayton Carlberg (No. 90) created this fumble against Cal...and recently has sold the jersey he is wearing!
