Last year was the first Spring Game ever for me that ALL four QBs looked good. Now I see that this year we have FIVE QBs who played well this year? Says something about the coaches...

Ducks in the Hunt after 36 Holes in Baltimore BALTIMORE – The Oregon men’s golf team shot battled tough winds to climb into second place after two rounds at the Big Ten Championships. The Ducks moved two spots up the leaderboard after firing a 1-under 279 for the second day in a row at Baltimore Country Club and will enter Sunday’s final round with a shot at the Big Ten Title. Illinois leads the field at 8 under, six strokes ahead of Oregon. “We played really well today,” head coach Casey Martin said. “It was a tough finish once again, it got super windy at the end, but we have a chance tomorrow. It’s going to take some great golf but we have a chance.” Jay Gould-Healy and Greyson Leach continued to lead the Ducks in the second round. The pair is tied for third individually at 4 under after Leach turned in his second flawless scorecard in as many rounds and Gould-Healy shot in the red for the second day in a row. Omar Morales from UCLA leads the field at 7 under. How It Happened Teeing off on No. 1, Gould-Healy opened his round with a bogey but made three birdies before the turn. He played his back nine 1 over with two bogeys and a birdie to finish the day with a 1-under 69. Jay Gould-Healy Leach turned in an almost identical scorecard on Saturday as he did on Friday, finishing 2 under with 16 pars and two birdies. He capitalized on the par-4 5th and the par-5 12th to move into the top three. Aiden Krafft shot in the red for the first time in Baltimore, finishing with a 1-under 69. The junior was even at the turn after answering a bogey with a birdie. Sitting at 1 over through 14 holes, Krafft made birdie on two of his last four, including No. 18, to move into a tie for 22nd place. In the first half of the seventh inning....Ryan Featherston replaced Oregon starter Collin Clarke and retired the Oregon State side. This will be a very memorable game for Clarke, as getting your MoJo back against the No. 3 team in the nation will help his confidence the rest of the season. What a great day for him!

13-1 Ducks after six innings! Oh darn...Beavis got a run, but Oregon got it back and more! Anson Aroz got hit by a pitch, and then The Pride of Springfield, Maddox Molony, hit a two-run home run! But wait! The Ducks are not done pounding on Oregon State, as Burke-Lee Mabeus got a hit, and then Ryan Cooney got one. They advanced to second and third on a wild pitch, with Carter Garate zinging down the first base line to score both of them! The crowd is going crazy at PK Park, and the dancing is just a bit too much for all those dressed in prison attire. (Orange)

9-0 Ducks after five innings! If I am dreaming...don't wake me up! Beavis can't hit Oregon's Collin Clarke, and cannot stop our offense to the glee of a full PK Park today. Ryan Cooney gets another hit to get on base, and then Mason Neville hits his 21st homer of the season, as every home run sets a new season record in Eugene. Whew!

The Oregon offense is flying! Dominic Hellman has improved SO MUCH as a batter, and will make a base hit when his HR ball is not there. He got on base with a nice single, and then Jacob Walsh got a low ball from the sidewinder Oregon State pitcher that he drove up and OUT of PK Park for a two-run DINGER! Then Drew Smith hits a triple, and Maddox Molony hits a base-knock that drives him him. This is fun!

7-0 Ducks after four innings. Pinch me! It is a FANTASTIC start to this game as Collin Clarke has got Beavis muttering... Great pitching creates great plays!

4-0 Ducks after three innings, as Oregon's Collin Clarke looks confident against Oregon State, and seems to be getting his control back thus far. Great drop-ball, and slider that makes his fast ball tougher...

4-0 Ducks after two innings, as Oregon's Collin Clarke has held Oregon State down, while the good-guys see their offense flourish to start the game. Meanwhile the Beavis pitcher was self-destructing with two walks and plinking a batter. Then Drew Smith hit a superb single up the middle to score two Ducks!

I stand corrected, as he is now in at the end of the first quarter for a 10 yard game on a great little shimmy…

No Makhi Hughes at RB today?

Touchdown already! I look forward to breaking that play down, as technically… There was significant holding by Matthew Bedford, on the play and it was consequential.

The original weather forecast earlier in the week was for a good chance of rain, but it looks cloudy with the sun breaking through. The odds of rain have dropped almost zero...good!

The topic that has made more people leave this forum, more people to get banned off this forum, the topic that actually made me shut the forum down for four days in the past...the topic that I've spent HOURS on the phone with tons of people, HOURS writing emails and personal messages...and taken a chunk of my life and soul that I won't get back is... Anything related to Coach Deion Sanders...and here we go again. There is a massive difference in culture, people, and how each side interprets things, and neither side is going to understand the other. I am not trying anymore, but when I see anything about Coach Sanders...I just groan. How many people are we going to lose off the forum this time? I have already edited some of the posts about it--and I am telling everyone to please avoid the subject. The guy is in the Big-12 now....leave him there!

Ducks Open Rivalry Series With a Win EUGENE, Ore. — Nights like Friday prove why, despite riding a roller coaster at times this season, the sky remains the limit for Oregon baseball. Playing their in-state rival at a sold-out PK Park, the No. 13 Ducks got a strong start from Grayson Grinsell, clean defense, clutch hits from two of the most prolific home-run hitters in school history and shutout relief pitching to beat No. 3 Oregon State, 4-2. Portland native Ryan Cooney had the go-ahead RBI, a two-run double in the fourth inning as the Ducks improved to 10-1 in weekend series openers this season. Oregon (28-12) bounced back from a deflating loss Tuesday to Portland by out-executing the Beavers on Friday. “It’s just another game; it’s also an important win that we needed,” Cooney said. “But it's also another game at the same time. (We just need to) stick to our process, not change anything — not get too big with our swings, and pitching-wise just continue what we're doing.” The UO bullpen has been a factor in the Ducks’ inconsistency in recent weeks. But Ian Umlandt, Cole Stokes and Seth Mattox combined for two shutout innings in relief of Grinsell on Friday, a much-needed boost of confidence. “I've said it before, the group I coach, obviously we've got a good record — like, a really good record,” UO coach Mark Wasikowski said. “But they still feel like they're way better than what we've shown on a consistent basis. You've got to put a complete product together on a consistent basis for us to be able to make that claim. And so until we can show that on a regular basis, people are going to question it — and they’ve got a right to. But the locker room feels like they got a lot more in it, I can tell you that much.” How It Happened: Grinsell (7-1) continued to excel as Oregon’s Friday night guy, allowing only two runs in the third on his way to a seven-inning gem. He hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in a start since Feb. 28, extending that streak Friday despite allowing the two runs that gave Oregon State an early lead. Grayson Grinsell was locked into this game... “You’ll see guys get really rattled when they struggle or whatever, give up a couple of runs,” Wasikowski said. “Grayson didn’t. He got tougher.” His offense helped. Mason Neville extended his UO single-season record to 20 home runs with a solo shot in the bottom of the third, answering OSU’s early rally. The Ducks took the lead in the fourth, with a boost from their coaching staff. After Anson Aroz worked a one-out walk, he stole second. Burke-Lee Mabeus then walked with two out, and a double steal put both runners in scoring position. Cooney brought both in with a double into the left-field corner. “I think if you watch the tape back and you see those stolen bases, that's all on (the coaching staff),” Cooney said. “They prepared really well, with the shifts that those guys were putting out there and how to beat him. And I think that's why it put me in a good position in that situation, specifically.” Grinsell faced the minimum over his final four innings, thanks in part to a double play in the top of the fourth, and a runner he picked off at second in the fifth. When he struck out back-to-back hitters to end the seventh, he bounded off the mound and let loose with a shout to celebrate the end of a 117-pitch effort. Jacob Walsh savors it with the team.... At that point Oregon was clinging to a 3-2 lead. Two batters later, UO career home run leader Jacob Walsh made it 4-2 with a solo shot, homer No. 52 of his career. “I tried to control my emotions throughout the outing, tried not to get too high and too low,” Grinsell said. “But coming out in the seventh, I knew that was probably my last inning, so I kind of let it loose. And yeah, I think it got the dugout a little bit fired up and carried the momentum with ‘Dub’s’ home run.” Umlandt, who has made four midweek starts this season, got the first two outs of the eighth before allowing two baserunners. Stokes then struck out the last batter of the inning, and Mattox — who took the loss Tuesday against Portland — pitched around a two-out double in the ninth for his second save of the year. “I think our back end is really coming around,” Mattox said. “Obviously with Stokes, and having Ian back there now not just as a midweek guy, I think it's coming together. We know who our go-to guys are in big situations.” This Beaver can't outrun the throw from Ryan Cooney... Friday, there were a bunch of go-to guys who came through in a bunch of go-to situations. The key, the Ducks know, will be doing it again Saturday. Notable: Third baseman Carter Garate made his 100th consecutive start for the Ducks. … Oregon has won three straight in the rivalry series, and has a 43-42 record in games played in Eugene. … The Ducks improved to 3-1 against top-10 opponents this season.
