Ohio State Fans: "I Can See Fear in Their Buckeyes"

"I've seen this coming for a while. Oregon is no longer all flash and dash. They are now a hard nosed physical team on both sides of the ball. They are well coached and their recruiting is second to none, often beating Osu head to head for big time players. The roles have switched. It's now Osu who is all flash and dash. It's Osu who shrinks after getting punched in the mouth in big games. The 2021 loss to them at home was no fluke. It is what it is." "That Dude is an assassin. He's coming for your neck. He's coaching every game like it's his last. I'd love to beat him in a rematch. I'd also love to have him as a head coach. Passion, toughness, brains...." -
From one their forums...whew! ---------------------------------------------------- Whether it is 007/James Bond, Batman or Indiana Jones series had a different villain every film. Think the Joker, the Penguin, the Riddler, etc. And with TOSU it's much the same when it comes to opposing head coaches who prove to be nuisance for our head coaches both on the field and on the recruiting trail. For Tressel it was Pete Carroll and Urban Meyer. For Urban Meyer it was Nick Saban and Dabo Swinney. And with Ryan Day there haven't been too many. Of course when he got here up until last season it was still Nick Saban and to a lesser extent Kirby Smart. But now I think the guy who has to be watched most is Danny Boy Lanning. Lanning is trying to become that next generation Buckeye killer. And unfortunately whoever the head coach is here continues to allow another rival head coach to rise up and be a stiff competitor to him. Again both on the field and off. I also get the sense that Day doesn't like Lanning all that much similar to how he didn't like Jim Harbaugh and also Dabo. Lanning is on the verge of stripping TOSU's entire '25 elite DB class sans Sanchez. First he got Dorian Brew to commit, then Trey McNutt---two who were considered Buckeye leans at one point esp Brew. Now he's working on Offord. Not to mention he nabbed one other Buckeye lean in Jordon Davis, and got a surprise commit from #1 WR Dekorian Moore. This is why it was important TOSU won that game---to get those Ohio-based and other recruits to flip back this way with a win. And it had to be done before the early Signing Day in December. Because even if you get the rematch with the Ducks in the B1G title game, that comes either right before or just afterwards. Either way TOSU has another enemy it must squash and this time let's hope we do because Tressel never squashed Carroll or Meyer and Meyer never squashed Dabo or Saban in full. Now Day has to be tasked with making sure Lanning does not become a problem long term.

My Duck-Buddies...I had to make a special thread for this, as we do not see it often! Not for a dozen years? ---------------------------------------------------------- Ducks Ascend to No. 1 in National Rankings EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon football team took over the No. 1 spot in both the Associated Press and USA Today coaches polls on Sunday, earning the top national ranking for the first time since 2012. Oregon earned 51 of 53 first-place votes in the coaches poll, and 59 of 61 first-place votes in the AP poll. The Ducks are one of three Big Ten teams in the top five along with No. 3 Penn State and No. 4 Ohio State, and Indiana (No. 13) and Illinois (No. 20) give the conference five teams in the top 20. It is the 10th time in program history that Oregon has been No. 1 in the coaches poll, and ninth time in the AP poll. UO was last No. 1 in both polls on Nov. 11, 2012, and all of the Ducks' previous No. 1 rankings came during the 2010 season. Oregon is 6-1 all-time as the nation's No. 1 ranked team, with its lone loss coming in overtime to No. 14 Stanford on Nov. 7, 2012. The No. 1 Ducks improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in Big Ten play on Friday with a 35-0 win at Purdue, securing the program's first shutout since 2012 and first on the road since 1992. UO is off to a 7-0 start for the first time since 2013 and sixth time in program history. Oregon is one of 10 remaining undefeated teams in the nation, and one of three in the Big Ten along with Penn State and Indiana. UO owns a pair of top-20 wins this season, with victories over No. 4 Ohio State and No. 17 Boise State. The Ducks will return home to Autzen Stadium this Saturday (Oct. 26) to host No. 20 Illinois in a top-20 matchup at 12:30 p.m. PT (CBS).
