  1. The Athletic did an article about how there are 30 teams in week nine that still have a shot at the Playoffs. That interest generated is great for the teams, and the sport.
  2. OK...I loved this, but the reference is a little dated for many here....isn't it? TV viewers become outraged as football game is cut off to air “Heidi” WWW.HISTORY.COM On November 17, 1968, the Oakland Raiders score two touchdowns in nine seconds to beat the New York Jets—and no one sees it, because they’re watching the movie Heidi instead... I never understood it all, since I tuned in to watch Heidi.....
  3. Kind of like Beavis, now?
  4. I don't think DeBoer got stupid overnight. He is a great coach, and I'm glad he's out of our conference. He'll turn it around...
  5. USC lost two games on non-calls that gave opponents touchdowns, as did the non-call on Bassa's interception in the Buckeye's first drive. This is serious stuff that they do not appear to be interested in correcting. We are being set up to be...
  6. Why would anyone doubt these guys? I still want to know...who is Larry, Curley, and Moe?
  7. Darren...I love your writing and love to pile on when it is USC...
  8. I have watched Illinois play twice, and while they have a good team, they are not a great team. By their own admission, they have lightweight defensive tackles at 270 lbs. vs. 329 and 320 for Oregon. (That alone helps our running game enormously) They DO have some good edge-rushers, but I think Conerly/Cornelius will largely keep them in check. Their run-blocking is good, but their receivers are going to seem pedestrian for our DBs compared to Ohio State's. Their QB is a good runner, but I expect Devon Jackson to be assigned to him as a spy, and with his speed--the QB is not going far. We will pack the box with eight defenders, and go one-on-one with their WRs with our DBs, and thus I do not see their offense outscoring OBD at Autzen. My prediction score will be on Friday.... Of course I have been known to miscalculate....
  9. I do not discount your concerns based upon the facts, but in my case--I have a belief that at the end of the season and in the Playoffs--Oregon will make the plays on offense when they are needed. Again, I do not believe we have seen much of the offense, compared to what is to come. By contrast, I recall how Dilly completely blew up Stanford early in the 2022 season with a new play series and constraints. I do not believe we would see the same kind of thing this year until later in the season, and that absence skews the stats. Or I can just believe....
  10. Drake..,that is an interesting observation about human nature; we’re never happy. We can be 7-0, defeated a No. 2 team, and STILL not be happy. I remember it during the Chip Kelly days as well, that people were nitpicking about different items. They felt could be better in 2010 when we were on a national championship game appearance path. ”We’re not taking any time off the clock!” I am not saying this to project superiority, because I am just as guilty of it at times as everybody. This is just the way it is… but it is fascinating!
  11. The difference is, I gave reasons why, and how it all makes sense within Dan Lanning’s plan. So not scoring as much is by design, and a good thing, and not something for us to be concerned about yet. If I sensed we genuinely had a problem, I would say so. But after tracking our offenses for a dozen years, I can see a very distinct pattern that is different from prior years, and different from last year with the same offensive coordinator. Or we can disagree. No sweat.
  12. Please read... Oregon’s Secret That Nobody Talks About... | FishDuck FISHDUCK.COM There has been so much written about Oregon football in the last couple of days, yet I sense there is a major element to the remainder of the season that…
  13. Now THIS is a Fong-Bomb....wow!
  14. From an article last week on 247: "Jahlil Florence is also a candidate to potentially use this season as a redshirt, but still play. That would mean getting Florence on the field in November for four games and whatever comes after that. Remember, players can redshirt, play in four regular season games, and then be available for playoffs or conference title games. Theoretically, Florence could end up playing in nine games for Oregon and still redshirt." Pretty wild!
  15. Painful and deserved...
