I cannot hardly believe it, as I'm starting to feel sorry for Oregon State. Imagine that coming from someone who has truly danced-on-their-grave, and had a ton of fun at their expense. Stealing 30 million from Oregon over the next ten years set me off, but damn...they are now circling the bottom of the toilet bowl. You saw how they got killed by Cal, when that has never happened like that before. The talent gap between a G-5 team, and an ACC team has already become apparent. But did you see their schedule next year? Sam Houston, Appalachian State, the Cougars twice...yikes. But in 2026 they move up in their schedule to play....former Mountain West teams. Whew! I get it, they've settled into their 'niche, as they play on the CW for an audience of 400,000 while we play on a major network to four million and more. Someone on the forum wrote it best..."it just gets sadder and sadder." Yep.

Ryan Day's Seat is Getting HOT at Ohio State
Charles Fischer replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
First of all, isn't he acting as many of their fans do? Projecting to the base? Second, the injuries on the offensive line are serious; picture we lose Conerly for the season, and the backup is not very good. He gets hurt and now you are down to an inexperienced sophomore? That is what the Buckeyes have experienced, thus injuries are not Day's fault. The left side was their strong side, as the right side was weak and gave up sacks before playing us. Thus their running game has dropped off, and protecting the passer is difficult. Penn State and Indiana both have good edge rushers, thus my wish of playing someone different in the B1G Championship game might come to pass. B1G Officiating: Three Blown Calls in ONE Game?

I was shouting at this one immediately after it happened... -
This is just with examples with Oregon, and it did not cost us. Check the Nebraska-Ohio State thread that 30Duck started, and the FOUR blown calls in that game against Nebraska. This is getting serious...

We all look back at the days with Chip as certainly a "glory" era, and helped us get to where we are. Now I recognize that Chip has never come close to what he did at Oregon since he left, but they made a comparison that shook me for a moment. They said that..."after 34 games of being coach at Oregon, Lanning has equaled what Chip did in his first 34 games."

Oregon's SURPRISE B1G Tour Continues...
Charles Fischer replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
What is interesting is how Purdue drove up and down the field running the ball, but no points. Illinois got their only touchdown against the reserves. This is the sixth game in eight where the defense gave up 14 points or less! -
The final score was 38-9, and PittDuck predicted 38-10 for only one total point off! That is pretty darn good, and the closest we've had in a while. Way to go PittDuck! Two others were right there only being two total points off in Fitnessczar (39-7) and ArkieDuck (37-10) which is also incredibly close. Thanks to all who played, and congrats again to PittDuck! Nearly Halloween? We have our own Galloping Ghost!

We still are not believed....I think. This will continue through the rest of the season. The speed and skill of Oregon made the No. 20 team, one of the better teams out of an 18 team conference, look silly at times today. No, we are not sweet...

GameDay Thread of Oregon vs. Illinois: Join Us!
Charles Fischer replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This is why I say that we all are right about half the time; with DTs on the Illinois defense that are light--I thought we'd be pounding up the middle from the jump. No....the Ducks were attacking the perimeter with touch passes, sweeps, and Bubbles. Shows what I know... Or perhaps Oregon anticipated that Illinois would do that and stack the box, thus seal them inside and run outside? Something to watch as the game progresses... -
Here we are my Duck-Buddies, the thread for pondering the actual game as it happens. Let's discuss before, and during the game! The vast majority of you are GREAT in this thread, but you must remember that this forum is different, as we require civilized discourse. Discussion of negative is fine, but don't vent on us! Rule No. 31d covers GameDay Thread Conduct, and it is not hard for the vast majority of us--just a tiny few who need to reign it in when things don't go well for Our Beloved Ducks. Let's Have Fun Posting During the Game!
