We do NOT discuss the Oregon game here, as we will have a separate GameDay thread for our game, but all the others out there in CFB in this thread. (I will delete posts about the Oregon game, as we need to keep the discussions separate) Do provide score updates when you can, as well as your thoughts of what you saw. Anyone watch the 31-7 victory by Kansas State over Arizona? Sounds like a butt-kicking....

The Great Beaver Sycophant Strikes!

Media revenue comes down to alumni numbers, the size of the fan base. The B1G has a stunningly large alumni and fan base, but the MW teams that joined the Pig-2? -

Bill: And why couldn't Oregon State and Washington State done the honorable thing and just have joined the MWC? It is always fun to kick Beavis... Can't Wait for Saturday! -

Hello My OBD FishDuck Forum Friends! What is your prediction versus Oregon State? Take your shot and let's have fun with it... Lets get these predictions started, and remember I look for the differential between your predicted points with both teams from the actual points. I will use the tiebreaker information when needed, so provide all the data below! Entries without ALL the information are invalid, and predictions on other threads don't count. Please follow directions, as I need all that is below for tiebreakers: --the winner --the score --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team --the number of passing yards by the Ducks. My prediction is: Oregon 48-13 3 3 321 Time for a Pleasant Drive up the Highway...

On Saturday: What Do YOU Want to See From Oregon?
Charles Fischer replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Well, speaking of the offensive line....I will have a new analysis out about them on Friday. Although this time we are looking at the positive, the progress I am enjoying seeing. Well, the progress was in the second half as Connerly watches a first-half sack... -
The 2024 Ducks Can Learn from 2014’s Struggles
Charles Fischer replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Great article David...it's been a decade already? Canzano actually provided some humor before picking Oregon to win Saturday by six points... "The Ducks have been clunky on the field this season but are 2-0. The No. 3 team in the AP Poll won the opener in Week 1 and, then, dropped to No. 7. Then, UO won again in Week 2 and dropped to No. 9. Oregon is maybe three more victories from playing its way out of the AP Top 25." -
I will let you all chime in on what you want on offense, and what you wish to see on defense, but I wish to have a massive uptick in Wide Receiver production this week for Our Beloved Ducks. Get the confidence of both the quarterback and his receivers way UP for the conference schedule! This is a group that should be killing-it, between Stewart, Holden and Tez. I do not believe that the Beavers or many of the B1G foes have the fast-twitch at defensive back to counter what the Ducks have in wide receivers, and now is the time to assert that advantage. Throwing longer patterns and deeper drag routes opens everything up; the seam patterns to the tight ends, the short passes in the flat to running backs, and it has defenders leaning back on their heels--on the outer edge of the box, hence opening up the running attack a bit more for Oregon. What do YOU want to see on Saturday?

How is what the Pig-2 did to the Mountain West ANY different than what the B1G did to the PAC-12 in taking the four best teams? Damn..I sure am glad we are in one of two super-conferences! Whew!

Whoa! A brutal, but truthful article that summarized it better than I could ever write. Thanks Canvasback, for posting it. Terrific piece…

Yes, and the OSU President said that she, "did not want to do anything unethical."

Taking four MW conference teams, and adding two non-P4 teams and spending all that money is the most expensive lipstick EVER.

John Canzano also sent out a bulletin stating that there will be announced tomorrow morning. He was chortling about how the announcement is just ahead of the Civil War and the Apple Cup, as if to upstage the games with their own publicity stunt. So they’ll have four teams from the Mountain West, and two teams that nobody else wanted among the Power-Four? I just can’t wait to watch Fresno State play Colorado State…

I like this...very much.

I will give credit to SonofaDuck on another site who did some digging and came up with the following... Returning Talent for Beavis --In total, on Offense they lost 9 of their top 10 by snap count, and 18 of the top 22. They retain No. 4, 11, 12, and 19. --In total, on Defense they lost 12 of their top 13 by snap count. They retain No. 4, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20. --They have nobody who effectively caught the ball last year, or played in the front 7 on defense. For anybody. C'mon Oregon...play up to your talent!

The Civil War in September: Lame
Charles Fischer replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I'll be honest; the Beavers are better than I'd thought they would be, although they have not been tested as much. It would be nice to get the offense going again, a "get-well" game, but until I see otherwise--I will assume we will see a tough contested game. -
You all know how I feel about scheduling Beavis when they are actively stealing 30 million from Oregon over 10 years, and if all goes well for them--they still end up in a Power-Four conference? ----------------------------------------------- From Canzano earlier today... Scott Barnes, the athletic director at Oregon State, told me last week that he’s committed to resuming the Civil War series in all sports. AD Rob Mullens at Oregon appears to be on board, too, and they’re working together. OSU gets a quality non-conference opponent at home every other year in football. It sold the TV rights to FOX for Saturday’s game. Oregon gets a quality non-conference opponent, too. Neither side has to get on a plane to play the game. The Civil War series works for both sides. I’ve spoken to both university presidents, who are working together on academic projects as well. When I asked how their relationship was last week, OSU’s Jayathi Murthy called Oregon’s John Karl Scholz: “A very decent and kind man.” Murthy said there was a time you could get her “all worked up” about what happened last August but she’s focused on what OSU can control. Maybe everyone is being diplomatic, but I don’t hear a bunch of bad feelings at the top right now. ---------------------------------------------------- Mullens/Scholz are SO WEAK... Pig-2 taking from those who earned it.
