  2. A Lucky GM and Coach? Why Andrew Luck could be the next head coach for Stanford football SATURDAYBLITZ.COM It’s not every day a Power Four football program finds itself without a head coach just months before a season kicks off — but here we are. After Stanford parte
  3. New B1G men's CBB Coaches at Indiana, Iowa, and Minnesota. All three hires get an A- from On3. 2025 coaching carousel: Grading every high-major college hire WWW.ON3.COM Check out the way-too-early grades for every high-major coaching hire in college basketball during the 2025 offseason. Here's more on the new hires from Yahoo. Big Ten Basketball Coaching Carousel: News and Rumors SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Indiana, Iowa, and Minnesota make new hires plus rumors on Maryland and UCLA potential openings? These hires, a coach from Drake, Colorado State, and the West Virginia coach one season removed from the G5, along with Sean Miller from Xavier to Texas, further evidence the rise of the Power conferences and former Tournament Cinderellas losing their glass slippers. (West Virginia is a Power 4 program, of course, but how often does the job at Blue Blood Indiana come up?) The deniers believe an all-Power 4 Tournament Sweet 16 in 2024-25 is an outlier. I disagree. Follow the conference consolidation, a/k/a follow the money. Including the money available for coach's salaries, NIL, and direct payment to players if the House settlement is approved. The Drakes and Colorado States will find it difficult to come up with $20M in direct payments, and the successful Power 4 NIL consortiums are not going away. Speaking of going away. Why do Power 4 football and basketball need the NCAA? The NCAA has nothing to do with the football post-season and if the G6 is on the decline in basketball, why not a P4 plus Big East (the BE is rumored to be joining the ACC for basketball) and G6 champs tournament (85 total teams) with a geographically sound field of 36 teams. San Francisco would not host a regional made up of Florida, Maryland, Arkansas, and Texas Tech. 1st round games could be played on campus. The rule book would be streamlined, and uniformly and timely enforced.
  4. Coach Izzo Pounds the Portal Timing. The NCAA Doesn't Know the Dates of the Tournament? Tom Izzo goes on fiery rant on transfer portal opening in middle of NCAA Tournament - On3 WWW.ON3.COM On Tuesday, Tom Izzo railed against the idea of worrying about the transfer portal while his team is still dancing in March Madness.
  5. Everybody, grab a spoon and stir along with Prime Time! 🤪 First series, Dante down. 2nd series, no Novo in 2025. Coach, if you need another team and another team's coaches to accomplish your goals in the spring, please exit through the tunnel and don't look back. As Charles notes, It's A Looooong Off Season. 😧
  6. Good Luck. Yuck, Yuck 😁 Andrew Luck explains first major move as Stanford GM in firing Troy Taylor, calls for program reset WWW.SPORTINGNEWS.COM Stanford is now at another crossroads after having to fire their head football coach Troy Taylor, during spring.
  7. As CBS Sports Tom Fornelli noted in the above article, he finished this B1G exercise in 2024 going 9-9. Here are my thoughts. (Do not wager on my thoughts, I have a lot of Fernelli within me.) Fornelli has OBD, TOSU, and Penn State all finishing 11-1 and all covering the 10.5. If this were the case. at the close of the regular season, Ohio State, with a win over the Nits, would meet Penn State in the B1G champ game and Oregon would be a top 8-seed, hosting a 1st round game in Autzen. If the predicted loss for OBD at PSU is a 'good loss,' this would be a fine outcome IMO. Best B1G Bet. Again, please beware, but my betting friends and I already have money down on ILLINOIS over 7.5. Illinois returns close to 90% of its production, starting QB, Luke Altmyer, and misses Oregon, Michigan, and Penn State. Illinois plays Ohio State and USC in Champaign. Road games at Indiana and UW could be tough. I disagree with INDIANA going under 8.5. I do not see the Hoosiers losing at Rutgers. Michigan under 8.5? I think the Wolverines win at least one of Ohio State at home or on the road vs. Oklahoma, Nebraska, or USC. Ohio State - I believe there is a loss somewhere but not in the opener vs. Texas. Texas has to replace as many starters as TOSU and Manning is getting a lot of love for playing well against UTSA and Mississippi State. Ewers was injured all of last season and Sark still had him starting for the Horns. I believe IOWA will cover the 7.5, MICHIGAN STATE the 5.5, INDIANA the 8.5, RUTGERS the 5.5, and UWho the 7.5. Take the Bob out of the Cats!
  8. Thanks, David. Playing a G6 opponent in a meaningless game does not make sense. Playing in Corvallis? No way. I like your FCS for all P4 + G6 teams in the spring, a game that counts with 11 games left in the regular season beginning in Week 0. Have to shorten the season and play the champ game on 1/1 or shortly thereafter. Go against King NFL and you lose. OBD owes these hypocritical sewer rats NOTHING.
  9. A Tall Task for TOSU and OBD? 2025 Big Ten win totals, odds, picks: Predictions for every team as Ohio State, Oregon face big numbers - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Breaking down win total predictions for each Big Ten team ahead of the 2025 season I love the photo of The Defending Champions coming out of the tunnel. I also like the 2025 schedule for OBD; no Bucks, no Wolverines, no ranked Illinois. Indiana at home, with the B1G biggie looking like 9/27/25 at Penn State.

  15. The late start times in the Eastern time zone, a 9:39 PM tip-off for Duke vs. Arizona in Newark, 9:39 for Auburn vs Michigan in Atlanta, and 10 PM for Houston vs. Purdue in Indianapolis are disgraceful. 2025 NCAA Tournament: Tip-off times, TV channels for Sweet 16 WWW.ON3.COM The matchups and TV times have been set for the Sweet 16 round of action in the NCAA Tournament, with some juicy matchups waiting. 17. 10 seed Arkansas is the only team lower than a No. 6 seed to make the Sweet Sixteen. Power conferences fill this year's Sweet 16 for the first time ever APNEWS.COM Years of bracket chaos have given way to the year of the power conference. Cinderella is staying home this time. Conference consolidation at the 'Power' level and transfer portal free agency have resulted in the first All-Power-Conference Sweet 16. (Although, it took a great shot by Maryland freshman Queen, for the Terps to defeat CO. ST. and advance.) If the football playoff committee used the strength-of-schedule metric it pays for and not the eye test, and with no guaranteed spot for a G6 team, the 14 or 16-team PO field in 2026-27 would consist of all Power 4 teams with the B1G and the SEC dominating the field. Four-seeds each for the B1G and the SEC in the football PO field accurately reflect the state of today's game. The B12 in particular should be happy about two seeds being guaranteed. Follow the $$$$$.
  18. Losing from the line was also the case with the Badgers loss to BYU. Wisky missed six one + one front end shots.
  19. Bummer! UConn was this close.
  20. Not a vintage year for the Big East. (I am hoping UConn takes down The Gators, sorry Gat, today.) The Saint John Johnies' bad shooting showed up yesterday. The leading scorer was held to nine points by the Razorbacks. Next up for 10 seed Arkansas is No. 3 seed Texas Tech. Come On Red Raiders! MASH THE MILDCATS!
  21. The Bucks and the Hoosiers should have received an invite to The Dance. Thanks for the good wishes, but about the gridiron postseason ... 🦨
  22. Thanks to 30, et al, for all of the tournament updates and comments. Thursday night, No. 5 Michigan plays the overall No. 1 seed Auburn in Atlanta. The Wolverines made a gutty comeback in a game where the refs allowed body checks and called ticky-tack fouls. Michigan fans will be well represented in the ATL. How do you like that No. 1 seed Houston? Your Sweet 16 reward is playing No. 4 Purdue on Thursday night in Indianapolis. 😁 It would be Sweet 🤑 if favorites No. 1 Michigan State vs. 10 New Mexico, and No. 4 Maryland Maryland vs. No. 12 Colorado State move on today, along with upset winners No. 6 Illinois vs. No. 3 Kentucky, and No. 5 OBD vs. the No. 4 Tucson Kitty-Cats. Ducks fans, show up and make some noise! MASH THE MILDCATS. There's no place like Newark in March! 🤪
  23. I can't get Pacino vs. DeNiro out of my mind. 😁May the best Pisane win!
