  1. A B1G Preview. Big Ten Football preview 2024: Predicted winner, hot seat watch, Heisman chances FANSIDED.COM For the first time since the inaugural College Football Playoff, the reigning national champion resides in the Big Ten. Although so much has changed over the la
  2. Chaos in the B1G. The only chaos I hope to see will be authored by the Ducks D. The one I could be worried about, Nebraska, is not on the 2024 schedule. Although, Michigan State could be a look-ahead to Ohio State game and the Boilermakers could be an Ohio State hangover game. The 3 teams that can cause the most chaos in the Big Ten in 2024 VICTORYBELLRINGS.COM With the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff, the now 18-team Big Ten conference fully expects at least three if not four representatives to play for a na

  5. Shout Out to College Football 'AARP Members' Including Gabe and Cam McCormick. With careers prolonged by COVID-19, injuries, college football's 'super, super seniors' are enjoying the ride - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Things look a lot different these days for those entering their sixth, seventh -- or, in one case -- ninth year
  6. Mandel is being lit up on the Athletic's comment section for being a Paul Finebaum clone. He has it coming. His win totals would result in 5 SEC playoff teams and 2 B1G playoff teams. IF This happens, Petitti better make a B1G noise about all playoff contenders playing the same number of regular-season games.
  7. CBS Sports Conference Rankings. I agree that the B1G is not that far behind the SEC. 2024 College Football Conference Power Rankings: SEC starts season on top, but Big Ten isn't far behind - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Here's how the nine FBS conferences stack up ahead of the 2024 season
  8. He only looks at the regular season. So this would be a loss to Ohio State and one other team. With the schedule Oregon has, I can see one other loss, all other things being equal, but not 3 losses. Oregon has to go out and prove it to mainstream national media and 'traditional' B1G fans. FWIW, Mandel graduated from Northwestern. Mandel is missing two critical data points in his take, OBD has the better QB and O-line. BTW, Stewies predictions are most often bogus at season's end.
  9. SOS - Depends on the person and/or the site you refer to. All the sites I've seen, except CBS Sports, have Oregon with a more difficult schedule than Ohio State. Many have OBD with a SOS inside the top 10. Looking at 2024 opponent records in 2023: USC 106-53; Oregon 101-57; Michigan 98-59; Penn State 88-67; and Ohio State 83-71. This is using the 12-game regular season schedule. Ohio State usually plays at least one quality opponent OOC, Notre Dame in 2023, and Texas in 2025, but not this year. OOC, the Buckeyes welcome three cupcakes to Columbus. A great opportunity for Ohio State to break in a new QB, Will Howard, and Chip's O. I expect one of the two Ohio State stud RBs will be right there in the September Heisman race.😁 It's a different story in-conference even without considering the Buckeyes eight home games vs. seven for the Ducks, six games in a row without a break instead of eight, with travel to Penn State on 11/2, but three of the last four games at home, including Michigan, with the only away game being a trip to Northwestern. The game before the Michigan game is Indiana in Columbus. In November, the Ducks travel to Ann Arbor and Madison, Wisconsin. Wisconsin is idle the week before the Badgers play the Ducks. Both teams miss USC. This seaon, Ohio State plays one 'Pac-12' opponent, Oregon, on 10/12. Both teams play Michigan but tOSU plays the Wolverines at home while Oregon travels to the Big House.. Ohio State also plays at Penn State and versus Iowa in Columbus, on the Saturday before playing in Eugene. OBD misses PSU and Iowa. Considering Oregon's travel and November away games, I think Oregon has the more difficult schedule but based simply on quality comneference opponents, it's very close. The Basketball Committee discloses the metrics it uses. The Football Committee to date, even though SOS is now, with conference championships not being used as tie-breakers beginning this season, the Committee's first priority, discloses nothing. The public is left in the dark as to metric(s.) used by the Football Committee. ESPN and many other sites during the season track SOS and Strenght of Record. However, when the ESPN, AP and Coaches Polls have nine SEC teams in the top 25 it's difficult to have a "Bad Loss" in the SEC. Part of the E$ecPN scam. The PO format in place for 2024-25 and 2025-26 will put pressure on and stress on the Committee; especially, if the Committee refuses to disclose the metrics on which it will rely.
  10. I'd wager that Dillon leads The Most Miles Covered in a Career Traveling Man Award. Honolulu to Orlando to Norman to Eugene. One good thing, in his one-year stop in Eugene he will not have to travel to Jersey. There are other 6th season 2 times QB transfers but I believe Gabe is the Traveling Man King. Gabe has put up amazing numbers and the Oregon WRs and TEs will be the best group he has thrown the ball to. This will also be the best O-line he has played behind under the tutelage of an OC who is the equal or better than Malzahn and Rhett Lashley. Drew Brees was a second-round draft choice out of Purdue and had a 'pretty good' career.
  11. Change in Playoff Committee Protocol. The Committee will not use conference championships as a tiebreaker. 18. Two keys to Ohio State's 2024 success. Two keys for Ohio State to meet preseason expectations WWW.YARDBARKER.COM Coming into the season as the No. 2 team in the nation behind Georgia, and the top program in the Big Ten Conference, Ohio State football is projected to be one of the best teams on the field... Will Howard be better than McCord at QB? I agree this is question No. 1 for the Buckeyes. Injuries as question No. 2? This is endemic to every team. IMO No. 2 question is: Will the O line improve? 21. 10/12 - CFB WOW! Clear your calendar on October 12 because it will be the biggest FBS day of the year SATURDAYBLITZ.COM On October 12, there will be budding rivalries, classic clashes, and cross-country showdowns galore as some of the best matchups of the season take place. Note: Michigan will welcome SC to the B1G in Ann Arbor. Penn State traveling to LA on 10/12 is not SC's B1G opener. [Where do they find these folks? Can I get a fact check on aisle Blitz?]
  22. The AP voters went 8-5? Riiiiiiiight. 👌😁 College football polls reflect groupthink on USC and everyone else TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM College football polls, in this 2024 preseason, have been defined by lazy voters engaging in groupthink. No original analysis is evident. Come On Man! It's not where you start but where you finish which Troy should have learned in 2023 when it started 6-0. Beat LSU and the voters will notice. It's not a Conspiracy, it's Groupthink. HMMMMMM?

  24. Thanks, Steven. OBDers, if you can, check out the Big Ten Network's visit to the Ohio State Fall Camp to see a determined Day, Chip, and a lot of quality athletes with experience. 19 million folks watched the Ohio State at Michigan game last season. OBD and the Buckeyes are both 5-0 coming into the game on 10/12 and it won't be 19 million but it could be Oegon's most-watched game in the history of Oregon football. 10/12 should be an amazing Saturday. In addition to Buckeyes vs Ducks, there is The Red River Rivalry, Ole Miss at LSU, Penn State at USC, and U Who at Iowa. Vandalize the Vandals!
  25. Watching BTN, I am ticked off that Sabrina is not included in the list of B1G Olympic medal winners. Does Oregon have a SID besides Mr. FishDuck, the Doctor of the Diamond? I love what the ad agency did with the Inflated Duck, where is the 'homegrown' PR?
