  2. Nice, the No. 8 seed has to play a road game (Indiana in Indianapolis = Home Game for the Hoosiers) vs. the No. 9 seed with a 9 AM Pacific tip off. Would OBD have been better off losing to Indiana and UW?😧
  3. The Ducks should se-seed. 9 AM Pacific start time for the No. 8 seed playing against the No. 9 seed Indiana team at a neutral site, right? In 2025, OBD has not benefited from being a higher seed in moneyball sports.

  8. Thanks, Sig. QB is a good topic to ponder; the most important position in team sport. The Spring transfer portal opens on April 16th and closes on the 25th, one day before the Ducks Spring Game. QB Room - Moore, Novostad, Moga, Smith. Novo is being paid, enough to hang in with the Ducks? I'm certain he is being scouted by other teams but to date, he is a Duck. Perhaps he believes he can beat out Moore and/or no other program has topped what he is earning at Oregon. Someone is advising him to stay in Eugene until Spring practice to see where he stands. Perhaps his family is financially well off and more money is not that big of a deal. Also, if Dante is as good as predicted by Tez and others, he could be off to the NFL in the 2026 Draft, with Novo likely in the lead to be the starter in 2026-27. As best as I can tell, Novo will be a RS Sophomore in 2025-26, with two seasons of eligibility remaining. I was surprised not to see Moga's name on the T+F roster? Did I space it? I thought he was going to run track. Akili Smith Jr. comes in as a 4* recruit which means the jury is out until he participates at the college level. I am happy that we will likely see all four QBs play ball on 4/26.
  9. A 16-team PO using the final PO Committee Rankings - 16 Clemson at 1 OREGON 9 Boise State at 8 Indiana 13 Miami at 4 Penn State 12 ASU at 5 Notre Dame 15 So. Carolina at 2 Georgia 10 SMU at 7 Tennessee 14 Ole Miss at 3 Texas 11 Alabama at 6 Ohio State 6 SEC/ 4 B1G/ 3 ACC/ 1 B12/ 1 Independent/ 1 G5 Greg Sankey would have loved this format. After the PO and bowl games, Illinois and not South Carolina should have been in the field. BYU would have had a legit beef over Ole Miss and not BYU being in the field. The B12 should rush to vote for any format that has two B12 teams in the field.
  10. DANNO, JUST DO IT! Oregon coach Dan Lanning has entered rarefied air with new deal SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Dan Lanning is 35-6 in his three seasons at Oregon.
  11. ND and 30: I agree that returning production alone means very little. I like to break the numbers down by position. Julian Sayin has three quality WRs returning to TOSU. And TOSU also added a TE who was very productive at Purdue. TOSU has to replace two starters at offensive tackle but has the center and guard position well covered. The RB position will likely see a fall off, but the RB from West Virginia from the portal will help Ohio State at RB. Texas lost all of its top receivers, and the Longhorns have to replace four starters on the O-line. Texas has two top RBs returning. When evaluating returning production and potential replacements, this is the kind of detail I prefer. How Ohio State’s 2025 Roster Stacks Up at Every Position Following NFL Draft, Transfer Portal Deadlines WWW.ELEVENWARRIORS.COM With the deadlines to enter the NFL draft and the transfer portal now passed, we take a look at what Ohio State’s 2025 roster will look like entering the spring. On the O-side of the ball, I like what Julian Sayin has returning compared to what Archie Manning has returning. And their first round matchup should be very interesting. Also, when looking at returning production, it's important to see how a program has recruited recently. You know that UGA has many Blue Chip recruits ready to step up. UGA and Ohio State have a history of successfully reloading. Texas in the SEC? The Longhorns' in-conference schedule in the SEC is one of the easiest, but Texas is on the road at Florida and Georgia, and A&M and Oklahoma, or any SEC team, can bite you, especially on the road, including Kentucky, and old rival Arkansas will battle in Austin. I am a schedule maven. UGA has warm up games at home vs. Marshall and Austin Peay before playing Tennessee in Knoxville. Oregon has a lot to replace, but the Ducks will have a significant roster advantage in the first four games, Montana State, Oklahoma State, at Northwestern, and Oregon State before traveling to Penn State. The preseason polls love Texas, but there are as many as four games on the schedule that Texas could lose, including the game at Ohio State. Is it August 30 yet?

  13. Great take. Franklin did defeat Ohio State in 2016 when Penn State won the B1G title, but one-loss Ohio State went to the PO where it was destroyed by Clemson and conference champ 2-loss PSU did not.
  14. Wyndham Conquers the Wind at Arnie's Place - Wyndham Clark takes Arnold Palmer lead in tough scoring conditions WWW.YARDBARKER.COM Wyndham Clark birdied three of his last six holes to take a two-shot lead after the first round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational on Thursday in Orlando, Fla.
  15. I agree, but this would require a change in the regular season start date, and require conference champ games folded into the regular season. Both of which are doable and should happen. Still need a mandated spot for a G5 team if not in the top 16 and possibly, a B12 team.
  16. 2025 QB Battles to Keep an Eye On - Predicting who will win the biggest quarterback battles in college football for 2025 SATURDAYBLITZ.COM As we look ahead to the 2025 college football season, several powerhouse programs find themselves at a crossroads, with many facing uncertainty at the quarterb
  17. Thanks again, Mr. Editor! Without you I'd be fisching without a line.
  18. When deciding whether a 4-4-2-2-1-1 Format is 'fair,' consider Bill Connolly's strength of schedule (SOS) ranking using Connolly's SP+ preseason rankings. ESPN's Top 40 strength of schedule ratings for 2025 college football season revealed - On3 WWW.ON3.COM . As Connolly notes: 'The SOS rating is the projected win percentage an average top 5 team could expect against your team's schedule.' (I have no idea what an 'average top 5 team' looks like?) The SP+ calculations place an emphasis on recruiting. Accordingly, SEC teams, not without justification, are for the most part ranked at the top of SP+. Even though the SEC only plays eight conference games, a larger percentage of in-conference games will have top 25 SEC teams playing one another. Nevertheless, Connolly's top 25, and top 40, support both the SEC and the B1G having four guaranteed spots in the playoff, with the eight teams seeded as ranked. 16 SEC teams, the entire conference, are ranked in Connolly's top 25, with eight B1G teams, one ACC team, and ZERO B12 teams. The Top 40 has 17 B1G teams ranked, 16 SEC Teams, all in the Top 25, seven ACC teams, and ZERO B12 teams. So, why all of the whining? The B12, a conference with no Blue Chip Roster teams, should be thankful for two multi-million playoff pieces of the pie. In the ACC, Clemson and Miami have Blue Chip Rosters. The only team in the ACC ranking in the top 25 of the SOS rankings is Syracuse at 14. The Orange open against Tennessee and is one of the ACC teams to draw Notre Dame in 2025, playing in South Bend. (Syracuse also plays UConn and has a brush 😁with Colgate out-of-conference.) Syracuse's schedule is ranked 2nd in the ACC in 2025. A 17-team conference has only seven members playing schedules in the top 40? If the ACC doesn't like a guaranty of two teams, then stop enabling Notre Dame as an Independent. Notre Dame, close to a lock for the plus one spot, equals one-half of an ACC team. But Notre Dame shares ZIP football playoff money with the conference. By every metric including the difficulty of the schedules, assuring the Power 2 both have four teams in the playoff is fair.
  19. Thanks, ND. With Notre Dame visiting in Week 1 and a revenge-minded Florida in Week 4, I think Da U has a good chance of being 2-2. The stadium could also have a majority of Domers and Gators fans. It's Week 1 boom or bust for the ACC with the above game, LSU at Clemson, and Bama at FSU.
  20. Follow the $. If the money is there, playing 10 B1G and SEC games makes sense. 1 B1G/SEC game out-of-conference and if Florida wants to play Florida State in the 12th game, fine. With four spots for the B1G and the SEC based on conference record only, why not play bigger games for bigger money? If Big Ten, SEC programs want to keep fans engaged, they should move to 10-game conference schedules - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Marquee nonconference games and spring games are in danger, so keep fans interested with annual contempt I like the photo. 😁
  21. 4 SEC Automatic PO Qualifiers Likely leads to 9 Conference Games. Whining Will Come from the Lower level SEC teams. 3 teams that will be in trouble if the SEC moves to a 9-game schedule SATURDAYBLITZ.COM The SEC has been flirting with the idea of moving to a nine-game conference schedule for a while now, and Greg Sankey just mentioned that it could happen sooner And a team like South Carolina that is scheduled to play Miami and Clemson in 2026. However, with 4 PO spots guaranteed, losses out-of-conference will not keep a team out of the PO.
  22. Urban Meyer Believes that Four Guaranteed Playoff Spots for the SEC and the B1G Come 2026 is a Done Deal. SEC and Big Ten will have four bids in "unchallenged" CFP, analyst guarantees SATURDAYBLITZ.COM The College Football Playoff is on the verge of another major shake-up, and if you ask Urban Meyer, the outcome is already set in stone. According to the forme With four certain PO spots, a B1G/SEC scheduling agreement is odds on to come to fruition as are conference champion play-in games the final week of the season, No. 1 versus No. 8, etc. In the ACC and the Big 12, No. 1 versus No. 4, and No. 2 versus NO. 3 three could happen. SEC vs. B1G out-of-conference games and PO play-in games will bring in additional money. Which is needed; especially, if the House settlement is approved in April. A guaranty of four teams is not greedy. It accurately reflects today's marketplace. [Note that if Champ Play-In weekend happens, this would require a change in the SC and Notre Dame schedules that have the game played in LA on the last Saturday every other year. 4 guaranteed B1G/SEC teams in the PO means Notre Dame will find it more difficult to schedule outside of the enabling ACC😉]
  23. A Ranking of 2025's CFB QBs with Dante Moore on the List at No. 12. The Top 15 returning quarterbacks in all of college football for 2025 SATURDAYBLITZ.COM We're still more than six months away from the start of college football season, but that doesn't mean there's not a lot to break down. As the confetti was bein One man's, Andrew Broadwine's, opinion, but this seems to be more realistic than many rankings with Arch Manning No. 1. Arch has the genetics but his highlights to date have come against UTSA and Mississippi State. Considering Dante's stats at UCLA, where he was a pinata behind a bad O-line, I understand the wait and see approach.
  24. Thank you, Charles, for these updates. It takes a village. Do all coaches and support staff travel to road games? There are lots of logistics behind the scenes.
  25. Well deserved! 🤑 If Dan is Oregon's HC until he's 60, he'll be The Man who broke the bank at PERS.😁
