  1. I'm not liking this Bo hate. I wonder if this guy watched Bo compete against Drake Maye? 15 NFL Draft predictions 15 days out from the draft WWW.SBNATION.COM Where do things stand with just over two weeks before the NFL Draft?

  3. I get a kick out of the kicker who moved from Corvallis to Eugene, That's enough Beaver kicks for me. But maybe I'm a Sapp? Will Canzano blame the transfer on the Ducks?

  7. David? Spot On! There's 'the law." What happens when there is no sheriff around to enforce 'the law?' Chaos. Just keep it 3rd party to 3rd party, agent to agent and it isn't tampering, right? $400,000.00 'from' Oregon State? That's tough for me to get my arms around. A lot to pay to be the champion of the Pac-2.
  8. Jeremy Bloom. was a football star at CU, an All-American, and an Olympic skier. Jeremy was offered a deal by a ski company to rep the company's skis. The NCAA denied Jeremy'rigth to enter into the deal. As Jeremy noted, the NCAA was OK with an athlete playing another pro sport, like baseball, and competing in a different college sport. The NFL would not let Jeremy earn money from his NIL. Today, Jeremy would be paid both for his playing football and also as a skier at CU. Jeremy, a 6th-round draft pick who did not play a down in the NFL, is today identified as a 'Philanthropist.' Jeremy made mountains of money in investments. The NCAA stiffing Jeremy is one example, among many, of the NCAA having no Common Sense. Jeremy is a member of Mensa and his siblings are also very intelligent people. Jermy's brother is a heart surgeon affiliated with Mass General Hospital in Boston. His sister who was very close to being an Olympic skier, Molly Bloom, was Phi Beta Kappa at CU and could have gone to Harvard or Stanford Law School. Instead, she decided to take a year off. You can learn more about Molly by watching the movie, 'Molly's Game.' The NCAA didn't come after her but the FBI did.
  9. 19 million+ folks tuned into CBB women's game. WOW! Iowa women’s basketball TV ratings smashed records, and the numbers are staggering WWW.SBNATION.COM The most watched basketball game since 2019 — men’s or women’s, college or pro — was Iowa vs. South Carolina for the 2024 women’s national championship.
  10. ETC. Oregon-Hawaii football game in 2024 rescheduled for 2032 season FBSCHEDULES.COM Oregon and Hawaii have agreed to reschedule their canceled football game in 2024 and will now play during the 2032 season. I hope I'll be around to watch the game. 😍

  12. Too bad. So sad. Purdue unravels as UConn completes improbable run of dominance for 2nd straight title SATURDAYTRADITION.COM Purdue could not come up with the stops needed to slow down UConn as the Huskies rolled to a 2nd straight national title.
  13. The Hoosiers with 22 incoming lead the B1G. In quantity. But quality? Look to the Os, Oregon, and Ohio State. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/college-football-transfer-portal-team-by-team-additions-tracker-2024
  14. Better off taking a guy in the 6th round, right?
  15. Thank you, Ryan. For us older folk, not only was Dree Brees a very accurate thrower of the football out of Purdue, but there was a guy before him at Purdue, with the same kind of game, Bob Griese. Griese took the Maimi Dolphins to an undefeated season and two Super Bowl titles for coach Don Shula. Bo was the SEC Newcomer of the Year in his first season at Auburn, playing under the tutelage of Dilly. Dilly left and Bo's play became erratic. Under Dilly at Oregon, Bo returned to form and carried on under Will Stein. At least one astute NFL scout or GM will make note of this. Coaching and the system both matter. The system at Denver under Sean Payton is the same system that Drew Brees played in for Coach Payton and the Saints. At 24 years of age and with a wealth of CFB QB experience, I think that Denver could be the perfect spot for Bo. The No. 12 pick would bring a nice rookie payday for Bo. 61 starts at QB for Bo is amazing. The fact that Dillon Gabriel with 49 starts, please keep him healthy football gods, has a chance to exceed Bo's win total is also amazing. Dillon will (please) finish with at least 13 starts and 62 overall starts; more if the Ducks make the B1G champ game and/or the 2024 playoffs. Unless there is another COVID season of the witch, Gabriel will likely set a CFB record that will never be broken. So, Williams, Daniels, Maye (a guy Bo 'defeated,') McCarthy, and Bo? I hope so as again, I think Denver would be the perfect landing spot. I like Bo's chances to succeed in the NFL. Caleb is going No. 1 but he will not be able to free-lance in the NFL like he did in CFB. Daniels played in a terrific O throwing to 3 WRs who will go in the first 2 rounds. Was it Daniels or the system and his WRs? Maye? Bo won the battle in the Holiday Bowl and Maye did not play great against the better opponents. McCarthy? He's getting a ton of draft love but his measurables are not that great and he played in a run-oriented O at Michigan. Thanks again, Ryan. And all the best to Bo.
  16. Thanks, Charles for the post of the official post. Assistant HC? I think there are half a dozen USC CFB coaches who are assistant HCs. Getting to be like the banking business. You can't walk down the hall without tripping over a VP or three.
  17. The NCAA has no choice. They have lost every meaningful case in the courts. And legislative bodies and regulatory agencies have no interest in protecting the 'student-athlete' model. If the NCAA loses the House case, or other cases claiming back-NIL pay for athletes barred from marketing their own NIL, there will be no more NCAA. There will be who knows how many programs no longer awarding athletic scholarships. That's the saddest thing about 'All of This." The baby could be thrown out with the bath water. Or at the very least, few schools will have the financial resources to offer all of the sports offered today and the resources to compete at championship levels. A major hit could be coming to non-venue sports and women's sports. Without Olympic varsity sports being played in college, what entity is going to fund the development of Olympic athletes? We could see a major hit to the USA's performance in Olympic sports. Fortunately, Oregon has the resources to carry on in the Money Ball sports but how many other sports may be cut or receive less funding? Pandora has left the box. I'm not excusing the NCAA for not getting ahead of the curve but today, the NCAA can put on post-season events, and control eligibility, and that's about it.
  18. How much did the NCAA spend on legal fees before being enjoined by a judge in West Virginia? The injunction put into place what the NCAA is now "proposing" to do. Brilliant! The Power 4 especially when it comes to CFB and Men's CBB, need to go their own way, at least in the Money Ball sports, and leave the dysfunctional NCAA behind. And it's more likely that it will be the Power 2 going their own way. There can be no restraints on transfers allowed before the players have an association that can bargain with management. Congress is not coming to the NCAA's rescue until a negotiated agreement is in place. However, how do you form a 'union' with transient athletes? A union with many athletes under the age where they are allowed to enter into enforceable contracts, Who or what makes up 'management?' This is yet another reason why the proposed 80-team Super Conference is a non-starter. The B1G and the SEC collectively have the market power and influence to go it alone and enter into an agreement with their athletes. Possibly leaving Northwestern and Vandy on the football sideline, but conference members for all other sports. Money Ball sports in particular will consolidate, not expand.
  19. Report: John Calipari had 'significant, serious' interest in joining Big Ten program WWW.YARDBARKER.COM It was reported Sunday night that longtime Kentucky men's basketball coach John Calipari was finalizing a five-year deal to join the University of Arkansas. It might have been Cal at tOSU.
  20. Winners and losers from men's NCAA Tournament: UConn's dominance puts them among sport's greats WWW.YARDBARKER.COM UConn did it again. And the Ducks with a great late run were definitely Winners. UConn's 1st star player was big man Toby Kimball, who went to the same high school I attended, Belmont Hill School in Belmont, Massachusetts. My 2nd Hillies reference of the day; please forgive me.
  21. B1G went champ game 0-2. No titles since 2000 in CBB. Great game by Purdue's Edey, 37 points, but in the Men's Tourney it comes down to guard play and UConn's guards did an excellent job of shutting down Purdue's guards. Purdue came in as the 2nd ranked team in 3-point success and went 1 for 7 against UConn. Caitlyn Clark had a great first quarter and first half (I'd like to see the Men's CBB use quarters and lose a TO) but ran out of gas against a deeper South Carolina squad. Back-to-back for UConn and USC(e) 3rd title. Zach Edey's monster game isn't enough for Purdue in title game loss WWW.YARDBARKER.COM Zach Edey put up 37 points in the national title game. Unfortunately, the rest of his teammates only scored 23 points as UConn defeated Purdue, 75-60.
  22. ESPN's NFL Insider and host of ESPN's 'Fantasy Football, Field Yates, has Bo going 12 to Denver, JPC going 35 to Arizona, and Troy Franklin going 64th to Kansas City, which would be a great landing spot for Troy. And Bo would be a good fit in Broncos coach Sean Payton's offense. The only problem with the QBs on the roster is that Bo might be thrown into the NFL fire in his first season. In the first 2 rounds, Fields has the New B1G with 24 draft choices and the New SEC with 23. Fields is 36 years of age. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University in Connecticut where he played football and lacrosse. Before taking the job with ESPN, Yates was a member of the Chiefs coaching staff. He is the replacement for the pink-slipped McShay and IMO, an improvement. Disclosure: I'm biased. Fields went to the same high school in Massachusetts as did I: Belmont Hill School. 2024 NFL Draft: Trades shake up ESPN, Field Yates new 2-round mock, first 64 picks predictions - On3 WWW.ON3.COM .
