  1. Two ACC teams including a 3L Clemson team that lost to both Georgia and South Carolina? Instead of a 3L Bama, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and perhaps, a 3L UGA? At least one of the SEC 3Ls should, IMO, be in. Probably UGA if it loses to Texas. A 2L SMU has a home loss vs BYU. And a weak SOS compared to the 3L SEC teams. If the quality of the teams you play doesn't matter, see Boise State No. 10, why play a team OOC that you can't destroy, and why play 9 and not 8 conference games? 16 team PO - 4 SEC, 4 B1G, 2 ACC + B12, 1 G5, 3 At Large. If the Domers don't like it, join a conference. Only 3 teams chosen subjectively. Conferences on their own break ties and submit their teams. Seeding? Could be The Rub but this concern could be reduced by reseeding after each round as the NFL does. Team Rankings SOS - 12/5/24 1. Georgia/ 2. Alabama/ 5. South Carolina/ 7. Ole Miss/ 27. Clemson/ 49. SMU.
  2. It's So Obvious this Format and a PO Run by an Invested Broadcast Company is Screwed up. SMU's case is one of the foibles. The fifth seed is arguably better than the 1st seed because there is no reseeding. SOS used to justify Bama in and Miami out but not otherwise? 4. GEORGIA ON HIS MIND. 👍👌😍 Wasson: Oregon’s Dan Lanning building a West Athens-style winning machine SATURDAYTRADITION.COM As first-time head coaches go, it's hard to find one better than Dan Lanning, who is 34-5 -- and fighting for titles -- in his 3rd year at Oregon. 5. Thank you, DM. Truly Mighty Ducks vs. diminished dogs. Fisch should have thrown in the towel or the referee should have stopped the fight. I tuned into a football game and witnessed a mugging.😁 The Regular Season? Where did it go? Goes by even faster when you're 12-0. 😍 Flame Franklin! Paste, Punish + Pound PsU!
  6. The Post-Champ Game PO Bracket Has No.5 OBD Hosting UNLV + Then Playing Clemson in the Peach Bowl. One more game but an easier path to Atlanta? RESEED! College Football Playoff Bracket Catastrophe: What if underdogs shake up the ranking? FANSIDED.COM If college football rivalry week taught us anything, it's to expect the unexpected. Spank Franklin! The format is pathetic but no reason not to Plaster Penn State, Win the B1G in OBD's Year One, and play in Pasadena. Ohio State in the Rose Bowl would be an ironic and iconic traditional Rose Bowl matchup. 😍
  7. CBS Sports has the Ducks as yesterday's B1Ggest winner. 8. I hope the guys leaving are getting decent advice. There is no guaranty another program will offer them; especially, a champion contending program. Spot on Charles. You build a deep roster and guys will portal out. Dan and Division Street will fill positions of need from the portal. It was so great watching the Big Ten Network today reporting that OBD had moved up to the top recruiting spot in the conference. Dan is winning The Battle of the Os. 😍 I wonder if Riley and Day plan to meet in the same bar? 😁
  9. 'That GD Napier had to start winning games?' 'Thanks a lot, Lane Kiffin.' 'Stuck in Lodi, again.'
  10. He's hoping his Horns don't play Oregon and get Ducked. 😁
  11. Good thoughts. Change could happen but not if conference champ game favorites win. BUT?
  12. Should SMU boycott the ACC Champ Game? Dicuss. 🤪
  13. The B1G's Saturday Tradition Take on the Penultimate Rankings. We're Alabama - You're Not! The SEC sent out an SOS and in one case and one case only, the Committee paid attention to Strength Of Schedule. "Bama has wins over 3 ranked teams." OK, but your No. 2 team Texas has, like Miami, ZERO top 25 wins. Boise State with a lower SOS than ASU/Iowa State is No. 10. Most love ever given to a G5 team. This is an E$PN farce. All the manure thrown in the direction of the Committee is deserved. The NCAA uses disclosed metrics to set the fields for the football playoffs it manages. The NCAA Tournament Committee does the same. 13 people making multi-million dollar judgments are allowed to wing it. Righteous, right? To Charles's point, the NFL reseeds the PO field to give the top teams the easier PO path. Not the CFB Committee, of course. O’Gara: Takeaways from an all-important Playoff Poll ahead of conference championship weekend SATURDAYTRADITION.COM Here's what we learned from Tuesday's Playoff Poll. Give Franklin A Spankin' 😁
  14. All good points. Who would you hire instead? Is there anyone out there who can win the % of games won by Day? Who can recruit like Day? I think comparing Day or any coach to Nick Saban when it comes to winning the big games is a tough standard. Check out James Franklin's, Steve Sarkisian's, and so-called 'Big Game' Bob Stoops records in the biggest games. Again, I get and appreciate all of your comments but Michigan is one game on the schedule. In 7 seasons Harbaugh won 2 B1G conference championships. And OBD is the only undefeated team in the G5/P4 this season. You want to be a tough grader? I'm fine with that but I think you are judging the man against the greatest coaches in the history of CFB. And I for one do not see Vrabel as an ipso facto improvement. Others may be out there but I cannot easily identify them. Love the discussion and your thought-provoking comments.
  15. Notre Dame? Screwed Over? What a Heart-Breaker 🤣 JOIN A CONFERENCE! 3-1 vs. the G5 - WOW! Latest CFP rankings totally screw over Notre Dame in first-round matchup FANSIDED.COM Notre Dame's dream season isn't exactly being rewarded. DREAM SEASON? "We beat 8-4 A+M and 6-6 USC! 16. Mari is not alone. A Bama 'justification' from Bama Hammer.😒 People are crashing out over Alabama football likely making the CFB Playoff BAMAHAMMER.COM Alabama football was, as expected, ranked No. 11 by the College Football Playoff Committee on Tuesday night, which currently puts the Crimson Tide as the last t Also, SEE: Finebaum, Paul. 😁 Also: Follow Walt Disney's Dinero.
  17. Sign with a team that will be left behind and not The Ducks? Good luck.
  18. It's always been about and always will be about the Jimmies and the Joes. Every great football coach worth his salt knows this and knows so much of college football is having the right guys via recruiting and the portal today, the top coaches meld the top players to play team ball. Mike Norvell did it last season and not this season. After Georgia plucked the Ducks in Atlanta what did Kirby Smart say: Dan is going to be just fine, he knows we have the better players. Kirby lost game after game to Nick Saban and Bama. The Georgia fans were not happy with this but after justifiably calling for Mark Richt to be run off the sane and not the zany UGA fans understood that Kirby would get it done. Kirby finally beat Bama in the most impressive manner possible, defeating Saint Nick for a Natty. And but for a Tua walk-off heave, he would have won one earlier vs. Bama. Ryan Day has an albatross around his neck in the form of a Wolverine. STUFF happens. If tOSU plays and takes care of the Vols in Columbus, I'm not certain which team in a rematch with OBD would be favored. I do know that if OBD plays well and nevertheless loses to Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, I'm not calling for Dan's head. Losing 3 in a row to UWhoo hurt but OBD fans with a clue didn't want Dan canned. PLASTER PENN STATE!
  19. DUCKS WIRE/ USA Today Take - Oregon Ducks football 2025 early signing period commitment tracker DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Who has officially joined the Oregon Ducks on Early Signing Day? Here’s our updated list.
  20. 247 Sports rankes OBD's class No. 3 in the B1G but No. 1 per recruit ranking. This is similar to what I am seeing across all rankings. OBD is No. 7 in the ranking of all the teams but still has the highest per player ranking. https://247sports.com/season/2025-football/compositeteamrankings/?Conference=Big Ten Reliable Rivals has OBD 2nd in the B1G and again, with the highest per player ranking. 2025 big10 football recruiting team rankings N.RIVALS.COM 2025 big10 football recruiting team rankings by Rivals.com
  21. PLAYOFF COMMITTEE + BAMA -❤️❤️🤑 PLAYOFF COMMITTEE + THE ACC - 🫣 🤮 🥶 College Football Playoff rankings: Alabama back in; Miami first team out WWW.YARDBARKER.COM The latest College Football Playoff rankings were unveiled on Tuesday night, and it helps paint a pretty good picture of what the 12-team playoff field might look like next week when it is officially... Mari oh-ho-ho, have a really nice day. 😂
  22. Greg Sankey, Bob Bowlsby, Craig Thompson, and the Notre Dame AD 😧set this format up because Sankey needed🤑 Notre Dame's and as it turned out Washington State's 😁approval to change the format before the 2026/27 season. Sankey needed a unanimous vote. Now that the rubber has hit the SEC road, I'm not sure Gregory is happy with the Frankenstein Monster he created. We haven't heard a peep from Our Guy Tony Petitti. 😍 🤑 You cannot overcome a bad design without a fix. the format will be fixed in 2026. However, with the Power 2 taking the (not Nittany) lion's share of the field, rematches between conference teams will come with the PO territory. Usually against the same conference suspects. PULVERIZE PENN STATE!
  23. FAR TOO LOGICAL. Including not bowing to the ESPN inclusion of bowl games it broadcasts and allowing the fans of the better teams to stay home to watch their team play. Because of the calendar in 2024, FCS teams were allowed to play 12 regular season games if they so desired. The usual 11-game season helps facilitate the large PO field. End the P4/G5 season earlier. Use the ultimate ranking to identify the top 16 teams. No byes, no preferred seeding for conference champs. 16 at 1, etc. Games on the home field of higher-ranked teams before the Super Bowl or at least the semi-final games. Why should (KNOCK WOOD!) the No.1 team in the country have to travel into 'enemy territory' to play all but 1 game? Because ESPN says so. 🤪
  24. Great comments. A few thoughts. Ryan Day called the plays for the Bucks in 2021, 2022, and 2023. OSU wanted to become more physical. Chip has always featured a run-first O. Chip is stubborn. Mike West's Auburn game comparison is spot on. Two future NFL Ohio State O-line guys went down—LT Simmons vs. OBD and starting center McLaughlin in practice. If OBD lost the starters at these positions I believe Dan Lanning and Will Stein would adjust. Against one of the best D-lines in CFB, Chip did not adjust. In 2017 Ryan Day left the NFL where he coached under Chip to be Urban Meyer's play caller. Day was the interim head coach in 2018 when Meyer was placed on administrative leave for three games. Day was named head coach in 2019 when Meyer retired. From 2019 through Saturday's loss, Ryan Day has lost FIVE, CINCO, CINQUE, CINQ, FIVE Big Ten Football games. Four to Michigan, 2 of the four in years Michigan went to the 4-team playoff, and one to OBD. Day has brought in top-drawer recruiting classes year after year. He has portal picked well including 2023/24. It is not easy to bring in starting O-linemen from the portal. Will Howard played a terrific game in Eugene. Howard was a deer in the headlights vs. Michigan. Day's reliable FG kicker missed two FGs he could make in his sleep. Ohio State wins 16-13 and Buckeyes fans are ticked off over the close win but no one is calling for Day's head. If you watched the rankings show last night, you saw OHIO STATE No. 6. Michigan is not going to the Playoff; Ohio State is going to the Playoff and will host a home game, most likely on December 21st with Tennessee coming North to Columbus. The post-game antics? Win with grace and lose with dignity. But in the scheme of things, B1G WHOOP! Survive and advance in the Playoff and the Michigan loss will not be forgotten but it will be at least somewhat, forgiven. If Ohio State fired Day, he would be unemployed for a nano-second. However, and it won't be easy, Chip Kelly is past his Use By date. Day needs to return to calling plays or find an OC up to speed on today's game. The 2024 No. 1 QB recruit, 5* Julian Sayin, is waiting in the wings, along with many other studs recruited by Ryan Day.
  25. Consistency is the hobgoblin of mediocre minds. Especially, when consistently WRONG! Dis the ducks? Fine. Good luck to your HUGELY over-ranked Horns vs. UGA in the ATL. 30-15 in Austin. How about 42 to 17 in Hot Lanta!
