  1. Tonight, the Frozen Four Semifinal Games will be played. Frozen Four 2025: Where to watch NCAA hockey tournament, bracket, start time, TV channel, live stream, preview - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Denver takes on Western Michigan while Penn State faces Boston University First-time Frozen 4 participant Penn State takes on perennial college hockey power Boston University. Penn State started the season behind a B1G 8-Ball losing its first 8 conference games before turning its season around and winning the B1G Postseason Playoff and then defeating Maine and UConn to make the Frozen Four. Saturday - Big Ten Network - Noon Eastern, 9 AM Pacific - Ohio State Spring Showcase. On the Big Ten Network yesterday, Ohio State coach Ryan Day noted that this spring has seen the most contact since he arrived at Ohio State. The players are fired up about the opening game Cotton Bowl rematch vs, Texas. There will be a 'game' and not just a skills showcase as the TOSU D goes against the O. Know Thine Enemy! If you tune in to one or both events enjoy! Bonus: Oregon golfer Wyndham Clark is in the Master's Field and will be teeing it up at least on Thursday and Friday.
  2. Another 'Thank You' to my Editor. The Athletic continues to allow comments on its articles and the comments regarding the Wolverines coming in No. 1 were largely negative or censored. I expect this would be the case for any team that came in at the top. After all, 'Fan' is short for 'Fanatic.' This exercise did show that OBD is right there with the B1G's historic Big 3. When, not if the B1G goes to Eyes on the Prize and Eat What You Kill, the latter better not include home attendance. 🤓 And it also emphasized that Notre Dame is The expansion prize. Cage the Cats!
  3. Look for a B1G Rubber Duck floating in front of The Bellagio 😎.
  4. Dee Lusion, say hello to AL. 😜
  5. Thank you, Mr. Editor. I'm glad it's Melbet and not, Malbet. 😁 Two errors, both on Me. Iowa competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), while South Dakota is a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) team. This was easier when we had D1, D2, and D3. Duh. BATTER THE BOBCATS!
  6. Week 5 for OBD at Penn State is B1G for OBD. Penn State is one of two preseason ranked teams on the 2025 schedule. The other opponent is Indiana in Autzen. PSU and Indiana in Week 7, are back-to-back B1G games for Oregon. After consuming three huge cupcakes in Happy Valley, PSU has the week off before playing the Ducks. Before traveling to Beaver Stadium to play PSU, OBD plays the Beavers in Autzen. Both OBD and the Hoosiers are off in Week 6. OBD will be PSU's first test of the season. To the chagrin of PSU fans, last season's game vs. Ohio State was a B1G Noon kickoff in Beaver Stadium, not a Whiteout. If FOX stays with the same broadcast 'strategy' it used in 2024, the Oregon game will kickoff at Noon Eastern. CBS had dibs on the B1G 3:30 KO time it had in the SEC. NBC generally batted clean up with the best B1G late game. This 'strategy' led to the B1G being blown away by ESPN's coverage of the SEC. Wisely, the most impactful SEC game of the week occassionally kicked-off at 3:30 PM Eastern but on most occasions the SEC's prime games were played in prime time, 7:30 Eastern KO. In Week 5, the next B1Ggest game is Michigan at USC. I expect this game will KO at 7:30 Eastern. If as I expect, conference revenue distribution in the B1G, as it is now the case in the ACC, will be based on the number of viewers who watch a team's games. If this is the case and the B1G stays with FOX for the next media deal, B1G commissioner Petitti best negotiate more control over KO times. More folks would turn into a Penn State matchup at 12:30 or 4:30 Pacific rather than at 9 AM Pacific. For the greatest impact on both teams, I'm going first with LSU at Clemson. Brian Kelly in his four seasons at LSU has not won an opening game. Like Ole Miss last season, LSU opened up the wallet and is 2025's No. 1 ranked portal picker. With Dabo generally eschewing the portal, this is a prove-it game for Dabo and Clemson. Both teams come into this game with experienced QBs, which is rare in CFB in 2025. The Clemson Tigers close with the rivalry game at South Carolina and need to notch a win over the SEC in Clemson's Death Valley. Next, I think the game with the second longest season impact will be Notre Dame at Miami. Will Beck be all that for the Canes? Will Freeman be able to find a quality QB. Has Miami's D improved under the new DC hired away from Minnesota? Can Miami recover from an opening home loss? It better be able to because Florida visits in Week 4. Texas at Ohio State is the headliner, no doubt. But if the game is competitive I don't think the loser will be penalized up to and including Selection Sunday. Great topic. Thank You! Enjoy the CBB Championship.
  7. OREGON tied for the 26th-best odds to win it all in 2026. 2026 NCAA championship odds: Duke early favorite over Houston to win national title in March Madness next year - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM With the 2024-25 season wrapped, it's time to take an early look at the 2025-26 landscape Thanks, sports fan, for the great post. I'm always interested in what folks with money at risk think.
  8. 'B1G Dog' Ducks Schedule Ranked 8th out of 18 - Which Big Ten football team has the toughest schedule in 2025? DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Breaking and and analyzing which teams in the Big Ten have the easiest and hardest football schedules in the 2025 season. DW has Illinois with the easiest schedule and Wisconsin with the most difficult schedule. Illinois's ranking is debatable. Wisconsin's ranking is not debatable. Using the preseason SP+ rankings? Caveat - At the close of the 2024-25 season, SP+ had Ohio State on top which is fine. But 3-loss Ole Miss which missed the Playoff ranked 2nd? 🤔 Hmmmmmmmm? Like Preseason Top 25s, ranking SOS before the season plays out is a WAG. Last year, no one saw Indiana skewing up the B1G SOS rankings.
  9. Jay Williams Calls Out Schizo Champ Game Refs - 🤪 Jay Williams calls out national championship officials for calling second half like 'a ballet' - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Williams was frustrated for the players in how differently the national title game was officiated from the first half to the second.
  10. The Athletic's ($ Wall) Stewart Mandel attended yesterday's House Settlement hearing in Judge Wilkins courtroom. The Judge delayed approval of the Settlement for a brief time but Mandel believes the Judge will approve the Settlement. However, as Stewart notes, the Settlement does not resolve the issues troubling college athletics. NIL is not going away. "Boosters aren't going to stop buying recruits just because their favorite school now has $20.5 million on the ledger." Transfers - "... will not slow down unless, or until, the schools agree to enter into collective bargaining with their athletes. That seems not remotely imminent." "Congress is not going to sweep in with the magic antitrust exemption ..." The Settlement settles nothing. Along with little old Moi, the 'experts' outside of the NCAA can see this. What in particular is the Power 2 doing? The NCAA has outlived its usefulness, except for hosting post-season events. The NCAA will continue to be sued and OBD will continue to cough up its share of legal fees in what will likely be more courtroom defeats for the NCAA. No matter the cost, college lemmings are going to lemming.
  11. Along with those who bet the Under. 😍 Thanks for your great CBB posts and takes. Heck of a comeback by the Gators.
  12. About the portal. Many of, if not most of the portal studs, have been picked. But there is no poaching going on, right? 🤪
  13. SPOT ON! No title since 2016 but plenty of Final 4 chances between then and 2025. A Dozen NCAA titles at UConn. WOW! He had this season's team peaking at exactly the right time. As you so noted, two more Natty's than John Wooden. I'd like to add to your outstanding list my 'homey's, Red Auerbach's 9 titles.
  14. Mike, I like your thoughts on the Gators but I think UF is one of the hardest teams to project going into 2025. Lagway is terrific when healthy but there are concerns about his recovery from a dinged shoulder. His reps have been limited in Spring practice. Then, there is the schedule. Using The Sporting News preseason composite top 25 rankings, Florida is ranked No. 15. But first or second in 2025 strength-of-schedule. No. 4 UGA in JAX. Home vs No. 1 Texas, No. 10 Tennessee, and a trying to recover NR FSU. (Good luck Seminoles. Opening vs Bama and closing in Gainesville.) On the road in Game 3 vs. No. 8 LSU, and at No. 11 Miami the following Saturday. Also on the road vs No. 23 A+M, No. 20 Ole Miss, and NR Kentucky. But the Gators miss Bama. 😁 If Lagway is healthy I think that UF will win at Miami. But to play in the SEC Champ Game will require Billy Napier to come up with a Coach of the Year performance. Napier did do a great job last season leading a rebounding UF to a bowl game win over Tulane. Florida was wiped out in Austin last season but with Lagway, does have a shot to get revenge against Texas in Gainesville. The SEC will again be very competitive with a chance for many 2024 3-loss SEC teams to do the same in 2025. Texas? For the 2nd season in a row, the SEC has handed Texas the easiest in-conference schedule for an SEC title contender. The talent is there but the Horns lose a lot of talent to the NFL. One starter is back on the O line. Will WRs Wingo and Moore seamlessly replace Bond and Golden? And Texas also loses its 2024 starting TE to the draft. And lots of stud players on D are also off to the League. Texas stars Isaiah Bond, Matthew Golden declare for 2025 NFL Draft as Longhorns lose key offensive pieces - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Texas will have to replace its top two wide receivers entering the 2025 season The Question for 2025 - Which team is most successful in replacing starters lost from these 2024-25 Playoff teams? OBD, Texas, Ohio State, or Georgia? The 'raw materials' are there for all four teams, which will be assembled the best? Is it August yet? 😧

  17. The Ex-Governor of Massachusetts Thinks the House Settlement is Great - I Say, 'DUCK!' House vs. NCAA settlement hearing: How today could transform college sports WWW.USATODAY.COM Monday could be a decisive moment in sports as a hearing on final approval of settlement that would reshape how college athletics operates. This so-called Settlement is going to transfer more plaintiff's attorneys into the courtroom to sue the NCAA and OBD, along with. The Emperor Has No Clothes!
  18. Makhi's Back in Town + Bringing the Violence! 🥵 Noah Whittington says Makhi Hughes brings 'violence' to Oregon RB room DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon Ducks running back Noah Whittington has a lot of confidence in Tulane transfer RB Makhi Hughes.
  19. Florida opened -1.5, now down to -1. O/U 141.5. In consideration of the Houston D, I think the Under could be a solid bet.
  20. Gators -1.5. Houston vs. Florida odds: Current line, how to watch National Championship - On3 WWW.ON3.COM The odds have been released for Houston vs. Florida in the NCAA Tournament national championship game, concluding March Madness.
  21. Dennis Dodd's Take on the House Settlement. It Seems Like a Step Back. Especially for a Power 2 that does not need the NCAA. CFB runs its playoff free of the NCAA and could, at the direction of the Power 2, do so for all other sports. Revenue sharing, Livvy Dunne and more: What to know ahead of House v. NCAA settlement approval hearing - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM The era of compensating college athletes draws closer as the historic case takes one of its final steps on Monday
  22. Not Tournament Related but How About Some BBall Love for Payton Pritchard + The Olde Towne Team! Celtics' historic shooting fuels a record-breaking season WWW.YARDBARKER.COM The Boston Celtics made history on Friday night, breaking the NBA record for the most three-pointers made in a single season.
  23. Florida's Clayton is in Rare Air with Larry Bird. Walter Clayton Jr. continues to carry Florida. A title will make him a Gators legend. WWW.USATODAY.COM With 34 points vs. Auburn and 30 points in Elite Eight, Walter Clayton is the first to hit that mark in those rounds since Larry Bird did it in 1979.
  24. Depression in Durham. Duke faces fallout of epic meltdown in 'heartbreaking' Final Four loss to Houston WWW.USATODAY.COM Duke looked all set to play for the national title in the NCAA men's tournament before an epic meltdown against Houston caused a heartbreaking loss. I want the Gators to win it all for Gat. Houston to win it all for college roommates Jim Nance and Freddy Couples.
  25. After letting the players mug one another up and down the court, I didn't like the late foul call on Flagg preparing to rebound a missed free throw. Hats off to Houston for hanging in and not quitting. But for me, a huge UNLV fan when I worked in Las Vegas, the game has become more like sumo wrestling. Foul calls are based on whimsy. The play near the basket looks like a rugby scrum. (Watch out for waving cane. 😁) Thanks, 30, for all of the great CBB Tourney posts. Bill Rafferty did not like the call. Bill's seen a lot of ball. Did Cooper Flagg foul? Controversial call contributes to Duke collapse vs Houston WWW.USATODAY.COM A controversial foul call on Cooper Flagg allowed Houston to get the go-ahead free throws in a Final Four loss to the Cougars
