A 24-Team Playoff?
If 3-loss SEC teams miss this season's PO, as I believe will happen, Sankey could return to supporting Petitti's 4-4-2-2-1-3 model, which could be supported by the ACC and/or the B12, missing out on millions of dollars with a single team in the field. Having surrendered PO voting power to the B1G and the SEC, the ACC and B12 have acknowledged that there is a Power 2. A Power 2 is also borne out by the committee's rankings to date.

Black Friday Games: Discuss Egg Bowl, Georgia vs. Tech, and Texas vs. Texas A&M!
The Territorial Cup is headed south to Tucson. No. 25 Arizona 23 - ASU 7. AZ finishes 9-3, ASU 8-4. For OBD's SOS, I'm hoping AZ drops out of the top 25, and one of 8-4 Iowa or (knock wood) 8-4 UW are ranked in the committee's penultimate ranking. Neuter the Huskies!

Vandy and HC Clark Lea have agreed to extend Lea's contract and keep him in Nashville. Brian Kelly to PSU?

Black Friday Games: Discuss Egg Bowl, Georgia vs. Tech, and Texas vs. Texas A&M!
The Eyes of Texas, Sark, and Sankey are on the PO committee, and Texas wants to see Tennessee hand Vandy, a team the Horns defeated, its third loss. Ditto for LSU defeating Oklahoma to give a 3rd-loss to another team Texas defeated. 3-loss Texas would have a solid case to be ranked higher than Vandy and Oklahoma. Then: "We could have played Wazzu instead of TOSU!" But even if the above happens, Texas is ranked behind a Utah team that won today to finish 10-2, and BYU is odds-on to defeat UCF in Logan and finish 11-1 with the B12 champ game left to play. I don't think the committee would knock an 11-2 BYU out of the field with a champ game loss to Texas Tech. Texas Tech should win at W VA tomorrow to finish 11-1, but ... With the A&M loss, Georgia is now back in Atlanta next Saturday for the SEC champ game and will rematch against Alabama again if the Tide defeats Auburn. If Auburn defeats Bama, UGA will play Ole Miss. Kiffin's camp says he'll make up his mind to stay or go on Saturday. How about Lane bolts and Ole Miss under an interim coach wins the SEC and a spot in the Sugar Bowl? 🤪 OBD defeats UWho and could climb to the 5th seed, but 11-1 A&M has a win over Notre Dame, and a case for the 4th or 5th seed. A 6th seed would be just fine for the Ducks. Stay tuned. More Chaos is likely on the way.

It ain't over until... OK, it's over. With a few minutes left, the Cigs are smoking Poor Doo 56-3. And the final score is Indiana 56 - Purdue 3, One half of the conference champ game is set. Going to have to spend some cash if you want to watch the B1G title game in Indianapolis, a one-hour drive north of fraternity row. For this short a trip, no more than one six-pack per Hoosier required 🤪.

As noted by friend Solar, Dawg does not bite Man, but does sting Yellowjackets. UGA 16 -Tech 9. My guess is that Kirby knows the Smart approach is for Bama to play A&M in the SEC champ game.

A 24-Team Playoff?
Scuttlebutt has it that the B1G and the SEC are seriously considering a 24-team playoff and are working with ESPN, the ACC, and the B12 to see if the CFB calendar could be changed to make this happen in 2027. I am not here as an advocate, only as an informant. But I do note that if the NCAA had managed the 'Division 1' postseason years ago, the playoff field would have had a 24-team field. Four teams from the ACC, B1G, B12, and the SEC would be in the field. Two teams from the G6 would be included, along with six at-large teams. Using the PO committee's latest ranking, this would be the PO field. The top eight seeds would host a second-round playoff game. 1. Ohio State vs. 17 USC at 16 Texas. 2. Indiana vs. 18 UVA at 15 Michigan. 3. Texas A&M vs. 19 Tennessee at 14 Vanderbilt 4. Georgia vs. 20 ASU at 13 Utah 5. Texas Tech vs. 21 SMU at 12 Miami 6. OREGON vs. 22. Pitt at 11. BYU 7. Ole Miss vs. 23 Tulane at 10 Alabama 8. Oklahoma vs. 24 JMU at 9 Notre Dame. Other than for 'The Good of the Game', I see no reason why any conference, and Notre Dame, would not favor this format. Put the Dawgs Down in Seattle!

Lane's No. 7 Rebels don't miss a beat-down of the Cowboy Crazies, 38-19—no bowl for Miss Stark, and a worse loss for ASU in Starkville. Post-game, Lane Spur(ns) the Gators. Still no clue on whether he will Baton down LSU?

8-4 Iowa shucks the Huskers, 40-17. Thank you, H, for pointing out that the win in Iowa City in a monsoon was not insignificant. A 4-loss Iowa deserves to be ranked over a 4-loss AZ or ASU.

Not These TWO, but 11 Utes, pluck Jay's Hawks - 31-21. No. 13 Utah finishes 10-2.

Oregon Aims to Bury Dawgs, Punch Playoff Ticket in Rivalry Clash
Thank you, Jordan, for the A++ article; a great, fact-filled, and humorous read. Last season, Ohio State hosted a 1st round PO game. The Buckeyes destroyed Tennessee 42-17 in Columbus, before playing in some obscure bowl game. 🤬 A win in Seattle and 11-1 finish, guarantees a PO home game in Autzen. As you so noted, after defeating UWho (knock wood), on December 6th, please, football gods, let the Oregon players and fans watch Cigs and Bucks do battle in Indy to determine the B1G team that gets the higher one through four seeding. Thanks again, and GO DUCKS!

Don't Give Up the Ship! 9-2 Navy sank Memphis last evening, 28-17. The two losses came against Notre Dame, with Navy's starting QB out, of course, and to fellow American Conference member, North Texas. Navy has clinched a tie for 1st place in the conference and is in the (sea)hunt for the PO's G6 spot. https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/tecza-horvath-help-navy-beat-035751665.html

With Lane possibly post-game missing, will the Ole Miss players give an Egg about today's game or, will they be missing. As Nick Saban pointed out on the last GameDay, it's terrible to have the players put into this position. In this week's press conference, Kiffin said the players are 'transaction oriented' and don't care that much about who is coaching them. 🤮 Good luck to the program that makes a guy who has won nothing of note the highest paid coach in CFB history.
