In another embarrassing opener, it's TCU 48 -14 with two minutes left. Other than that, Jordon, how did you enjoy Chapel Bill's first game? UNC will be the 33rd NFL team, right? 🤮This sure looked like the Pats after Tommy left for Tampa. 😁 How about the shot of Bill without Brady working at a Dunkin' Donuts 🤣. National reaction after Bill Belichick's shocking college football debut OK, I'm piling on, but I'm a disgruntled Pats fan. Mr. UNC AD, have a really nice day. 😊

Watching the Fuskies Game and Oh Boy…
Do not sell this UW team short! UW was killing CO State stat-wise the entire game, but it only showed up on the scoreboard in the 2nd half. 513 total yards does not stink. 223 rush yards with Jonah Coleman putting up 177 of those yards is just fine. QB Demond Williams, who showed incredible guts against OBD last season, was 18 of 24 for 232 yards and a TD. I think the Over 7.5 wins is a solid bet, a bet my LV friends and I made in the preseason. UW will be far from an easy out. The yo-yo-like B1G schedule won't help the cause, but Ohio State, Illinois, and OBD had best be prepared for a 60-minute game in Seattle, against a well-coached team. On the road against Wazzu, Maryland, Michigan, Wisconsin, and UCLA are all winnable games. And Rutgers and Purdue in Seattle should be wins. This is a sleeper B1G champ and PO team that could go 10-2.

Football Dynasties: No More Moby Dick...
Great post, Gat, thank you. As Charles so noted, NIL, free agency, and now Revenue Sharing have spread talent around. However, in 2025-26, I believe we will see what we see almost every season: a team ranked in the top 6 in the preseason AP Poll winning it all. This season, how about a Yo 7! for OBD! Winning a Natty requires three or four wins against top competition and turns Cinderella into a PO Pumpkin. Watch out for Georgia. In the midst of Texas and Arch Madness and the 'no more baffling losses for Bama' rhetoric 😁, Georgia just keeps plugging away. IMO, three Nattys in five seasons would have the CFB Captain Ahabs chasing the Moby Dawgs.

Week 1 Insights that are Worth a Look
Some interesting Week 1 results based on 247 Sports 2025 Composite Roster rankings. Four of the top-10 ranked teams, No. 2 Alabama, No. 4 Texas, No. 7 Clemson, and No. 9 Notre Dame, lost in Week 1. Texas and Clemson lost to the higher-ranked No. 3 Ohio State and No. 6 LSU, Notre Dame lost to No. 15 Miami, and Bama lost to No. 19 FSU. No. 26 UCLA (?) lost to No. 44 Utah, and No. 57 Northwestern lost to No. 68 Tulane. UCLA plays the highest-ranked G5 team, No. 51 UNLV, in Vegas this Saturday. No. 42 Iowa is the underdog, +2.5, on the road at No. 71 Iowa State this Saturday - Fox Big Noon game, 9 AM Pacific and 11 AM in Ames, Iowa No. 49 Oklahoma State rides into Eugene to play No. 5 OBD on Saturday. Week 1 Insights that are Worth a Look
Saturday Blitz writer, Josh Yourish, with some very good thoughts on the first week of the 2025 season. My take on the best wins in Week 1 relies on the preseason AP Poll's best guesses. 1. Alabama Wiped Out By FSU
Without Penix, perhaps DeBoer and UW would not have won all of those one-score games that led UW to a PO spot, a one-score win over Texas, and a champ game beat down from Michigan? Penix went with DeBoer because of a Hoosiers connection. All of the terrific WRs Penix threw the ball to were not recruited by DeBoer. Recruiting at Bama under DeBoer has been very good. With this talent, there should be no no-show games. In 14 games against unranked opponents, DeBoer is 6-4. In 128 games against unranked opponents, Nick Saban went 124-4. https://rolltidewire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/crimson-tide/football/2025/06/18/alabama-football-records-unbreakable-nick-saban-derrick-thomas-bear-bryant/84259608007/ DeBoer's hire is looking more and more like the Harsin hire at Auburn. It's one thing to lose to unranked FSU; it's another thing to get punched in the mouth and out-coached in the process. Bama plays on the road against Georgia, Mizzou, South Carolina, and Auburn, and plays Tennessee, LSU, Oklahoma, and Vandy 😁in Tuscaloosa. I don't think a mega-upset will happen when Wisconsin visits in Week 3, but the Badgers will come in 2-0 and with an improved defense. You're right not to knee jerk after Week 1, but none of the predictions that Bama would turn it around in 2025 with a terrific O-line, defense, and Ryan Grubb to call the plays for Ty Simpson panned out in Tallahassee. DeBoer has a huge buyout (why these ADs do not contract for a Right of 1st Refusal if the coach gets another offer is baffling) but if Bama misses the expanded PO back-to-back, He Gone! And Danno will receive another salary bump. 😍

Three Opening Season Offensive Surprises for the Ducks
Thank you, David. And thank you, Natalie. No one appreciates an excellent editing job more than I do. What's the news on Hughes? Will OBD receive a positive ROI? I hope so, but as you noted, with or without Mahki, Will Stein has a deep RB room to work with. Great first outing from Benson. OBD sent a darn good Benson to FSU, the top RB on an undefeated Seminoles team. Wouldn't it be nice if FSU returned the favor? Love the Triple Lindy Skadoo! I said, 'Shotgun!' formation. Right out of backyard ball with the neighborhood boyz, where little brothers blocked and big bros played QB or went deep. 😁 A perfect result from a perfectly scheduled, and sold out 🤑let's get the Duck feet wet game. Lasso the Cowboys!

ESPN = Entire Sport Prognosis Nonsense
There's stupidity, and then there is stupidity on steroids, ESPN's FPI. Texas remains No. 1? Notre Dame, without playing, drops 2 spots? Unless one is trying to make bookies rich, stay away from this Fraudulent Prediction Idiocy. Right, Kalen? With apologies to Georgia, this latest poll doubles down on the embarrassment of the preseason poll, which ranked SEC Texas No. 1, Georgia No. 2, and Alabama No. 3, and eight SEC teams in the top 12, with Florida at No. 13. There's bias, and then there's Bias from Bristol, where the FPI is not sharp as a pistol. Of course, the then No. 14 USC would have a lot of MOmentum as the result of blowing out MO. State and jump eight spots to No. 6. Right? As to Archie's debut in Columbus, where he had more appearances in advertisements than he did TD passes, nothing to see here, move right along. SC defeats Georgia State this Saturday, a team that Week 1's, woefully underrated 🤪 No. 10-ranked Ole Miss bombed 63-7, and South Central should be the home of the highest-ranked It Just Means Less team. Any caring person would take the poor FPI to the Programming Doctor for a wellness check. 😁 But ESPN and Greg Sankey will carry on using this 🤬to justify the SEC's six at-large teams in the 2025-26 12-team PO. Mercy!

Alabama Wiped Out By FSU
Norvell hit the transfer portal lottery in 2023, was portal-pathetic in 2024, and looks to have hit the lottery again in 2025 with a QB who lacks the offseason love of DJU, but is far more athletic. Plus, Norvell made two great coaching hires. Bringing in Gus Malzahn (a name that lives in OBD infamy 🤬) from his head coaching job at UCF, where he was treading water, to coach up QB Castellanos and implement a 21st-century offense, and DC Tony White from Nebraska, looks to be (in a possible Week 1 overreaction) two terrific hires. Again, it was only Week 1, but the Nebraska D that carried the Huskers to a bowl game and a winning record last season did not look as cohesive versus Cincinnati as it did last season. FSU looked gritty, focused, and determined. The highly touted Bama O-line? Meh. FSU hosts Miami, Pitt, and VA Tech. Plays tough games at Clemson and Florida, but misses SMU and Louisville. The Seminoles have a very good chance of playing for an ACC title. And if Bama does figure it out, Saturday's win could have an impact on PO seeding.
