  1. How about: 'I'll be glad when the Cristobal era is over.' This would seem to indicate to me that you would be happy if he was gone now? Is this an unreasonable interpretation?
  2. What's wrong with CFB? 1 thing for certain, a coach can no longer have any private time with his team in the locker room post-victory. Everything goes public. Everything becomes part of the unsocial media circle jerk. Maybe MC relieved on his players to be smart enough to keep a private moment private? It is of course your opinion which I respect, but if this is a fire-able offense? You call it juvenile, I see it as a comment to his troops after a hard fought victory. And I had no right to see it all.
  3. If you are referring to the LSU at Bama game, yes, I watched Bama struggle in the first half and almost choke away the lead in the last 3 minutes. I watched Oregon struggle in the 1st half and control the game from thereon with an 'in your face UW!, late TD overturned. BTW: Arguing? In my POV, NO. Having fun? YES.
  4. I wouldn't bet the house. But at A+M the place Bama lost? I'd give the Ducks a chance and if LSU tripped to Autzen I think the Ducks would have tamed these Tigers (tamed by UCLA) easier than did Bama in Tuscaloosa?
  5. HUH? He waited to drop shade until after a win and after the victory. Do you want a door mouse coaching the Ducks. In this PO day and age coaches have to speak up for their teams. Do you think Saban would be OK if a close win against LSU dropped the Tide in the polls?
  6. The games to remember are played in November but the only ranking that matters comes in December.
  7. Yogi? How about NO! Thanks for giving a homer goose to the Ducks but the records are the same. Bama plays in the SEC and Bama lost to a PO ranked team, A+M, that will be moving up in the PO rankings on Tuesday. Bama has a top 25 W vs Ole Miss. And with it being in the SEC, after its W vs Kentucky yesterday TENN could be ranked? Ducks lost to a TERRIBLE Stanford team. The L on The Farm could keep a 12-1 Ducks out of the final 4? And Fresno losing? There goes the Ducks 2nd top 25 win.
  8. 1. 9-0 GEORGIA- Thank you Kirby for (barely) calling off the Dawgs. I had MIZZU +38 and covered by 1 point. UGA D has not surrendered more than 14 points this season! 2. 8-1 ALABAMA - Bama is far from a complete team. As I thought would happen LSU took Bama to the very end of the game. But it's Bama, so the Tide will stay at 2. However, the Tide has yet to face a brutal New Mexico State team in Tuscaloosa! (And Orgon has to play on the road at Utah instead of NM ST at home? Savvy PO scheduling Pac-12 , very savvy.) 3. 8-1 OREGON - On the road against a .500 rival and in crummy weather Oregon covered. Not helped by the Fresno loss to Boise. Ditto the Beavs L to the Buffs. Not long term helped by the bad L on The Farm which is looking worse every Saturday. On a rainy day I am most happy for the W and the cover. Just Win Ducks! 4. 8-1 OHIO STATE - Thank goodness for a great back up WR and a spot on FG kicker; Oregon's signature win was on the brink. IMO, no way Frost should not get another year. 5. 9-0 CINCINNATI - After a 3 hour whine party hosted by ESPN, with Desmond bringing the cheese, the Bearcats were lucky Tulsa didn't steal the main course. 6. 8-1 MICHIGAN STATE - Purdue put a stamp on its giant killer reputation and with Minnesota's loss the Boilermakers are in the running for a B1G W title. 7. 8-1 MICHIGAN - Defeated Indiana handily; far more convincingly than did Cincinnati. 8 9-0 OKLAHOMA - Idle - Stretch run coming against Baylor, Iowa State and Oklahoma State. SOS took a hit yesterday with the Baylor loss at TCU. 9 8-1 NOTRE DAME - Sunk the Middies far more impressively than did Cincy. Is there an impressive win on this schedule? Weakest ND schedule in years. USC and Stanford? 10 8-1 OKLAHOMA STATE - A beat down of a tough opponent on the road at West Virginia. Gave up but 133 yards of offense to W VA. Hurt by the L at Iowa State but still very much in the running for the B12 title. OOC win at Boise is looking better. It's a 7-2 team but after throttling 13 Auburn yesterday and with the win over Bama, plus playing in THE SEC!, A+M could move into the top 10? Ditto, 7-2 Mississippi? 13 Auburn, 17 Mississippi State and 18 Kentucky all lost yesterday. But dollars to donuts the SEC will still have 7 ranked teams come Tuesday?
  9. Yesterday's news. The Ducks on Tuesday night will ne ranked at 3. 8 top 25 teams lost yesterday including 3 and 10. All of these predictions are simple guess work authored by the particular programming that was uses.
  10. CONGRATS! Now take advantage of the prize! Being last week's champ, I was able to pay $5 for a Grande Latte at Starbucks. Then again, maybe that's what I usually pay? I'm having a Senior Moment! SERIOUSLY - thanks Steven for all of the Moderating help + the great posts.
  11. THAT was a Great Win! A conference win on the road against a rivalry opponent? A Great Win! Ugly? YES. But under the circumstances: PO ranked 4; rivalry game vs a pumped up team; crummy weather and rallying back from a start with terrible field position and shaky QB play? Heck of a win! And thank you Ducks for the cover in the rain. 2 Bama looked shaky. As I thought would happen, LSU really pressed this incomplete Tide team. 5 Ohio State needed a heck of a game out of a back up wide receiver and a heck of of game by its FG kicker to survive Lincoln. 6 Cincinnati, rudely served up no main course; this, after a whole lot of ESPN, pre-game whine. 3 Michigan State and 10 Wake Forest both lost on the road. 8 of the Committee's top 25 lost. (Including unfortunately Fresno. but hats off to Andy Avalos for taking down BYU and Fresno.) JUST WIN DUCKYS!
  12. Utah basically wrapped up the Pac-12 S last night. ASU is 2 back and the Utes won the head to head vs ASU. But with 3Ls playing in this conference and not the B1G or SEC, it will be difficult IMO for Utah to be ranked before the Utes play the Ducks? I don't want Utah to defeat Oregon and be ranked because that means no PO for Oregon and no $6M for the conference. Take the L vs OR and I doubt Utah will be ranked going into the champ game? In Utah's favor, the Ls to BYU + SDS are both 'decent top 25 Ls.' Most of the conference teams with the notable exception of Oregon, shot themselves in the foot OOC. A really bad showing OOC.
  13. DUCKS 38 - dogs 21, 3, 1, 200 Super-Super Tie Breaker - I'll take the Over on the # of fans attending tonight's game compared to last night's "crowd" at the Utah/Stanford game.
  14. PUP! I recall watching Bill play at UCLA when you were not allowed to dunk the ball. Before the 3 point shot.
  15. Desmond? Clueless? I'm shocked! SOS? SOR? Nothing to see here Desmond, move right along.
  16. Here is what the line up would be using the PO Committee Week 1 rankings and the models of the proposed 12 and 8 team playoffs. 12 - 1. UGA - SEC vs 9 Wake Forest ACC at 8 Oklahoma B12 2. MI ST - B1G vs 10 Notre Dame AL at 7 Michigan AL 3. OREGON - Pac-12 vs 11 OK ST AL at 6 Ohio State AL 4. CINCINNATI - AAC vs 12. Baylor AL at 5 Alabama AL 8 - ! UGA - SEC vs 8 Wake ACC 2. Bama - AL vs 7 OK - B12 3. MI ST - B1G vs. 6 -Cincinnati - G5 4. Oregon - Pac-12 vs 5 Ohio State AL
  17. Great take. I kind of liked the Basketball Tournament being played in one general location? As you so correctly note the Pac-12 needs the additional CFB PO expansion dues. Go to 12! If the Pac-12 champ can't qualify that's on the conference and the champ. And do the smart thing for once play 8 regularly scheduled conference games and especially with no expansion in sight drop divisions. Use the NIL approach to pay guys who play in PO games. 12 team field will only rarely produce a team that plays 17 games.
  18. Great read. Thanks David. The ABC crew for Saturday nights UW game? It's the crew led by Mark Jones. The crew that laid cupcakes on the sideline representing UW's OOC schedule, while failing to mention that Wisconsin canceled out on a H+H with UW. ESPN apologized to the then President of UW for the 'childish behavior' of the crew. This crew was never again supposed to do a UW game. They will likely fall all over themselves pumping up UW? Combined record of the 4 teams UW has defeated in 2021? 7-25. So, if you want to say something nice you definitely have to reference 2020 when UW never played a game on the road.
  19. Spot on by Jon Wilner! Although why the need to dump on good old BP Community College? I think that Lake initially went the CC route and played for the BPCC Fighting Bumpkins? More from Wilner. UW's 4 wins have come against teams with a combined record of 7-25. Wilner also picks the Ducks to cover the now -7 in Seattle. And I love the shade Schill dropped on Lake by referring to former coach Chris Peterson as having been an excellent coach.
  20. After 2 days of meetings the conferences involved in the playoff and Notre Dame, could not reach consensus regarding PO expansion. The Alliance with the ACC being the most adamant, want an 8 team PO with 5 P5 champs and a G5 representative guaranteed a spot. Apparently the Pac-12 is OK with 8 or 12? I have no idea why the B1G would oppose a move to 12 but so far the B1G is in the 8 team camp. And the B1G along with the Pac-12 wants assurance that the Rose Bowl will be part of an expanded PO with the game played on 1/1 and kicking off at 5 PM eastern. The G5, the SEC and Notre Dame want a 12 team field. The powers-that-be have agreed to meet again on 12/1/21 to again discuss PO expansion. Why? I have no idea? I am not certain that there will ever be a consensus at 8 or 12, even though either choice would bring in a lot more money? I think the B1G in particular wants its B1G Network partner FOX, being able to bid for expanded PO broadcast rights. As of now ESPN owns exclusively owns the PO media rights through 2025, although ESPN has apparently signaled a willingness to amend the current agreement should the field expand prior to 2026. Apparently the ACC is not in concert with its media partner, ESPN? ESPN owns the ACC Network and the ACC media rights through 2036. Will the PO go away in favor of an ACC, B1G, Notre Dame and Pac-12 Run For The Roses? Things would not be as lucrative without the SEC but I believe the ACC, B1G and Pac-12 are fed up with the SEC and ESPN and also, Notre Dame?
  21. Thanks, good stuff. Wish the kid well. But my guess? Before he entered the portal he was in touch with BYU one way or another? I'm not entering the portal with the goal of transferring to a particular school, no matter how good I am, before making sure that the school has a scholly available and that the coaches at the school want my services. With today's CFB 'free agency,' you can bet that there is a lot of under-the-table recruiting going on. Bama needed a WR and a LB. "Coincidentally," a 5* WR transfers in from Ohio State and a 2nd team all SEC LB as a true frosh, transfers in from Tennessee. Think Bama had any 'contact' with these 2 before they entered the portal?
  22. Open mouth, insert foot. If you are going to yap, best do the yapping after the game.
  23. At A+M you can bet they will be pushing the SEC, the 90,000+ fans at A+M games, the ESPN/SEC network, the # of players the SEC sends to the NFL and the # of players A+M has sent to the NFL since Jimbo arrived. A legit shot at the PO and playing in a 'real football conference' and not in what really is a G5 conference. Playing at a time of day where folks nationwide will watch and be able to watch on a real media platform and not on the functionally insolvent Pac-12 Network. This, and probably a nice NIL deal with an A+M booster? 100,000 people attend the games UT plays in Austin. UT is headed to the SEC and UT boosters have very deep pockets. I wouldn't bank on Banks playing in Eugene? What Mario has done is amazing. But any kid with an in-state SEC offer is going to be very tough for Mario to close. The kid from Arkansas is an example. Of course, the word 'commitment' as used in CFB, is a joke. I don't get too juiced up about recruiting before the early signing day. These are talented young people who will be pursued up to the moment when they sign and truly commit.
  24. Why would anyone leave the SEC for an uncertain future in the 'new' B12? MS ST has 3Ls and is ranked 17. Not happening at TX Tech.
