  1. We play Ga next year and if this guy can keep us in the game with less than a blowout -Then I will be impressed.
  2. That all may be true but I wouldnt expect results for at least 2 years. New coaches new players new systems -growing pains. I suppose that would be true with any coach we hired though.
  3. Our players will have to learn a whole new system on both offense and defense so Im figuring next year will be pretty tough as far as wins go. Maybe in 2 or so years with some of his recruits in place we will get back to being a contender. But what happens when another team offers 9 mil? So what Im getting at is that while this maybe exciting right now for some its not really any different than if you hired a Chip Kelly type, it turns out the same. My problem isnt with Lanning its with the current system of college football. I know I should take it one day at a time. Go Ducks.
  4. Hopefully he knows a thing or 2 about offense.
  5. Time will tell the story. His success will be measured in wins and losses. Im not happy about it but Im not unhappy about it. I learned my lesson with Taggert.
  6. Only time will tell if this was a success for both him and the Ducks. He is from the Show Me State Im from the Show Me State.
  7. Lets win some games, if he does that Im on board
  8. Looks like hes the guy so we will wait and see what happens
  9. Also if Im a DC I think it would be much easier to recruit for Ga than Oregon which is more known as an offense oriented program.
  10. IMO a top 15 School like Oregon shouldnt have a problem hiring a proven head coach.
  11. This would not be a good hire-I agree!
  12. Chip Proved he take take a good team and make it great, Lanning has proved he can make an already great team play to their expectations. Whoopy doo.
  13. I think somebody has cold feet.
  14. Ga sure has some great defensive players thats for sure.
  15. Since we are speculating -----Lannings players make him look good. The Ga defense are very athletic monsters, and they are 2 and 3 deep. That will take several years to accomplish at ANY PAC school incl USC much less Oregon. We have some big guys but not nearly as fast and strong as Ga does on the whole.--So the question is will he be able to bring the same results to our Ducks in a short time period?
  16. Until we know who he would bring in can we really speculate as to this?
  17. He is no doubt a very good DC but......Can he be a CEO? can he get in the face of both DCs and OCs? Can he recruit high octane offensive players? Can he make in game adjustments to the Offense?
  18. If he hires someone in the less than 4 mill range I think hes decided that hes tired of throwing $$ at the program. Maybe thats why Mullens has included other boosters into the decision?
  19. You are probably right But I dont think Lanning is our man any more than Bellotti. He has NO experience as a HEAD coach. Thats just not good enough IMO.
  20. Why is that funny? These other coaches will stick for maybe a year or 2, once their offered more they will be out the door. I think most good recruits are looking for stability.
  21. Personally I would love Bellotti to come back for 3 years or so. Develop in house once again.
