won't use Amazon unless absolutely have to. Don't like what he's done to retailers/shopkeepers around the world. Guess I'm an old dog facing new tricks but it's come down to the principle of what's best for the local retail community. Bezos is wildly successful, but horribly obnoxious in oh so many ways. I'll listen to Jerry and Jorgy before I bow to the Bezos option. Streaming elsewhere is an option but frankly, the way most sports have become hitched to the magnitude of the almighty $$$ dominating has turned me off. Don't watch NFL (other than Chargers), NBA (ever) and most College football........ Golf is the lone outlet now. There must be a fishing channel somewhere and of course 50s and 60s TV and movies. Bah humbug

Good News, Duck Fans: We’re Going to the Rose Bowl
FG Lumber replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Then there was 1994. Started out with a victory over Portland State but then lost to both Hawaii and Utah (both ugly losses)........ After that it was a bad loss to WSU Oct 8 but went undefeated & won the Pac 10 and went to the Rose Bowl on Jan 2, 1995. -

In 2022...Do Cheerleader Photos Inspire or Offend?
FG Lumber replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Some people want to infer the most negative about any scenario. Others see the glass as half full or better. For better or worse (bump and grind etc) it's part of the game day experience. Leading cheers has changed over the years. One year at Stanford they had a particularly fun cheer as after a bad Oregon play the Stanford cheer team came up with "The Ducks have lost their down".......or from the 50s "harass them, harass them, make them relinquish the ball" Boy how things have changed. -
Bennett Williams--Oregon’s 2022 All-Pac-12 Safety

That should be Chad Cota, not his son Chase who is a WR this yr at Oregon -
Talk About Justin Flowe Being Drafted? Come On!
FG Lumber replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
He needs to establish a resume that includes continuing good health (not injury prone) and on field excellence. Neither has been established to any degree. Two full seasons under his belt would go a long way to getting him to the next level. -
Oregon Will Not Pay Top-NIL for QBs: Should They?
FG Lumber replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Could it be that our coaches are quite satisfied with the QBs already on campus and are keeping their powder dry in order to use it further down the road. -
Oregon-Georgia: I’m Betting on a Close Game

I can't find fault with the line.....but our Duckies will have to prove them wrong. -
Hilarious Herbert Naysayers Get Embarrassed by Video, Whew!

now that was worth seeing. Thanks Charles -
I think it's almost like the professionals and pro sports "free agency" and it's about to become untenable. Hit the Transfer portal to see who'll bid on your services? The athletes in college aren't signing contracts like the pros do. I'm afraid it's a death knell to the game we grew up watching with so much passion. Fan loyalty is far greater than student athlete loyalty and those young minds, especially those from unfortunate backgrounds. "Get the $$$ from whoever offers the best deal"??? You betcha. It's inevitable that fan loyalty will diminish over time as well. With a lot fewer millennials interested in sports, the fan base will diminish over time. It's not over yet but I don't think the NCAA has many years left to salvage what we know as college football.

Learning About Lanning: “This is a VERY HARD Program”
FG Lumber replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Sounds like the "training" the Navy Seals go through. The best of the best. It'll be interesting to see how the players react. -
found his interviews usually interesting.....probing even. Signed up for the newsletter. Don't always agree with him but he does writes well and interviews well.

My folks took me to Hayward Field when I was a junior in high school at Medford High. Year was 1963 and I watched the Ducks beat OSU on a beautiful day. Won 31-14 even though Mel Renfro couldn't play. Dave Wilcox and Co. were terrific. Hooked me then

I have enjoyed Justin Herbert's success........other than that, I could give a darn (I cleaned that up a mite). NBA??? No Way

Washington is still potentially a good story of success. They have great funding, some history and a big recruiting area. I don't think they are a sleeping giant but they are still a program to be feared in the future. I don't like them but let's be real, they are our main rivals and they despise Oregon. So....don't be over confidant........but it will be fun to run them out of Autzen this fall.

A Quote From a Newly Reclassified 2022 5* (Possible Duck?)
FG Lumber replied to Flyin Vee's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
sounds like an NIL bidding war. Does Oregon's "support group" have the dinero?
