  1. The renovation in 2019 brought the capacity from 92,000 to 77,000. Expect the next renovation to take seating from 77,000 to 50,000 to meet Riley's stated goal of filling the stadium. The previous stadium renovation added cupholders, expect tissue dispensers next time. This will help with the emotional rollercoaster ride the sc fans will be experiencing going forward.
  2. Another OC to think about is Garrett Riley, SMU OC, Lincoln's brother. With Sunny Dykes gone the guy is basically a free agent. I am all about going after a threat head first, with aggression. If Garret is serious about becoming a head coach, there is not better place to cut your teeth.
  3. They haven't won with a new stadium, and they are still located in Compton. Also Pete Carroll left after the program was out of control and sanctioned. Riley will, as all of the coaches who coach the spoiled enabled student athletes sc draws, have a hard time controlling the culture at sc. Coaching in Oklahoma isn't the same as coaching in LA. He may thrive, but he may also have a hard time controlling the culture at sc.
  4. First off, best of luck to Coach Moorhead. I think the Akron job is a brilliant move on his part. Too many coaches just want to keep climbing the ladder without knowing where they are going. Moorhead is returning to where he knows and undoubtedly loves, well done! Thanks for giving it your all while at Oregon. Tough job though, the school hasn't had a coach with a winning record in about 50 years! Great list and article, lots to ponder. The immediate question is how focused will Moorhead be and will he stay at Oregon through the bowl game? Will Mastro already be the O-coordinator by the time the season ends? He definitely has been interviewing for the job for while.
  5. It is having an impact on many programs, Oklahoma most impacted. I think, in the end, it will help Oregon. Oregon has struggled against mediocre competition. With sc no longer being mediocre, Oregon will need to up its game and undoubtedly will. I think one thing we need, all of the Pac-12 needs is to go to an 8 game conference schedule. Until then the conference will continue to suffer. George needs to get to work, and make some things happen. It is interesting a coach who has had so much success at an elite program decides to move to the Pac-12. Definitely something we will have to digest over time. I am definitely not talking about the Fresno State coach leaving, that isn't surprising.
  6. All the best to the Cristobal family, and know the Duck Family is behind you! Just get out of Florida, it makes us nervous!
  7. I think the magic of Cristobal's recruiting is finding every student athlete who dreams of being a Duck. You have to cast a large net to get all the elite talent willing to leave home, and come to Eugene. You bring up a great point with all the open jobs, and programs in disarray, Oregon looks even better. One of the problems was, as To'oto'o said, the Pac-12 wasn't competitive enough for him to stay out west. We need to solve this problem while keeping kids on the west coast, and keep pulling them from the rest of the country. I truly think sc getting a coach who might even have a competitive program will only help the Ducks in the end. I suppose it helps the Pac-12 even more, but it helps the Ducks too. The other piece is keeping together a competitive coaching team. Players play better after a few years in a program, and coaches coach better after a few years in a program. We need to keep continuity as much as possible.
  8. If I was Cristobal I would be reaching out to every sc recruit and Oklahoma recruit, again. I think the Oregon Football Program looks very good looking backward and forward as compared to sc.
  9. I will let you know Friday! To answer directly it was, but the proof is doing it in consecutive games. Part of the fun is fooling the other team, and keeping them guessing. We need to keep that creativity. I want Oregon to, again, be the program you might know what they are going to do, but you can't stop them, execution. We also need to be that program where nobody has the answer to the question of Oregon Football.
  10. The main problem has been talent leaving the Pac-12. JTT leaving, DJU leaving, To'oTo'o leaving and unwilling to come back. With SC in the mix kids will stay and the Pac-12 will be more competitive. Cristobal will have to sharpen his game on and off the field. As he says iron sharpens iron, we need more iron in the Pac-12, there have been too many dawgs laying around. I also have no problem with the beavs being the other good team in the north. The dawgs can win the preseason, but continued disappointment come game time is fine with me.
  11. Replacing Helton with Riley was unexpected by me, that is for sure, kudos to Bohn. I did some Bohn bashing, and it looks like he may have made two good hires in a row. The problem is Helton had built a leaky barge. Riley has some work to do to make this barge move like the sc fans will want it to. Riley may want to make the barge move nimbly, but you have to remake the whole structure to do that. This is also the best thing that could happen to Oregon and the Pac-12. Having a competitive sc gives Oregon legitimacy when they crush the trojans. Lastly George's job just got a lot easier. If he can keep all the pieces together and put together some revenue for the schools then the Pac-12 might just be back.
  12. I wish his mother well. Tough to be coaching while your mother is not well. I don't like the idea he is flying 'home' that one doesn't make sense. Home should be Eugene, if he is all green and yellow, right? With that comment I would check the hospitals, itinerary make sure he isn't headed to Gainesville?
  13. I think Smith may have been trying to channel Chip, but the call went through to Helfrich.
  14. 1 hr. 20 minute flight from SLC 2 hr 10 minute flight from PDX, negligible difference. The student body might take the drive though, noise factor, good point!
  15. So many have questioned Cristobals calls, that one was plain brainless by Smith. I doubt anyone would agree with that call, except Helfrich years ago.
  16. He is a puzzling passer. He makes some tough throws and then is way off. The good news is the receivers are giving it there all and that is enough for now. I like our chances, but the ball will have to bounce correctly, not like on the onside.
  17. Amazing Bama, can't score until the 4th quarter. Bama 2021 shouldn't go to the playoffs, but undoubtedly will be included.
  18. The new standard is beat the dawgs, the beavs and win the Pac-12 Championship Game. We are almost there. Is this the new standard, and did anyone think we would be in this spot?
  19. Need to pay attention to this one, tied up in overtime. Alabama has lost it's offense 17-17.
  20. As an assistant to Big Joe. Coach O can bring in the big boys.
  21. Does Oregon want to go to the Rose Bowl, have pride? Plenty to play for on Friday. I say they show up, and make it a game. The Utes think they own us, won't have the edge they had last time, at home. The bigger question is Sewell, not that he has ever been stopped, but we need him, badly. I give AB kudos, warrior with the ball! He made some nice passes, and will have to this Friday.
  22. I love the passion, but the beavs are looking like Erickson's thugs. I suppose the beavs are puling in fringe players, but Smith needs to control those kids.
