A gutty 8 and 1. Just think how many more ground yards the Ducks would have amassed if Verdell were running against the Huskies last night.

The early miscues were the ugly interception and, in my mind, the poor decision to not have a returner back to catch the punt which culminated into the questionable safety. Nine points that were stuck on the scoreboard for a long time, were surmountable. I loved seeing AB go after it and prevent the TD after the bad pass. I love his guts! He's a warrior. I can see why his teammates love him. He's willing to chance getting injured. He's had two major knee injuries but he still risks another for the sake of the team. That's courageous! I'm starting to feel like there are stats that don't account for the intangibles (I KNOW that's basically the definition of intangible, LOL.). But it seems he almost always comes up with some play that cancels out his miscues. And so does the team overall. As I look back, I didn't have that bad feeling I've had as a Duck fan watching those miscues. I felt uncomfortably confident, they would right the ship.

Lake: "Let's see...we only have 3 options. 1. Go for it, convert, and with the refs help get into overtime and win. 2. Fail to convert and give my nemesis a chance to score again. 3. Punt the ball, flip the field, and with the refs help get into overtime and win." Center: "I have an idea coach! See ya!"

Stanford was deplorable. Horrible "tackling ". In quotes because they literally looked like they were throwing the game to me because they seemed late to the ball and weren't wrapping up. I was expecting a lot more from them. The scores in their previous games were respectable. Anyway, Whittingham's teams over the years seem to be very inconsistent. When they bring their A game, they can defeat anyone. Then they don't show up the next week. I think they'll be very tough at home. One of the more bizarre games the Ducks ever played was in SLC in 2014. The Ducks, 9-1 were rated 4th and the Utes, 6-3 were rated 17th. This is the game where Brown was injured so badly, his life was in danger. And there was the bizarre non-TD by Utah because the WR dropped the ball short of the goal line and Oregon ran it back for a 100 yard fumble recovery TD. I'm hoping Oregon is still rated 4th and Utah is rated 17th and the Ducks take care of business and there are no injuries.

I get the feeling the same people responsible for deciding whether or not to eliminate the CFP invitational are also responsible for deciding whether or not to eliminate the time change.

Leach Back to Texas Tech? "They Still Owe Me for 2009"

I'm not from Texas, but I think somethings not right when Mike Leach is not coaching Texas Tech. -
Coaching Carousel: See Texas Longhorns Football. I'm not from Texas. But when Texas is not in the top 10, something seems off.

Huskies Have Nation's Best Passing Defense Ready for Ducks

Actually, it might have been Darron Thomas in 2011. The Ducks won, whichever year, but the ball was wet. During a pass it slipped out much like it did for Jameis Winston during the CFP game. I'd rather see the stallions run on Saturday. -

Looks to be a wet game, too. I seem to recall Mariota throwing a complete whiff in Seattle one wet, cold, and dark night. -
No Thanks: ESPN Predicts Ohio State-Oregon Rematch
nw777b replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don't want to lose a boat, but I think I have the same perspective as Mike. Basically, if I am shooting to be THE BEST, then I want to fear no one. I don’t think the Ducks are good enough, yet, to win it all, but if they need to play OSU again or Georgia or whomever and they get their teeth knocked in, they'll learn from first hand experience what it is like to play at the the "next level". And if they win or play competitively, it will boost confidence. It is a win/win. Alabama, Georgia, OSU, etc. didn't get "there" by playing ACC teams all season, for example. -
College Football Championship Selection Committee Protocol

I've always said if someone started a 16 team NIT for the CFB teams outside the top 4 Cfp teams starting in early December, ESPN's CFP would fold. -
