  1. 2 pts is a win by Ducks. Doesn't look like the utes will be able to move the ball today.
  2. Weather delay in Kansas on FOX. Could delay Ducks Utes Broadcast. Boo
  3. LB play is going to be vital. One of Jacobs forte is rush defense. Looking for him to have a strong game. Taki, Popo and Casey Rogers can plug up the interior pretty well. Ducks Biggest issue is on the edge. I like the idea of man and perhaps a spy on the RB. Maybe Bassa and Hill as spy but I think you have to let Jacobs play free.
  4. Okie and Kansas both fail on 4th down attempts. Okie fails at in the red zone. Seems to be the modern game. A lot of teams are bucking the norms of " take the points"
  5. Git a pretty solid Saturday of great games. Okie v Kansas UGA : Fl Tennessee v. Kentucky OSU v. Az As I post this Jayhawks get a pic 6
  6. Kirk and Desmond picked Ducks. The Ute honk and McAfee utes
  7. There is a sign that says "Bryson Barnes Farms Bo Nix's Mom" Where was this guys friends when he made that sign. Low class for sure.
  8. Many, with a straight face, did exactly that when Bo was brought in last year. I was in the minority last year with my takes on the Nix transfer. Looks like I am in the minority again. Seems to be a good place to be.
  9. This is a great topic. Tallent acquisition and player development are 2 key components in the future success of OBD. Especially going into the B1G. I could be wrong but I think we are already seeing this quality in the development of guys like Boettcher, Tez, Evan Williams and even Bo Nix. I could list more but the point is made. Utah is a highly respected team among the Duck fan base. KW is talked about very highly. Dude is a great coach. Utes will be my second favorite team once they leave for the B12. Player development is a huge factor in Utes success. KW and his staff have emerged to be some of the best teachers in the CFB. I think Whit is brilliant as a HC. I made some comments about QB2 on another thread. This topic was an underlying idea behind why I made the comments I did. From what I have seen of qb2 this year is night and day different from past years. The guy is actually being developed it seems. Unfortunately, the damage done by the last staff had to be undone first. One more thing to bolster Charles ponderings (haha). Ducks have landed verbals from a ton of Blue Chips. Many of these kids talk about their position coaches ability to develope them at their respective position. It seems to be a common theme. I know Lanning and his staff leave no rock unturned. I know they preach developing and getting better at every level, including coaching. It's the 1% mantra. Utes develope at an elite level. It's proven year after year. I appears that Lanning and his staff are well on their way as well. Go Ducks!
  10. As was Thompson, freshman year under Mariø was not helpful. Followed by 2 years behind Nix. It's unfair to grade Thompson with that history. Put the 1's around him making plays and I think Thompson will thrive. He will gain confidence and with 2 years eligibility, he can be an above avg to very good QB his senior year (25 season). With the trajectory Oregons D is on, it could be enough to get into playoff and take a run at the NC. TT could be just as good as Stetson Bennett (above avg). TT has a huge arm and above avg legs. He looked like a QB in the games he has seen this year.
  11. I agree no self respecting Duck would, but you are a Utes fan so its all good.
  12. It would be intersting to know how many here agree with kirkland and kamikaze on bringing in a seasoned QB out of the portal. When Bo was brought in the consensus seemed to be that most wanted Oregon coaching staff to play Ty. The argument often was that being recruited by Ducks, Ty was a true Duck and he was our 5*. I remember grumblings about how Oregon keeps bringing in grad transfers. Fans wanted Oregon recruits developed into stars and thought that was what was going to get Ducks to the promise land. An argument I don't fully disagre with. Seems the thought on this has flipped a bit. I remember getting into some mildly heated debates here about the Bo Nix acquisition. Some great points were made in opposition to my view on the Nix transfer. I find myself in opposition with kirkland and kamikazi. This puts me on the other side of what I argued in my pro Nix argument... kind of. I think Ty is ready to lead. He has all the skill sets needed to play the position at an elite level. He has been poised in the limited snaps he has played. For the first time, he looks the part With another spring and fall camp, I think TT will be more than capable of leading this team. Even with the massive expectations put on the Ducks by its Alum and fan base. I don't think it is vital that Oregon grabs another plug and play elite QB. Of course I wouldn't object, but I think Ty is ready to ball out next year.
  13. I think McAfee would cry before he got to the bottom of the mountain riding shotgun in my mule train. Dudes a joke. CGD compleatly disrespected Lanning letting fusky crowd drown him out. Waisted Lannings time with that crap. I hope Lanning blows them off. They don't deserve a minute of his time
  14. I think Ducks come ready to play. Much like they did v. Fusky. Utah offense isn't good despite the mirage of being 6-1. The UU D is very good though, however the Duck O will play their best game of the season whether the statistical results show or not. Haven't pinned it down yet, I will do that for the prediction contest. But I am in the ballpark of Ducks winning 32-13/35-17. Somewhere in that range. CAUTION: I am 0-20 in the prediction contest. So you might not want to listen to me.
  15. He played right guard last year and has been a great C this year. Still a lot of football left in 23. Who knows how far he can climb. Versatile across the interior can only help. JPJ was a 4* coming out of high school. He has lived up to his star ranking. I think he still has another level. Terry has shown to be a great teacher and coach at such a young age, JPJ will only benifit with another year under Terry.
  16. Some of the mock drafts have him late rouds and UDFA. Lot of football to be played though.
  17. The most important part of all plays is the Center/QB exchange and QB exchange has been phenomanal this year. JPJ not only starts the play, he is often pulling and leading his back down field. His Superman was epic. Only thing missing was the cape. The question is whether he stays for his senior year. Will Division Street open the checkbook? JPJ is an absolute Dude, his importance to the team is on par with anyone, with the only exception being Nix. Hope he gets a fat check, he has earned it. jackson+powers+johnson+superman - Google Search WWW.GOOGLE.COM
  18. Ok, I respectfully disagree. Take away the horrid defenses of Cal and USC and that number drops to below 20 ppg. Utes had a better O last year and Ducks had a worse D. Utes only managed to hang 17 on the Ducks in a 20-17 loss with a hobbled Nix. A healthy Nix keeps Utes O off the field much longer and are forced to put up more points, imo. Ducks D went from bottom of college football last year to top 20 this year. Utes are still broken. Hanging 34 (season highs) on SC and Cal is in no way proof that Utes offense is no longer broken imo.
