  1. "...I just want to show that to other people. If I’m making their lives better, that’s why I do it.” People with this mindset are special people. It wasn't untill I was in my late 30's that I learned this. It is the corner stone of every relationship, at all levels, that I have. Makes all the difference. Bo Nix is a different Dude. We are lucky to have him in Green and Yellow. What a pleasure to root for this young man. Win or lose, this is our Quarterback. Nix will forever be a Duck even if he has a few tiger stripes
  2. IMO, Irving and Whittington are the premier backs. They are proven and have earned their spots. Both will make NFL rosters. Limited touches obviously effects stat lines. It also keeps backs fresh through a long brutal season. A fresh back hypothetically, will put better averages in the books. DL coached at UGA. He is experienced in navigating such wonderful problems. If one of the underclassmen can pry snaps from Bucky and Noah, this problem just gets more wonderful. Ducks will play 15 games in 23' fresh legs are going to be at a premium. Go Ducks!
  3. LB recruiting has been thin this cycle. Lanning has to have some urgency at the position. Mothudi and Williams would be a great addition to an already great class. If not, there is always the portal. Lanning seems to do very well with transfers. Especialy in ares of need.
  4. I dont think any of the players mentioned are underrated. Not to fans of the team. I have high expectations for most on the list. TT is rated, in my mind anyway, about right. Meh. Hill moving to LB is going to be fun to watch. Hill has the speed to get to the edge and creat short yardage stops.
  5. Having Burch at Jack gives Ducks some wiggle room. Main reason I don't think missing on Rushing is as big a loss as it would have been in past seasons. Portal is a stop gap for misses like this. Still, Lanning needs to close on these opportunities. Pretty sure Lanning sees is that way. 1 mil is foolish if true. Not sure how that convo went in the Boardroom. Should have waited to start drinking till after the meeting. Yikes!
  6. If Rushings recruitment decision was based on the singularity of NIL, he might have other issues Oregon doesn't need in the locker room. I am more inclined to think Lanning missed something. It's not the end of the world, it definitely ain't over either. I hope I am right, maybe not. I hate to think that cash is the sole driver of some of these decisions. If so, I hope someone shows up in this young man's life and gets him on a better path. Home, play with kin and cash is legit. Chances are that those three elements had a great impact on his decision. I still want Lanning to find his part, no matter how small, and fix that. The smallest navigational adjustment can make a huge impact.
  7. IDK, losing Rushing is a problem. Hometown school will always be a player for any recruit. Parents carry a lot of pull in that decision also. But what about Oregon landing all that Washington talent? Oregon has pulled guys from 9 different states. Ducks have cleared that hurdle 9 times in this class alone. Texans go to Okie and Okies go to Texas. Ducks have a ton of past and present players from SoCal. Georgia to Florida and vice-versa... So I do think Lanning whiffed on this one. It's also not over yet. Early commit often flip I would guess that Lanning is looking at himself, seeking out his part in why Rushing chose Az. Lanning is a student of people and relationships as much as he is a football coach. He will look within for what went wrong and the Ducks will be a better progr'm as a result.
  8. Perhaps thats true. Don't know for sure. They do make shoes though. My point is the fact that often, regardless of where the cash comes from, folks can get slimey. College football as a whole has proven that with shady NIL, conference realignment and media contracts. It's only going to get worse. Some of us will be ok with it and others will walk away. Hopefully it gets turned around. We are talking about piles of cash though, so I won't hold my breath. Hope these kids can pry away as much cash out from the grip of these self proclaimed "VIP's" as possible.
  9. There is nothing altruistic about college football. If the Saudis bring a stack of cash the Pac will play ball. Moral standards be darned. Uyghurs still make shoes.
  10. Right, just need them to be cohesive as a unit. Thats the challenge Terry faces. What Oregon has done on both O line and D line is amazing. Add the skill players on offense and the upgrade on 2nd and 3rd level defensively. This could turn out to be a special year. Dare I say 14 wins? Flup it! 14-1 with a trip to NCG. That means wins in Seattle and Salt Lake. I will take a loss in Rice-Eccles if Ducks end year 14-1 Go Ducks!
  11. Ducks are loaded at every skill position group offensively. This might be the most talent Ducks have ever fielded on the O. Will be interesting to see how the O line comes together. New line coach in Terry and 4 starters gone from last year. Will be interesting. JPJ, Conerly and Ajani Cornelius are absolute Dudes. If the line gets to a high level, the skill players are going to shred the Pac. 23' is going to be a big year.
  12. Good luck to the kid. Can't really blame him. Rushing would have been a great addition. Ducks need an elite pass rusher. DL will need to double down on his efforts there. Not over till the inks dry but I think Ducks and Lanning move on. Ducks are stacked in the trenches, both sides of the ball, for 23'. A ton of movement will take place between now and 24'. Again, good luck young man
  13. DL and staff have left a mark on the DC area recently. Hope they get in early on Harrison. Seaton would be a great get. Late in the game but Oregon recruiting is on fire.
  14. All this realignment and media money grab is sickening to me. It has really taken away my joy for college football. Hard to remain a fan. I rarely comment on this topic. Often these topics cause me to step away from OBDF and other platforms I used to frequent to get my fix. Dirty pool for sure.
  15. Right. Can we get #71 & #77. Left tackle and right guard I think. I watched those two more than Riggs. Well coached up front for sure.
  16. Having a top O line nationally is super helpful. Hopefully the performance of the 23 squad can perform at the level of the 22 group. Prove out to be a true "reload" situation in the trenches.
  17. I think every top performing team has these kinds of issues. Rape allegations are serious. High profile rape allegations often do not end with justice, being tried in the court of public opinion seldom do. They also seem to stain many close to the alleged perpetrator and victim. Sad but true. UGA is at the top of the moutain. Everything that happens on top of the hill is in the spotlight. Tough to get there and tough to stay. How KS responds to these stories with be interesting. It could bring him to his knees. My advice would be that when in doubt, do nothing, say nothing publicly. Tighten down on expectations in off field behaviors and keep it private. If KS is part of the problem, UGA has some decisions to make. Winning and power can be intoxicating. Hope KS gets control of the situation. I like him, he is a good coach. Its also interesting who wrote these stories. Bama and LSU alum. Is "grain of salt" appropriate here? Maybe. Going to be interesting to watch this unfold.
  18. I think DL has pretty good instincts seeing talent. Stein is Lannings hire. Ducks are in good hands imo.
  19. Duck Trucked, Webbed Wall, Puddles of confusion, Ooooorion Belted. Well this is fun!
  20. Popo is the player I am excited to see on the field this year. This Dude is nasty and mean. Last year was stolen from him, denied a breakout year with injury.
  21. Lanning played a big roll in KS 34. I am sure DL exploits that fact, at least in part. Heck, Dan Lanning landed Nevada Dawg.
  22. Is DeBore* the Yang to Mariø's ying? Seems the guy is an excelent game time coach and schemer. Not looking good on the recruiting though.
