  1. Crazy how many possible "flips " Oregon is involved in. Signing Day 2022: Ten blue-chip recruits on flip watch 247SPORTS.COM The latest rumblings from the recruiting trail on some of the top prospects in the country.
  2. Bo just a good dude. Hard not to like the guy. Whatever Bo decides, it'll be a huge success for him and his wife. My hunch, Nix is a Duck next year. Moore will also be a Duck. Lanning is going to stack this team with talent. Next year is going to be a fun year. Ducks are only a couple recruits away from a top 5 class.
  3. My opinion? The Nix decision will have absolutely no weight in Moores decision to sign LOI with Oregon. Dilly leaving is a problem. Could be a game changer for Moore. I still see Moore choosing Oregon. Moore was sold on the Oregon culture, The family feel. He mentioned it often. That culture is Dan Lannings not Dillys. I think Moore will be a Duck. And he will have one of the best field generals Oregon has ever seen to teach him the college game.
  4. Top247 QB Lincoln Kienholz flips his commitment to Ohio State 247SPORTS.COM The Buckeyes secure their passer in the 2023 cycle.
  5. I don't fault Lanning and Lupoi's game time decisions on making (or not) adjustments. At the half Ducks were up 14-10 and expanded the lead to 31-17 after three quarters. What they were doing was working. But yes, the 4th quarter happened. Momentum shifted quickly. Oregon spotting Beavus on the 2 yard line due to a mishandled snap happened. I don't think, if I were HC, I would compleatly change what I was doing defensively. Things unraveled so fast. With less than 20 minutes to play, Ducks were up 31-10 if I remember right. There are a lot of areas we can point the finger. Coaching should be at the top of the list. College football is a coaches game. Lanning took ownership, we will see if he has the chops to fix it. Dazed makes some great points, his analysis on scheme and in-game adjustments is always super insightful. I am a much smarter football fan because of it. With every new coaching hire across the country, the general consensus is it will take him 3 years to get his system in place. I will be looking for marked improvement going into next season. Even small improvements defensively and the Ducks are in the CFP. A step or two more and possibly national champs. Everybody likes to beat Oregon. Ducks get everyones best. Like Beavus player said after the game "felt like winning the SuperBowl ".
  6. How many times did we see 3rd and long converted? I think the only thing that rivals it was 3rd and short converted. Of course we had a ton of first downs and second downs go for a first down. It was maddeningly frustrating. If repeated Lupoi should go and Lanning should have the temperature turned up a bit. No matter the scheme, Oregon could not put pressure on opposition defensively. These players had difficulty executing on the field. Especially on third down. Couldn't tell you how many times I saw Sewell get after the QB only to have a game of Patty Cake break out with the blocking RB. It was pathetic. Riley, Roger's and Gonzo played well. Everyone else were spotty at best. Edge and LB play was horrendous. For whatever reason, the players on D weren't very good. I don't know how much was scheme, youth or desire. I hope Lanning can turn it around. I believe Duck fans patience will be thin after the past 7 years.
  7. To me, this comes down to player execution and ability. Oregon proved it didn't have the defensive talent we all thought they did. The best defensive players were portal guys. Huge problems to fix in the off-season. Zero pressure on opposing QB's. Oregon doesn't have the dudes to get after the QB. They paid the price. "Cover 2", "cover 1"? Ducks couldn't defend their goal line no matter what scheme they were in. Ducks couldn't play defense! We can debate scheme till the cows come home. Doesn't matter if you don't have players. Lanning will get a couple years to fix it. Partly because Mariø is paying his salary. Hopefully he can find some linebackers and edge rushers. Popo will be back and that should help on the front end. Bridges should be moved back to safety. He was better towards the end of season at corner but his natural position is safety. Dude can hit. Thought Ducks were pretty good at rush D but the Beavs put the chainsaw to that and shredded it to pieces. It's hard to dissect what unfolded for the Ducks defensively. Thought they had better talent, they don't. Not sure why, on paper they are great, on the field... horrible!
  8. Marshall Malchow seems to be doing a great job. Looking forward to a fishduck article on MM after the recruiting season
  9. College football can be exhausting. Who's who, who's what, who's available, who's not? It's a lot for a guy that works 13-15 hr days to keep up with. Good thing I have OBDF and youtube. I like the portal but I would like to see some restrictive rules. So much money and effort is put into recruiting to just have a player chase the mighty dollar after a couple years. Maybe teams should be able to "franchise" a number of players. After all, it is big business now and everyone is getting a slice of pie.
  10. I have not been a member of this forum very long. What I can say is that this forum has made me better than I ever intended to be. Mindful of the rules, I have found a way to express myself in a thoughtful manner. It forces me to think a little deeper about what I have to say. I am a better fan and my football IQ has increased significantly since I became a regular contributor to this forum. When I was at my brothers (huge Husky fan) for Thanksgiving, he engaged conversation about the game. It was clear he just wanted to talk smack. And I had a lot to say. To my surprise I was able to talk thoughtfully and respectfully. Conversation was short because I didn't speak with vitriol and nastiness. Plus we lost... Gŕrr! I believe My reaction was because of spending so much time on OBDF. Proof that because of OBDF, I am better than I ever intended to be. Thanks Charles. Keep being a good example because you never know who is watching or how you are impacting others.
  11. Oregon Ducks ‘very confident’ injured nose tackle Popo Aumavae will be able to return in 2023 WWW.GOOGLE.COM Oregon’s lone scholarship senior not to take part in the Senior Night ceremony before last week’s Utah game...
  12. Anyone know if WS has recruiting chops. Probably not much info on this guy. Going ro have to trust Lanning on this one.
  13. I was hoping Brohm would come to Oregon. He was my first pick. But maybe Stein is a better fit. Seems to be of the mold Lanning is looking for.
  14. There have been no issues with Klemm this year. Atleast as far as I have heard. Just great offensive line play and players having fun. Kinda unfair to dig up old news and see if it will stick imo.
  15. Drake Maye is a great QB and will play in this game. Bo Nix is a great QB who probably won't play in this game. Anything outside of NY6 of playoff is a waste of time. The best players rarely play if they are upperclassmen. Why risk injury? I will watch, let me rephrase, the game will be on my TV
  16. Would have like to see Buckeyes in the 4 slot. Heaven forbid we have a B1G NC game. Can't really argue it though. OSU loss was to #2 Michigan. I think those are the best 4 in CFB. Committee got it right imo.
  17. Joe Brady has 4 regular season games to coach plus playoffs. Bills are the highest scoring offense in the NFL. If Brady is to be a Duck, does that get announced immediately? After regular season? After playoff run? Would be a great hire if true. The logistics are tricky though.
  18. They are talking about this over on caneswire. Miami fan not happy with this. Mariø went after him and was turned down.
  19. Many different levels of fans. Bandwagon fans are fans like everyone else. Some are just more fanatic about it. I am a football fan. Ducks are my favorite team. Dont watch other sports. Doesn't make me less of a fan than anyone else. When the Ducks are playing poorly and dropping games. Bandwagon fans aren't cheering them on, neither am I. Only Difference I am still watching. When the Ducks are winning? Eugene, the whole state starts vibrating. We need fair weather fans to make that happen.
  20. One thing we have learned for sure: Bo Nix, Caleb Williams and Max Duggan are warriors. Some gritty QB'S in college football this year. Daniels is playing hurt too. LSU is getting pounded though. Some great Conf championship games this year.
  21. Max Duggan, dude was a beast. That was one of the best non Duck Football games I have seen.
