  1. Very poor 3 point shooting throughout the season. Sherr, Watson and Parrish were not offensive threats this year. Ducks will need a consistent 3 point shooting guard and consistent 3 point shooting from Paopao and Rogers, if they are to be a powerhouse next year.
  2. as I posted in another on this forum: Lady Ducks need to get 3 point shooters that are a consistent threat, especially at the 3 guard. There were too many games that the 3 point percentage was in the teens - all in losses. Pappao and Rogers were hot and cold 3 point shooters. Parrish was very inconsistent 3 point and 2 point shooter. The Ducks recruiting class two years ago was ranked #1. It turns out so far, that none but PaoPao is a scoring threat. Parrish so far is not. Watson, Scherr are good defenders and rebounders. Angela Dugalic is a good rebounder, good defender and scorer around the basket and out front. I was disappointed when she transferred; not so much on Chavez's transfer. Oregon's 2020 recruiting class is now ranked #2 behind UCLA. (It was #1 until the number 1 point guard committed to UCLA.) Oregon class has two point guards who are top scorers in high school, Chance Gray (Ohio, 5 star ) and Jennah Isai (Arizona, 4 star) . A 6'3" forward Grace VanSlooten (Ohio and now IMG, Florida, 5 star) and a 6'7" center Kennedy Basham (Arizona, 4 star). Ducks have a 2023-24 commitment from Amar Whiting a high scoring point guard (Idaho). Women's b-ball teams with 3 or more 3 point consistent shooters (starters or subs) are now the top tier teams. Kelly's interview after the Belmont loss acknowledged the Ducks must improve in this area. I think his next two recruiting classes may address this.

  4. I hope she is in the game more and not on the bench at the end of the game.
  5. Not playing Prince and Kyei more is boggling.
  6. Don't know why Sedona was keep on the bench most of the second half. Watson is not a scorer outside of 4 feet yet she played while Sedona sat on the bench.
  7. Finally - Sabally and Prince were on the floor together most of the game.
  8. When Prince starts with Sabally and when both are on the court together the Ducks scoring and rebounding improve. Kyei is a scoring and rebounding plus when she is on the court. Kyei is a solid force on both ends of the court.
  9. Sedona Prince and Grantland Rice quote -- In the second half Sedona was guarding Kennedy Brown (OSU talented center) left side bottom of the lane. Ball was out front above the key on the right. Brown stumbled to the floor. Sedona immediately reached down and pulled Kennedy back to standing. They had battled each other the whole game. In previous games she has helped opposing players get up from the floor. Her sportsmanship is an honor to her and the Ducks. This Grantland Rice quote immediately came to mind: When the one Great Scorer comes to right your name, He marks not that you won or lost but how you played the game.
  10. Watching the Lady Ducks games and replays on Pac 12 Network shows that Coach Graves: 1. Remains sitting on the end of the bench most all game time (usually with his legs crossed); 2. He rarely stands during the game but does with the team during time outs and then sits when play begins. In the Arizona game in Eugene, he did stand during the 4 quarter come back, facing the Duck players on defense, taking a defensive position with his hands up, ala Chanaya Pinto. He was exhorting team to play defense. The replays do not show him facing the Arizona coach or mouthing to her during or after the game. It does show her standing and arguing with officials multiple times during the game. I know of no college coach giving opposing coach the finger at games end. Aida Barnes did at last year's NCAA semifinals to Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma and this year to Oregon coach Kelly Graves.
  11. Now a very fine rebounder and basket defender. She makes free throws like Endyia - translates to very good hand eye coordination. I think this is only her 4th year playing B-ball. With the coaching and practice drills she is now getting she could become one of the best women post. It will be fun to follow her development.
  12. Oregon 15 fouls and 14 turnovers - Arizona 23 fouls and 16 turnovers. Giving the finger to the losing coach (Connecticut last year) and the winning coach (Oregon this year) - classless.
  13. Oops, my mistake. Those numbers I posted are from the Connecticut game. Mia culpa.
  14. Hmmm, Oregon had 14 fouls - Arizona had 12. Oregon had 12 turnovers - Arizona had 19.
  15. Ducks made so many miscues the first 3 quarters and still won. Graves went power big ( Sabally, Prince and Kyei)in the late 3rd and 4th - a coach decision that was the turning point on defense and offence. Ducks will just get better as the season progresses if no serious injuries.
  16. Don't believe Travis has the speed and size for running back or receiver in NFL. LaMichael had the speed but not the size.
  17. Best 4th quarter cheer/song in football!!!
  18. Sedona Prince was not on the bench tonight. Don't think she made the trip. Anyone know why? She is a difference maker. Ducks played hard vs Stanford. They are competitive now, will be a force as season progresses.
  19. Next 10 days: Stanford # 2 California Arizona State Arizona # 4 Connecticut # 11 As Endyia and Te-Hina get more game time and conditioning Ducks perimeter outside scoring/threat will help open the post area.
  20. I hope the Ducks returning from injury stay healthy. If so, they match up well with Stanford and Arizona. If not, they don't.
  21. I was blest to attend the game. Both teams played hard. Ducks had 2 consistent scorers tonight: Prince and Parrish (48 of the 62 points). When PaoPao, Sabally and Rogers return the scoring will return. If they can stay healthy they will be very good at the conference and national levels.
  22. Anyone heard or knows what her injury is and why it's not being disclosed?
  23. Stanford loss to a shorter Texas due to lack of point guard - had forward, Haley Jones, trying to play as apoint guard. Ducks have a 5 star point guard, Te-Hina PaoPao, and another 5 star point guard, Chance Gray, committed for next year.
  24. What injury did Justin Flowe sustain? Was surgery required? Is he expected to return next season?
