  1. Indeed!! Which is the reason for the laughing GIF . . . because Mari Cristbal is still the HC calling the shots on game day. No amount of talent can overcome that obstacle.
  2. Miami and Cristbal made the list of teams that “can actually win the national championship” . . .
  3. And, IMO, I think DAT is the player most often cited as the one recruits remember growing up. DAT really moved the needle in making Oregon a national program.
  4. I love this stuff . . . especially since it appears to be teasing a black uniform; my favorite:
  5. The different color scheme makes the trees less distracting than before, but I still think the trees make the court look too busy. My biggest problem is that the lines aren’t color contrasted with the trees (i.e., different base color). I’m a very visual person, so having a green three point line that essentially disappears over the top of a slightly different shade of green trees is distracting. I do like the solid green that borders the court.
  6. It's been a long time since my "realistic" prediction and "hopeful" prediction have been so close . . . a sign that my expectations are high! In my mind, the 4 games that stand out are tosu, @ Mich, @ Wisconsin, and UW. Worst case scenario is the Ducks go 2-2 in those games and finish with a 10-2 record. However, I'll be disappointed if they're not 11-1 or better.
  7. If you roll your eyes thinking it's WAY to early to do this . . . you're probably right. Moving to the B1G may have made the historical winning percentages below irrelevant (all P12 stats), but I still like seeing the results. Vegas has the over/under for next year at 9.5 games. Looking at the Duck's schedule I see 4 games that may be trouble tosu, @Mich, @Wisconsin, and UW. Honestly, I think tosu (my goodness I hate the buckeyes) is the only team that could potentially outmatch the Ducks. I think 10-2 is a safe prediction, but I'd be a little disappointed if the Ducks do worse than 11-1. What do you think?
  8. How about some serious fireworks before and after the game ("after" the game only if Ducks win, of course). My kids were mesmerized by Tennessee's walk off FG win against Bama a couple years ago (see around 10s mark):
  9. I'll never tire of my one of my favorite pastimes: Poking fun at Mari Cristbal . . . Enjoy!
  10. Or as I like to say: Mari Cristbal
  11. I could not agree more. I was skeptical at first given Dan Lanning is a defensive specialist. I didn't want to see Oregon's reputation for offensive firepower lost. But, it looks like Dan Lanning is a FOOTBALL specialist, offense and defense.
  12. Always great to see Dan Lanning and the Ducks getting some national attention:
  13. I don't fully ignore star rankings, but these days, I look to see what other schools were recruiting the player. Sounds like he picked the Ducks over tosu, Michigan, and Georgia (among others). That's good news I'll take any day of the week!
  14. Yes! A lot of red and orange (i.e., bad results) in the Cristbal era.
  15. Yes, the flip in Rushing/Passing YPG really stands out. Also, the data I'm showing includes all games and are a bit inflated from non-conference blow-out games. When I only include P-12 / Bowl / Playoff games, the points per game drops to ~40 ppg against better competition, BUT the efficiency metrics to the right stay deep/dark (i.e., good) green. Lanning's offense may not score as many points per game as the Kelly/Helfrich teams, but Lanning's teams score on a higher % of their possessions.
  16. A LOT of green for Dan Lanning's 2023 Ducks offense. The efficiency metrics are the best in Ducks' history . . . entire HISTORY:
  17. This has been my approach now as well. I used to get too excited about the juicy "rumors" (usually D-Lineman prospects the likes UO has never had before), only for them to pick a different school. I choose not to ride the emotional roller coaster anymore, and simply tune in when the dust has settled . . . which helps settle my resting heart rate, blood pressure, etc.
  18. This one feels good. Was hoping Lanning would eventually land some big DTs during his tenure.
  19. Totally agree, and I am really excited about the recruiting class. I wouldn't characterize myself as "bowing" to UW, but rather not mocking a team that won the final P12 Championship and is participating in the coveted CFP. But that's my position, and for those that want to mock UW at every opportunity . . . I totally get it.
  20. Don't have any major issues with what he said. I'm fine with him defending Helfrich. I liked Helfrich and thought he was a good coach, but not so good at recruiting. Without the transfer portal, the Ducks would have been without experienced OLinemen, Burch, Bo Nix, Bucky Irving, etc. Would have faced 2023 with a brand new, inexperienced OL and Ty Thompson at QB. Not sure what the Ducks' record would be under those circumstances, but I would not guess 11-1 regular season.
  21. I will hold off making fun of the Huskies’ recruiting until the Ducks end their 3-game losing streak to UW.
  22. An offensive genius HC will likely always get the right QB and WRs. It’s one of the benefits of being an offensive wizard.
  23. Did Lanning really verbally accept the Oklahoma job?
  24. LOL, I had never heard of the "Mendoza Line". Looked it up and it's perfect for Mari Cristbal
