  1. I'd be good with 1 month if the tradeoff was never having to watch a commercial again in my life!!
  2. If your household only streams TV/Movies, then I would argue you don't need the full 1 Gig speed. That said, I fully appreciate that once you get used to a certain speed, it's hard to go backward. I have 300 mbps ($55) but I make sure to connect my Apple TV directly to the router via internet cord so I get the full, uninterrupted 300 mbps.
  3. I had the distinct honor and privilege of helping my grandpa rid himself of the Comcast/Xfinity/Direct TV racket. Here's my recommendation: - Internet only from whatever provider you choose - $50-$60 per month (maybe more if you go for Fiber speeds) - YouTube TV - $73 per month. If you have friends and family that live in your area, you can family share with 2 since there is a 3-device streaming limit, and have them reimburse you to reduce cost even further. Just make sure each household understands you can only have one device/TV using YouTube TV in each household at the same time. - Streaming box: Apple TV 4k (if you have Apple phones/products; it's the best) = $150 one time purchase OR similar Roku, Firestick, Google device; all one-time purchase YouTube TV's Live view looks just like a regular cable provider. You will not regret the move. I would do it anyway to free yourself from the Comcast/Xfinity shackles . . . You WILL NOT regret it.
  4. LOL!! “Who wants it more” is classic
  5. “He never got his head around to look for the ball.” Pass interference has NOTHING to do with turning your head.
  6. Such a good one!! “A thousand percent!” LOL
  7. I'll start. This one is not quite as solidified to exact wording, but it goes something like this when already wealthy athletes discuss holding out or wanting new, more lucrative contracts: "Just trying to feed my family" "Want to make sure me and my family survive" "Want to secure my family's future" If you you can barely "survive" on $1M annual salaries, I've got a Financial Planning 101 course to sell you. Your turn . . . GO!
  8. On YouTube TV, I have the primary B1G channel and 3 additional B1G overflow channels. Does Hulu Live TV also have that? Curious since I originally believed it was a unique perk of YTTV, but I could see a streaming service offering the B1G Network and the overflow channels would be included by default.
  9. The antidote: YouTube TV - Watch & DVR Live Sports, Shows & News TV.YOUTUBE.COM Stream live TV from ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN & popular cable networks in English and Spanish. Record without DVR storage space limits. Try it free. Cancel anytime.
  10. I love these matchups, so I will refrain from biting the hand feeding me games I've longed to see for years. Here are some reasons I think it makes sense: - Recruiting / Transfer Portal - Playing in MASSIVE games garners huge, prolonged national attention and drives up exposure for the programs (win or loss). Every major network, show, and media personality will be interviewing coaches, players and programs for weeks leading up to the game. - Recruiting / Transfer Portal 2.0 - Visiting team can make recruiting inroads in an area where they may have a small footprint. - Recruiting / Transfer Portal 2.0 - Imagine the recruiting content created from these games (e.g., That Team Out West videos by Oregon). - Iron Sharpens Iron - A true test to see where your program is at by playing and coaching against the best. - Experience - Valuable experience for players--young an old--to play in big-time game. - Strength of Schedule - A potential boost to both teams' SOS vying for CFP consideration. - Scouting - What better way to get film on a potential CFP opponent. - Less Risky - Given the 12-team playoff, ALL of the potential benefits above can be enjoyed while taking on less risk. Every goal and aspiration for the losing team is still within reach. Thank goodness 1 loss has less of an impact than it has in the past. - Overall - These matchups are a win for fans and the game of college football.
  11. Thanks for the article! I will definitely be watching Clemson v. Georgia, and I hope Miami does something embarrassing. What about DJ at TE since he already knows the offense? Hopefully his hands are better at catching than throwing . . .
  12. I like that we get to ramp up to B1G competition. And DO NOT take Boise State for granted!! Oregon has never beaten Boise State on the football field . . . let's do that this year.
  13. This is the best place on planet earth to find Duck information and discussion . . . period. My favorite aspect of the OBD forum is the DISCUSSION. I rarely read articles posted here on the site unless it's big-time breaking news or in-depth analysis (e.g., recruiting wins, coaching changes, game breakdowns from our OBD authors or hythloday, etc.) . . . and those types of articles are generally posted by OBD members for discussion. So, organically the most impactful articles always make it to the OBD Forum for discussion. I also rarely click into the Topics made specifically for new articles by subject (e.g., 2025 Recruiting News, or Ducks in the NFL, etc.). The OBD Forum originated articles? . . . I always read those. If I were to give feedback it would be about function/UI more than on the amount of news article content. For example: Some time ago, I recall starting a Topic I found very interesting and that I thought would generate discussion. After about a 1/2 hour, I came back to the site to see if there were any replies. There were none and it appeared the News article update had happened a few minutes after I created the Topic. Now there were 4-5 News Topics that had pushed my topic down. Now, maybe the Topic I posted wasn't nearly has interesting to other OBD members as I thought it was, but that was when I realized it might be useful to have two tabs on the site, one for "Discussion" and one for "News" For example, in the image below, the "Recent Topics" wording in black could be replaced with "Discussion", and just to the right--still in the black row--there could be a new tab with the same presentation called "News" where all the news topics would load. That way, Discussion and News could be two distinct locations to fulfill all our wildest Duck-loving dreams As usual, I wrote WAY too much with WAY too much detail, and probably went WAY beyond what you were asking for. Just know I love the site, and even if no changes are made, I'll still keeping coming for more.
  14. A couple comments about the game: 1) The beauty of the 12-team playoff is FSU (and any other one loss team) has everything to play for still. 2) A GT “home” game in . . . Dublin, Ireland. Is this a joke? The common folk are already getting priced out of watching college football in person, now some games will be played on the other side of the earth? Sorry, but I don’t feel that strongly about sharing college football with the rest of the world. 3) Nothing against the young man, but I’m glad DJ to Oregon never materialized.
  15. This transition to the B1G is going to be a challenge for me. tOSU has been my most hated team due to the roadblock they've been for the Ducks over the years: - Loss in Rose Bowl - Loss in CFP But I take refuge in the fact that a Mari Cristbal-led team, with a sub-par QB, marched into the shoe and whipped the buckeyes. Hoping the Ducks give them a shellacking in Autzen Stadium!!
  16. This really stood out to me. What Dillon and DL are trying to do is very difficult, but not impossible. I know that Dillon will be great for this team. However, I really hope Dante Moore blossoms, because teams can really take off when they have a great QB that gets to play in the system for more than one year. Would love to get back to having a recruited QB (or one with multiple years of eligibility) that can be at the helm for 2-3 years.
  17. What if Dyer was called down by contact . . . ?
  18. LOL - Just the right amount of time to welcome him back should he have an unsuccessful second tenure in the NFL.
  19. Awesome! Oregon knows how to market.
  20. I'm so glad the "O" is back on the helmets. Wings were cool, but there's nothing like the "O" in all of sports. It's Clean It's Bold It's Simple It's Symmetrical It's Recognized
  21. Yeesh!! To reference Nick Saban . . . Don't drink that rat poison!! Stay focused and hungry Ducks!
  22. Christmas is my favorite time of the year. But then I ask myself: “Is it really?” College Football >= Everything

      • Great post!
  23. It turns out it was Puddles that offered Dan Lanning the unlimited NIL resources, and NOT Phil Knight.
  24. I totally agree with you! I’m not in the overreaction camp on this. I simply find humor in the flip floppers’ “commitment”.
  25. But I've been reliably informed by national media and other prominent head coaches that Oregon is only recruiting well because of NIL money, and that they have "infinite" money. If that's the case, then they should win every recruiting battle for "infinity", right? Also, an OBD poster made a comment I liked: "Let's stop using the word 'commitment' for all these early verbal promises." What word / phrase should we use instead? I like the following: - 4 Star WR out of California "conditionally" commits to Oregon. - Amazing get for Dan Lanning!! The Ducks "secure" the "provisional" commitment from Blue-chip, 5-Star defensive lineman from Louisiana.
