  1. Love the black uniforms and precisely because of the game you mentioned. Hoping for a similar outcome.
  2. It never rains in Autzen, but let the Darkness envelop Ohio State until they beg for mercy . . .
  3. My feelings about Michigan have traveled a long road. 1) Didn't like them 2) I'm a 49ers fan so I like Jim Harbaugh. I liked Michigan while Harbaugh was there 4) Absolutely LOVED Michigan when they started dominating tosu 5) Now mostly indifferent, but will never dislike them more than tosu
  4. What a one/two punch in Jones and Elliot. Couldn't stand Elliot for showboating reasons, and with Jones I was just generally annoyed that he was their 3rd (or 4th?) string QB, and they didn't miss a beat. Must be hard to be tosu with all that talent lined up 3-4 deep. Jones was a tank of a QB . . . kind of like Pryor, but even bigger. I think the loss of Oregon's two WRs changed the outcome; made the Ducks a little more predictable and one-dimensional on offense.
  5. If I haven't documented it enough, here's another declaration of my hatred for tosu. 2010 Rose Bowl - I remember watching this one with my dad. Had high hopes, but it was the Pryor show: 2014 CFP - Unfortunately the Ducks lost their two best WRs before this one. Allen to knee injury against FSU, and Carrington due to his selfish weed consumption: 2021 at the Shoe - Sweet victorious revenge game in their house!! One of the few things I'll thank Mari Cristbal for:
  6. Full context from the Canzano article below. He was definitely referring to the "original" Pac-12 and not the "Scrap-12". He references Oregon, Washington, ASU, and Cal (not part of Scrap-12) before making his statement quoted. Canzano: Sunday thoughts, musings, and conspiracies WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Officiating debates, GameDay signage, and saber-rattling from Congress.
  7. Not sure why Troy Franklin is struggling in the NFL. I've read that he's had issues with drops in workouts prior to draft, but I don't recall that ever being a problem while he was with the Ducks, right? Am I just remembering things wrong?
  8. Fair take. I also worry about the incentive structure of college football now.
  9. I don’t “think” so, but . . . If we apply the same standard used to critique Miami’s schedule (ie, they’ve played no one), has Boise St. beat anyone that should make us believe they’re something special?
  10. I think I agree with that. I’m trying to balance things in my mind, and play devil’s advocate to every idea/opinion I, and others, have. If Oregon played Miami next week and won, what perspective should we take? The established one that Miami is nothing and has played no one and has only won because of the refs. As such, Oregon shouldn’t move up in the polls? OR Big statement win over a top 10 ten team that firmly establishes Oregon as a National Championship contender. And suddenly we start arguing Miami is better than we thought. Honestly some of my favorite parts of college football are the mental gymnastics from all fans.
  11. Unpopular opinion incoming, but it is my own. You may be right about Miami, but if I had to take a blind comparison test between Miami and Oregon’s resume this far, this is the more impressive of the two:
  12. Cal lost a 25 point lead. Refs didn’t do that. They built the lead with passing downfield and screens. It’s like a mind virus that they move from what built the lead once they get the lead. Started running into the Miami DL which is formidable. WHY GO AWAY FROM WHAT WAS CARVING UP MIAMI? Was really hoping to see angry Cristbal post game conference; ruined my evening.
  13. Offense for sure. Only averaging 32 points per game against inferior competition. That’s Mari Cristbal production . . . Yikes!
  14. I’ve noticed the same thing! Doesn’t look near as crisp or vibrant as the past.
  15. "Even a broken clock is right twice a day." Mari Cristbal is an incredible recruiter, especially in the trenches. History has shown that great-recruiting-bad-coaching head coaches can occasionally win it all . . . See Ed Orgeron, LSU, and Joe Burrow. Don't ever want this to happen for Mari Cristbal, but theoretically, it could. Re: the VT v. Miami review, let's propose a rule: "If within 60 seconds of seeing all available footage nothing is conclusive, then the call stands." Isn't taking 7 FREAKING MINUTES evidence that there's no CONCLUSIVE evidence!!!???
  16. My thought while watching was that playing Dante Moore would place the focus on him and UCLA rather than the team. No way of knowing, but that’s what went through my mind.
  17. I was going to post something, but you took the words right out of my mouth.
  18. Unsatisfying indeed. Uniforms were a thing of beauty. 1st half was a thing of beauty. I know there was a pick 6, but the WR fell down; no interception if TJ keeps his feet. 2nd half was pedestrian, and pedestrian won’t beat the likes of Ohio State. Still want to see a string of complete games where the Ducks pass the eye test as well.
  19. No offense to TEs, but I’d much rather have beef on OL.
  20. I'm partial to the ones that occur at the beginning of games when the energy can hardly be contained: - Penn State White Out pregame - VT playing Metallica pregame - ** I thought Wisconsin's "Jump Around" was pregame, but apparently it's similar to Oregon's between 3rd / 4th quarters, but I still like the song choice better than "Shout". I think the risk in having the tradition mid-game is that the energy level could be dependent on how well the game is going. For example, from my perspective watching TV, it didn't look like there was much enthusiasm for "Shout" in the Idaho game . . . too many people in shock, LOL. On the other hand, maybe it could be the spark to lead a comeback. I'd like to see 10 Duck motorcycles revving as loud as possible come out of the tunnel with something from AC/DC blaring . . . Back in Black? Thunderstruck? Make the motorcycle noise and music deafening.
  21. Saturday’s are busy for me; kids’ sports, yard work, etc. I actually like the late games where I can watch them in peace and quiet, without kids and wife (who snookered me and lied about loving football while we were dating).
  22. Some general thoughts about the remaining teams on Oregon's schedule: UCLA - Should be a shellacking similar to what the Beavers received. Michigan State - Still unsure about this team. They make me a little nervous. Don't laugh too quickly at the loss to BC. Boston College has a decent resume (i.e., not a push over). tosu - I hate this team so much. Hope we pound them, but won't know what to expect until game time. tosu will have only played cupcakes leading up to the Oregon game . . . I guess that's true for the Ducks' schedule, too. Purdue - They lost to the Beavers . . . I'll end my analysis there. Illinois - Went toe-to-toe with Nebraska and won. Looks like a solid team not to be underestimated. Michigan - Looks VERY stout defensively, but incredibly one-dimensional on offense. Will be a tough game in Ann Arbor. Maryland - A frisky team that Oregon should handle. Wisconsin - The challenge will be the game location and weather; buckle up. Washington - "Insert Poop Emoji" here. Let's hear your thoughts/opinions about the remaining schedule.
  23. Great game between Illinois and Nebraska. Looked like two quality teams trading punches. Raiola looks like the real deal, but his limited experience may have bit him at the end of this game.
  24. Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium has about 102K capacity and I heard they just added a surcharge to every ticket. Quite an NIL advantage to have that big a stadium like that.
