I don't care who USC tries to get as its next HC, they just better not go after Lanning!
Or our OC.

This is actually a question for everybody on this forum. Why do you think Dan Lanning made this statement? Why was he so quick to dismiss rumors of him leaving for Bama? Is it Phil Knight? Is it Rob Mullens? Our fan support? Lack of pressure/expectations? I would love to hear your theories.
Lots of reasons, including all of the above. But I think he and his family like living in Eugene. It really is a great place to live and raise a family, and I believe that's very important to him.

Coach Lanning said, in his post game press conference, that the kickoff that hit the Ohio State player was intentional. If it missed, it would have been a squib kick. I've never seen that.
That was the most amazing squib/onside kick I've ever seen! Wham, hits the OSU player and comes straight back to the Ducks!

Spitting was, of course, a totally bad move by Traeshon. He had to leave the game, has issued an apology, and will probably have some sort of further punishment regarding playing time.
But we never know what someone else is going through, we don't know what is happening in their personal lives, so I feel that we can just let DL and the university handle it and hope Traeshon has learned a lesson.

Oregon Wide receiver Traeshon Holden got caught using AI in apology for spitting on a Ohio State defensive backKinda doubt this. I'm sure the UO helped considerably, of course.

Not the interview, but gives you an idea how emotional this was for him. It ends just before he was interviewed.
Thanks so much!

I can’t get the postgame interview with NBC right after the game out of my mind.
Dan Lanning has the PERFECT temperament for all this. He was so amped and enthusiastic surrounded by all the fans that stormed the field.
His love and passion for the game is undeniable and exudes from him!!
And then, as the camera panned away, you could see Lanning, raised arm/fist, with the crowd surrounding him going wild.
What an unforgettable scene!
I've been googling this with no luck. Anyone have a link to this interview right after the game (on the field)?

Before the game I talked to an Ohio State fan in the shuttle bus parking lot, and he said he thought the Ducks and the Buckeyes could end up playing each other 3 times this year. Could be...

I just want to say kudos to all on this board who followed the plans talked about here to make as much noise as possible at the game! At times I "could hardly hear myself think" and I believe that was also true for the Buckeyes on many occasions.

I didn't know who Kaitlin Olson is either, and had been hoping for Devan Long, but I thought she was very entertaining and funny, and ended up enjoying her participation.

I forgot they report from the set on Friday. That might be fun If I can find a parking spot on campus. Fifth Street Market does a rally in the Market Alley on Friday at 5:00. Their will likely be Buckeyes staying at the Hotel that we can harrass.
Three times I've been to the Friday Game Day. Twice when it was over by Autzen, so no problem parking. Once when it was on campus, and before paying for parking got so complicated (to me). It was a lot of fun, but parking on campus is more difficult these days.

Just wondering. Is anyone going to Game Day on Friday, when it is in the afternoon and not crowded, but is on-air sporadically? Or Saturday, when, of course, it is early, dark, but on air for 3 hours?

While megaphones are not allowed in the stadium, those newspapers they hand out before games are--and they can be rolled up to work as megaphones.

Now the question is - who will the guest picker be?!
I'm hoping for Devan Long, former DE for the Ducks, now actor, plays Thor on Ghosts.

With Mario, it wasn't so much that he left, but how he left. Understandable that he'd want to go back to his home town. But he had one foot out the door in early November, and I think that cost us a game or two.

Bedford didn't play in the UCLA game, so maybe the offense would have scored more with him in there?

His wife is a Daisy Duck, so I had heard this sad news. He was a speaker at Daisies more than once, and sometimes came by with a stack of Fighting Ducks Illustrated. He had tried to sell the magazine, but with no luck. He and his magazine will be greatly missed.

So sorry for the loss of your Dad. My deepest sympathy. It's said that no one is really gone as long as someone is alive to remember them, so your Dad will live on in your heart and memories.

I really appreciate the takeaways, because I fell asleep somewhere in the first half, woke up at half time, and went to bed. Fie on late start times. Nice to read the article and get a better idea of what happened.

Well living in the Pacific time zone, at least I'll e able to watch most of the game before I tire. Imagine the plight of superfans like Jon Joseph in the east who may end up horizontal and snoring before the 2nd half kickoff.
Well, I'm in Eugene, and with my biorhythms, I'm apt to be curled up in the Barcalounger, and, if not snoring, definitely snoozing by the start of the second half!
I also am rooting for the Ducks to not just win, but to be way ahead by half-time.

However, I feel like the Saturday night games were bait and switch, as I remember reading somewhere that the four West coast teams wouldn’t have to play late night games on Saturday in the B1G.
That was certainly my hope. Should've known better.

I was at the game, so did not hear the Jerry Allen call at the time. I do not remember what/if Essig said (or if anyone could have heard him, given all the crowd noise). Lovely memory.
