I thought the Gators might pull the upset yesterday--but the expanded playoffs next year should make it more exciting for everybody.
Enjoy the too-long off season, and we'll look for you here again!

Oregon using up 8 minutes and 41 seconds to score their first touchdown, or Oregon scoring a touchdown with only 54 seconds left in the first half?
I can't decide!

Interesting. Smith is leaving one "little brother" school for another. It will be intriguing to see if he can pull MSU up more to Michigan's level.

Just win, Ducks! Win!

I believe it was the players who wanted the name of the game changed. But on Game Day more than once they (the Game Day people) referred to it as the CW.

I've noticed it, but have ignored it.

It sounds as if there are a lot of Duck fans in the stands!

It's unpopular but my opinion is Chip Kelly was gimmick. Sure parts of his philosophy offensively is still used in various ways. But once defenses adjusted, Chips offense became very beatable.
Chip is a lot like me, doesn't play well with others. He has always struggled kissing up to the backside of donors and alum. He isn't a great recruiter. He is really not that great of a coach.
Chip Kelly got exposed in the NFL and at UCLA. At Oregon he caught lightning in a bottle and got a ton of luck. But at the end of the day, he lost.
I am grateful for what Chip did at Oregon. He moved the cart a little/lot further down the road. But Helf, Willie, and Mariø did as well.
This has been a slow grind for Oregon to become a national power. Until they win a trophy they will not have arrived yet. Hopefully Lanning can get the Ducks over the hump.
All this, plus Oregon was already a good team when Chip was hired. He did not have to rebuild.

Different coaches, so hope for better results.

It's nice to know there are some people in this world who think a $7,000,000 income is good. That's not to say that DL would never accept/ask for more money, but he says that's not his top priority, his family is, and I believe him.

At the Auburn-Oregon championship game, I seem to remember Chip deciding to go for a TD 3 or 4 times on short-and-goal rather than try a field goal. Was that Chip just being BB Chip or was he concerned that the kicker wouldn't succeed on the short attempts?

Lots of rumors out there--and we know how reliable rumors can be.

So as it turns out, both head coaches were fired in the wake of Texas A&M's 51-10 home blowout win against Mississippi State... -
I hope Camden can get his act together real soon. Meanwhile, this guy sounds promising for the future.

There are a lot of new starters on this year’s squad for the Lions, but something that hasn’t changed is the person putting the ball...hope

Just FYI, next to the Moshofsky Center there is a booth where they give away McDonald's French Fries. The line can be long, but moves quickly, because no time is needed to pay for the fries.
It was my daughter and SIL who pointed this out to me.

Well, actually, he has three jobs: kickoffs, PATs, and field goals. But, yeah.

At one time wasn't the plan to have only 11 regular season games, then conference championships could be Thanksgiving weekend, and playoffs could start the next week?
Or did I dream this.?

Did anyone take any pics they could post?

True that. A little bird tells me the Midwestern schools on our schedule next year are not going to put up with 7:30 pm (PST) starts. Just guessing.
I think you are right.
Probably the only night-starts will be when we play any of the west coast teams, and I think we play only two per year and one would probably be away. But if the B1G cares about all the conference viewers being able to enjoy all the conference games, then maybe the start times for those games would not be later than 4 or 5 pm.

Autzen under the lights can be magical.
Ah, yes, but the game could start at 5:00 pm and the game would still be under the lights.

One quick thing to do is drive up to the top of Skinner Butte and get a nice view of the city.
For Duck gear, there are Ducks Stores at Valley River Center, at the bookstore on campus (13th and Kincaid), and next to Autzen. I think on game day gear is sold inside the stadium in the concourse area too.
Enjoy your visit!

So many different types of great eating places, from the elegant Gordon Tavern to pub grubs such as Quackers and The Bier Stein.
I'm sure others here will have good suggestions!

Looking forward to the gathering!
My family and I will be arriving into Eugene on Friday from back East. Excited being able to attend the game and surrounding festivities. Does anyone knows what time tailgating starts on Saturday since it's a night time game?
Welcoming all Ideas on great eating places, etc. in town? Again, looking forward to meeting all, being able to chat about our love of everything Duck!
The Autzen parking lot opens six hours before game time, so this week that would be 1:30 pm.

Last Pac-12 After Dark Brought Tears
in Our Beloved Ducks
Posted
I saw that last episode too and also got a little verklempt.
I've also been wondering if the PAC-12 would some day, say 10 years or so from now, reconstruct itself. I know it's anywhere from extremely unlikely to impossible, but, still, I can't help wondering.
