  1. Still waiting . . . what's been, 6 months and counting?
  2. 2007 Duck football team named one of the most influential in history DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Chip Kelly’s first season in Eugene as the offensive coordinator changed Duck history and college football forever.
  3. Per CBS Sneaky-Good Commit: IOL Demetri Manning to Oregon If anyone needs any further proof that Dan Lanning is building an SEC-like program out West, look no further than Manning's commitment. Kirby Smart has done his best to hoard mass at Georgia, and his protege Lanning is starting to do the same at Oregon. Three-star lineman Demetri Manning, who picked the Ducks over Washington and Miami on June 11, is one of the largest prospects that we have come across in the 2025 cycle as he tips the scales at just over 6-foot-6, 345 pounds. He's going to need to melt down and get the body right once he arrives on campus, but Oregon could potentially pair him up front with another monster of a human in Class of 2024 signee JacQawn McRoy (6-foot-6, 365 pounds) at some point down the line.
  4. Oregon softball strengthens pitching staff by landing standout transfer Lyndsey Grein AUTZENZOO.COM The University of Oregon softball team found a way to bolster its pitching staff with the monumental addition of ACC pitching star Lyndsey Grein. Oregon announc Go Ducks
  5. Curious minds want to know if the NCAA at least kissed Dante before they ruled.
  6. Report: NCAA denies N'Faly Dante's appeal for extra year of eligibility 247SPORTS.COM The career for Oregon's star center N'Faly Dante appears to be officially over Bummer (with a capital B that rhythms with P that stands for piss on the NCAA)
  7. NBA all-time great Jerry West dies at age 86 - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Jerry West, a three-time Basketball Hall of Famer whose silhouette is considered to be the basis of the NBA logo, has died at age 86.
  8. Per 24/7 Manning is a massive offensive lineman prospect and one of the most physical players in the region. He plays with an edge and the kind of nastiness you love to see in the trenches. He's violent with his punch and is a finisher. He's not content just shadowing an opposing lineman but wants to bury him in to the ground. He's pushing 6-7 and 345 pounds and has a ton of length with an 83" wingspan. For his size, Manning moves well, plays a lot of left tackle at the HS level. He could play the right tackle spot in college but we like him long term as an interior lineman and he has all the traits to be an outstanding guard and a multi-year starter. He can fire out of his stance, plays with sound technique, uses his hands well and his feet are always moving. He has a huge a lower half and does a nice job anchoring and once he's set, you're not pushing him backward. He's a dominant run blocker, strong at the point of attack and can get to the second level. Manning can cave in a whole side of a defensive line by himself and he's a true enforcer type who seems to find joy in punishing an opponent. As mentioned, he moves well for his size but would love to see him lean out a bit and if he was able to play closer to 330, the improvement in quickness would take his game to another level. His ceiling is high and if he continues to develop at his current rate, there is no doubt he has an NFL upside to him." - Greg Biggins, national recruiting analyst
  9. Looks like Washington built their wall at the northern border.
  10. Seriously, I wouldn't even let them in the house EVEN IF they were potty trained (which isn't likely)!
  11. What do you call when 100 attorneys are buried up to their necks? A good start!
  12. Ugly stepchild, once removed.
  13. The article reads: A national title-winning college basketball team has filed a lawsuit against the NCAA. N.C. State's 1983 national title-winning men's college basketball team has filed a lawsuit against the NCAA, wanting past earnings when NIL wasn't legal. Members of the 1983 team, led by legendary head coach Jim Valvano, are claiming that the NCAA "systematically and intentionally misappropriated the Cardiac Pack's publicity rights ... without the players' consent and while paying them nothing." The lawsuit was filed by Stacy Miller of the Miller Law Group. There are thousands - millions, maybe - of former college athletes who would have benefited tremendously from Name, Image and Likeness being in place when they were in school. N.C. State's 1983 team is obviously part of that group. The Wolfpack's national title-winning team was one of the most popular in the country at the time. However, it seems like a stretch to file a lawsuit against the NCAA, given everyone was aware and accepting of the situation at the time. It'll be fascinating to see how this all plays out." When will the madness stop? If I was still practicing law, I would hope never. But since I am a fan, NOW!
  14. The Pig 2 are dead to us . . . and the rest of Power 4 football conferences. Check the pudding.
  15. Here is the text: Which college football teams have the best shot at making it through the 2024 season unbeaten? Last fall, five programs - Florida State, Michigan, Liberty, Georgia and Washington - ended regular season play undefeated. We'd love to see a similar scenario unfold once again in 2024 - but according to ESPN's updated Football Power Index, just three teams have better than a ten percent chance of running the table this coming season. Those three programs? Notre Dame (15.8 percent), Oregon (15.7 percent) and Georgia (10.8 percent). Notre Dame is set to open the regular season with a tough road test at Texas A&M - but if the Irish can survive in College Station, their remaining schedule brings an undefeated campaign squarely into the realm of possibility. Late-season matchups against Florida State and USC will be the final major tests for Marcus Freeman's squad. Oregon, meanwhile, enters the 2024 season as members of a new conference. The new Big Ten program lost just two games in 2023 - both to eventual national runner-up Washington - and is expected to compete for a spot in the College Football Playoff once again this fall. What about the Georgia Bulldogs? Led by the only returning starting quarterback (Carson Beck) of the aforementioned programs, Kirby Smart's squad is clawing to get back into the CFP after narrowly missing the four-team field last fall. The SEC may be the toughest conference to escape from without a loss - but ESPN's computer model likes the Bulldogs' chances heading into 2024.
  16. Oregon has Big Ten’s best shot to make College Football Playoff according to ESPN FPI AUTZENZOO.COM New to the Big Ten but not new to fielding really strong football teams, the Oregon Ducks apparently have a pretty good shot of...
  17. So it's true . . . The South shall rise again.
  18. I agree, he will make the play-offs off and on eventually. I just realized that these coaches that are at their dream jobs, they have no leverage for future contracts unless they “produce” as defined by the donors. Of course, with a $50 Mil contract, who cares about future leverage?
  19. Agree 100%. I keep up with it, but that doesn't mean I listen to every pod cast or read every article I find. I pick and choose since until signing day, the fat lady hasn't sung and may have to shut up on portal day.
  20. I do remember some 10¢ “bottoms-up” beer nights which meant the mugs were upside down and they filled the bottom with beer. I was walking (using the terms loosely) from Duffy’s (the first establishment to crack the dry zone, corner of 13th and Alder) when all of a sudden, the blue and whatever lights of a police cruiser pulled up next to me. I was asked if I had a driver’s license. My response was "I wasn't driving was I"? I was relieved to confirm I wasn’t, they just wanted to check my ID.
  21. But with a 12-team playoff, if he, or any other coach of a high-profile program, whiffs a few years in a row . . . bye bye. I also think if any coach of a high-profile program periodically makes the playoff but doesn't advance past the second round, schools will keep them beyond their expiration date since the made the play-offs.
  22. Charles, I had to look twice to see that it didn't say 1894! I remember it quite well. It was my first time back at Autzen since graduating in '72. The senior partner (in his 70's) at the firm I worked at was a big husky fan. We drove up and bet the weekend on it (My ego wrote a check that couldn’t be cashed). Walking out of the stadium I told him if he had been wearing Duck gear, even he could get laid tonight. He was a dead ringer for Tommy Lasorda, so we played that into some free drinks at a bowling alley bar in Grants Pass on the way home. We did have a few doubters. However, it turned out Dan Haggerty was filming something there. On his way out, he stopped at our table as asked me if I was so-in-so. I said no, but you know Tommy Lasorda, don’t you? Well evidently, he had enough to drink to acknowledge he knew Tommy and they proceeded to talk old times. After that, the rest of the drinks were again free. He even signed a few autographs (so be careful on Ebay if you are a Lasorda fan).
  23. Maybe it's a double positive . . . ewe dub stinks and the guy the license plate frame may be indicating his team also.
