New CFB Revenue Model: Beavis and Butthead Get LESS Than 1%!
Question is whether the 1/2 share is only in regard to the current TV deal, not playoff or NCAA BBall units?

The Pac-2 Are Simply Disgusting...
Can we please stop calling them the Pac - 2. I think that is a disservice to our beloved Pacific 8, Pacific 10 and/or Pacific 12 Conference. Perhaps Rat-Pac or Wac Pac would be better.

Explaining Why Oregon Will Always Remain a Big-Name Brand in College Football
I remember going to that "first" Rose Bowl, not the first ever, or first in my lifetime as I was 7 when they lost in 1958. But this was the first one since I became a Duck in 1968. I told my wife this is a one-in-a-lifetime-situation so I drove down I-5 alone on New Year's eve without a ticket or place to stay. Got to the "Duck headquarters" hotel and in the lobby was a sign with a couple of ticket for sale, nailed one at face value. Walking back to my car I saw a former roommate and his wife, bingo a floor to sleep on. Years later, that once-in-a thing happened again ('10), and again ('12), and again ('15) and again ('20). After 3 more "lifetimes" I admit I did skip '20. I'm 2 - 2 in person, oldest daughter 1 - 0 and wife 1 - 0. I'll make sure to take a lady relative to all future once-in-a-lifetime-events. A few years ago I met a DB from the '95 RB team. He said they had scouted Penn St. and when they saw the first formation, they "knew" what play was coming. Opps, Kejuan Carter goes 83 yds. Turns out that was the first time all year that they ran that particular play from that formation. Also evident on the play was the lack of "live" tackling for over a month.

Shouldn't Our Women's BB Coaches' Fanny Be Red-Hot About Now?
I think his seat should at least be toasty warm. Listening to the 24/7 podcast, they stated that some of the WBB transfers were for NIL reasons. Not that that is the sole reason for the spiral. I think Graves should be given one more year. The BIG will be nowhere near as tough as the Pac 12 was this year. Six teams in the top 18, played an unbalanced schedule with starting point guard lost for the season after 5 minutes of play and other players having to play out of position.

Interesting Stat, Only 1 of the 21 Coaching Hires in 2018 is Still on His Original 2018 Job
That is Rice's Mike Bloomgren. You say you never heard of him. Well, his 22 -46 record is probably why. So, the lesson learned is that if you want to get paid for not coaching, don't take the Rice job. Sorry I couldn't get the article to show up properly. It may be due to being 1 of 4 free articles per month on SI's site. Cut and paste will have to do until someone else can get it to post properly. Why the 2018 College Football Coaching Cycle Was a Flaming Disaster - Sports Illustrated https://www.si.com/college/2024/02/13/why-the-2018-college-football-coaching-cycle-was-a-flaming-disaster Four with Oregon connections: Scott Frost, Willie T, Mari, and Chip. Five if you count Joe Moorehead. And then there are the others with "Pac" backgrounds: Jonathan Smith, Sunny Dykes, Herm Edwards and Kevin Sumlin

NCAA Doubles Down on Stupidity, Studying Possible Sanctions against Compliance Officers, ADs, Presidents and Chancellors.
NCAA Committee on Infractions exploring change to possibly penalize ADs, presidents and others SPORTS.YAHOO.COM The committee is discussing levying suspensions on more school officials in infractions cases, including compliance officers, athletic directors, university presidents and chancellors. I'm pretty sure the NCAA members will vote unanimously for this one.

ESPN Extends Exclusive Playoff Broadcast Rights
At over 1 Bil a year for 11 games, nice payout for the conferences/teams that make it. Gotta make sure Notre Dame doesn't make the playoffs and keep 100 mil per game to themselves. I think we are going to see: 1) A revolt of the teams making the playoffs not wanting an equal share for the conference bottom feeders/non qualifiers. 2) I believe the Ducks and ewe dubs 1/2 shares are not subject to football playoff $ or NCAA units, so this will replace the steaming $ (not streaming) Kliavkoff promised. 3) Plan on ESPN trying to eventually put the playoffs on a pay per view/ add-on ESPN service.

College Football 2024 – What Comes Around Goes Around?
"The Dow Jones Industrial companies do not let the tail of the Fortune 500 companies wag their tail." Good comparison as DJ changes its membership based upon "current" market factors. Hence the Pac 12/2 should be the new Exxon Mobil which was kicked out in 2020.

Chip Kelly Leaving UCLA For OC Job At Ohio State!
I wonder how many coaches will turn down this job before they find someone. 1) Live in LA 2) Bad roster 3) Live in LA 4) Joining the BIG 5) Live in LA 6) Lack of institutional support and NIL 7) And did I mention, live in LA

Chip Kelly Leaving UCLA For OC Job At Ohio State!
Works for me. I remember when he was returning to the college game and most people were hoping that he would not return to the Pac 12 and take the Florida (?) job instead. Well, that worked out pretty well for us, so I'm hoping Kelly 3.0 is the same as 2.0.

B1G Saturday Tradition - 'Oregon in 2024 Will Have the B1G's Best Roster' and Other B1G Takes from Matt Hayes
From a Buckeye site . . . "When factoring in transfers, the Buckeyes have the No. 3 recruiting class in the country and the second-highest average player ranking behind only Georgia. Oregon is the only other Big Ten team (yep, that’s going to take some getting used to) in the top 10 at No. 4. Penn State is No. 14, Michigan is No. 18, and USC is No. 20. Nebraska and Wisconsin come in at Nos. 23 and 24 respectively. Love that, plus compare our DLine haul to theirs: Assuming that Kirks does sign with OSU today, he will be the 21st scholarship player in OSU’s class and the ninth in the top 200 of 247’s Composite Rankings. He would join five-star Eddrick Houston and three-star Eric Mensah as the only defensive lineman in the class (Houston is an EDGE rusher, while Mensah and Kirks will play inside), but given that Jack Sawyer, J.T. Tuimoloau, and Tyleik Williams all opted to return, the lack of defensive line reinforcements isn’t as big of an issue this cycle — but it absolutely will be in 2025.

The Pac-12 is Dead; Let Chaos Reign
Thanks for the article, David. I like the thought of the other conferences laughing at the Pac demise and now having to suffer the unintended consequences of their cannibalism. I think we all would love to see former Pac 12 teams claim the B1G and Big 12 this fall.

5* Quack! Gatlin Bair's A Duck!
'24, which I don't think makes sence since he will not be on scholarship until '26. And moves the 24 class to #3 in the 24/7 rankings.
