The Autzen atmosphere lived up to it’s reputation. Loud and a place that top teams try to avoid. Crowd was crazy loud.
Both teams played with poise, with the exception of Holden’s flagrant.
The Ducks have a big bullseye painted on their jerseys with that win. Still a lot of games left on the schedule and everyone wants to spoil our season.

Ryan Day fired his defensive coordinator when we beat them in the shoe. What’s next? Fire his buddy Chip?
I think their fans are very similar to USC fans, except tOSU has a better team…lol

That was Autzen at its finest.
I attribute the fumbled snap to the crowd, and at least 2 to 3 penalties caused by the noise.
Welcome to Autzen stadium BIG.

DUCK LIPS??
I've been looking online and haven't found anything saying duck lips or noise makers are not allowed in Autzen.
I know the Pac 12 a few years ago made it a rule.
I think have have some old duck lips I'll bring to go along with my FA (ala ala) sound.
P.S.
Maybe OU will help UO out again this weekend and Beat Texas, and make UO game 1 vs 2.
I mean, they already gave us a QB
Noise makers are banned by the NCAA during live play at sporting events…if someone complains they will ask you to not use it anymore. Just search Noisemaker ban by NCAA.
Otherwise, in every stadium, the crowd would have air horns, or trumpets blaring on every play.

Their fans expectations are far too high. The team has not been dominant for years, and they so wanted Riley to be the guy. He is a coach, not a magician.
Btw..Pete Carrol teaching a class at USC seems odd. Is he posturing himself to coach at USC again, or just hanging out in LA to see if an NFL team gives him a call?

Anything can happen when two good QB’s face each other.
On offense, DG will need to be a running threat, and probably need to get some yardage and first downs running the ball.
They will want to take away our running game. So, DG needs to be sharp. If DG has a decent game, then it all comes down to turnovers, and defense.

How does this help NIL?
Does the $$ go to the collective?
It wasn't clear to me in article.
Part, of the proceeds goes to Division Street. Since the shoe is more about the team instead of one player, the proceeds can be disbursed as they see fit.
Goat.com is a marketplace that sells new and used items and verifies authenticity. It is not part of Division street, therefore they probably charge a fee for each item sold.
Search “what the duck”.

Biggest threat is whether we play solid football for 4 quarters. We have seen too many errors for me to really jump on the bandwagon.
If we minimize the “offensive” errors then we have a ball game.

You have to think DG is mad at himself about trying to force passes in the red zone. Probably the only negative over the last two games. (Is he trying to pad his TD stats?)
I have to think that unless we are trailing that those forced passes will not happen again.
Otherwise, as stated, because of the OL and blocking, the offense has found its mojo. Defensively, I will be curious to see what they can do to the chestnuts.

Interesting to note that both Oregon, and the Trojan boys, needed to make a splash with a coaching hire. Oregon, being Oregon, took a chance on a young, but highly regarded DC. While LA, being LA, over paid for a “known” head coach.
We all should love that our hire looks like a great move, and now the LA boys seem stuck with a bad deal.

Alabamy fans are preparing a list of who to hire next. Minnesota has a chance to really make this a good day.

Doesn’t matter how they play. Personally, I hope they lose.
It’s all on us to man up, and play a good team. We will definitely get to see where we stand as far as our chances to make the CFP and be a legit contender.

It is college football.
Top players move on to the NFL, and seniors graduate. In the past, replacing those players solely with inexperienced players would definitely impact the team’s success the following year.
The transfer portal has smoothed that process out. Without the portal, we probably would not have been picked as a team with a legit shot at a title this year. With the portal, at least we have a shot.

I think DG was completely caught off guard with the sketchy play of the OL in the first two games. He was kind of forced to resort to the short outlet passes, and never got fully in sync with his receivers.
The Boise State game was annoying because the offense continued to sputter. When the offense started gaining momentum, they immediately gave it right back with untimely errors.
Like you stated the team has played well in short bursts. There is talent on the team, will they play together as a team and become dominant?
Only time will tell.
Tonight, the team needs to show continued improvement. DG getting in sync with the playbook, and his receivers would be helpful. That would go a long ways to making me feel that all the preseason accolades were warranted.

T Ferg could definitely be a solid NFL guy.
He can block, and catch a lot of the passes thrown his way. Getting drafted by a team with a good QB, and solid OL, would definitely jump start a potential career.

I always felt the phrase defined individuals, and their connection to the University. Whether a player, student, or fan. So in my opinion, the individual determines whether they are a Duck.
Is every person that is a fan, or attended the University truly a Duck…nope.
But, we will adopt a few that deserve it.-

I like the uniform.
Cancer research needs all of our help. Too many of us have been impacted with the loss of family and friends.
The advances they make increases the survivor rates each and every year. I have six years of chemo treatments in the rear view mirror, and had the opportunity to test a new treatment during that time. Nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
In the words of Jim Valvano….“ Don’t give up, don’t ever give up.”

With the poor play of the OL in the first two games, we are still 4 - 0 as projected. The offense has put together some nice drives over the last few games. What seems to be missing is the quick strike TD capability of the past.
I think I expected a better pass offense. Seems to be a lot of possession type pass plays that gain 5 to 10 yards, instead of chunk yardage. There are receivers open downfield, DG seems to take a lot to the underneath routes.
Overall, it could be worse, but also, it could have been better. I think MSU is a perfect game this week for the Ducks. Get to 5 -0 and take on one of the perceived teams that has a legit shot at the title.
Go Ducks!!!

That is a scary collision. TFerg was knocked out cold.
My understanding of the rule is that a vulnerable receiver in the air going for the ball cannot by lambasted in the head or neck area. The hit does not have to be with the crown of the helmet.
Not a “good” no call.

I've mentioned this once before on this forum, and I know it's ridiculous, impractical, inefficient, and unlikely. But Uncle Phil is running out of only two things -- recruiting advantages that money can buy and his days to enjoy the benefits he has bestowed.
How could an unexpected few hundred million benefit the Eugene airport? How many direct flights could be funded with guaranteed minimums for each new airline? What would it take to build two adjacent hotels and a shared conference center? How can we make our airport a destination in its own right?
We've earned our reputation as innovators and disrupters. Air travel is overdue for something entirely different. I can't help wondering what that might look like, given the minds at Nike and the resources available. (Before you castigate me, please reread my first sentence.)
It is entirely up to Phil Knight to give Eugene a few hundred million(they own the airport).
By the way, the notion that Nike has unlimited resources is far from true. They have major internal problems at the moment. Their stock is down 50% over the last few years, they just laid off 10% of their workforce, and recently fired the CEO.
Nike’s resources are controlled by the Board of Directors/shareholders. The reality is that the Corporation is not the philanthropist, Phil Knight is the philanthropist.
Not castigating, just a reality check.

These are all young men just out of high school. Just like average college students some will have no problem venturing off to a different part of the country, and some are immediately “ homesick” being away from friends and family.
The “ family” atmosphere with Duck football is an important part of their recruiting. Families need to “buy into” the idea of letting their son move to Eugene.
DL and staff create an attractive environment for players that have NFL aspirations. Since only a small percentage move on to the NFL, the scholastic support that student athletes receive at U of O is also attractive to both students and families.
I don’t believe that travel is as big of an obstacle for as many families as it was 20 years ago, or even 5 years.

Not completely true..the greater the number of individuals, the higher the probability of finding better players. Simple statistics.
If I had 100 3 stars I'd argue I could field a better team than from 20 4 stars, especially at the college level.
To be fair…Statistically, he did use a 2 to 1 ratio, and you changed it to a 5 to 1 ratio.

Way to go Danno.
Please, explain to me again what the word 'Commitment' means.
Commitment is a common step that precedes NIL bidding wars for top players. Allows fans to project future team success, at least for a month or two.

These kids will run the gamut of being responsible with NIL funds to help set up their future, to squandering monies amongst their posse, and wonder what happened to all their friends when the funds run out.
Potential lawsuits definitely deter any organization that tries to provide oversight.
Sports fans want the sports they love to be sheltered from disputes over money that changes the game.
Way too late for that…conference realignment, player disputes, and all other problems that the pursuit of money creates are here to stay.
