  1. Thank you DanL I really don’t get why the undefeated number one team in the country must submit superiority to the SEC. Until somebody actually beats the Ducks, NOBODY has proven that they can. Was Wisconsin a close call? Sure. They were also outscored 10-0 on their home field in the fourth quarter while being held without a first down and shoved back deep in their own territory the entire time. Boise St was three and outed on their final possession then quickly marched back to their own end zone before OBD simply wound down he clock before kicking the game winning field goal. Not even the number two team in the country can claim to have dominated the Ducks in crunch time. Someone’s going to have to prove they can do it before I give OBD an automatic L.
  2. Wait! There’s more. By trying to trip up OBD with a grueling eight games in a row, they will go from the most exhausted team in the regular season to the most rested team in the playoffs.
  3. Nice article. And to follow up with Jon's excellent post, not only did OBD play eight conference games in a row, with UCLA and Washington bookending the schedule, they played seven pre expansion BIG teams in a row with no break. The BIG did what it could to wear down the Ducks and keep their traditional super powers at the top of the standings but it didn't work. The final quarter of that murderous schedule saw the Ducks win it 10-0 in completely dominating fashion. Now they can finally get some rest, heal up, thump the purple pups and get ready for the second half of the season.
  4. No joke Charles. Before that play I said here's his Heisman moment and did he deliver. On the run, being pressured and throwing back across his body. Drift that ball a little more to the right and the mid field defender can deflect it or it's a more difficult catch. Drift the ball a little more left and it's a sure pass break up. It was a money throw in a money situation.
  5. FEBU > FU UO
  6. This game against Wisconsin was like Kelly against Stanford and Mario against ASU and had upset written all over it but they won it on the road by winning the fourth quarter 10-0. That is impressive.
  7. Man I was all excited about an upset alert then Northwestern goes all Northwestern with a 3rd down fumbled snap followed by a blocked punt downed at the one. 14-7 tOSU. Buckeye getting out played but it doesn't matter.
  8. After OBD just defeated tOSU, Lanning was roaming the field like a rabid animal slapping and shoving his assistant coaches around like he was looking for a street fight. Riley's demeanor looks like he's complaining to the maitre d about his fillet min yon. They've got the coach they deserve and so do we.
  9. That disturbance in the force you just felt was millions of SUC fans crying out at once.
  10. UO 31-18 1 TO 1 Sack 265 passing yards
  11. Also... BYU is better than the Fighting Primes. Indiana = Texas minus the losses. And I'm pretty sure that SMU is better than Miami. You'd never know this by listening to the talking head fan boys.
  12. I really want to see Boise St knock out an SEC team in the playoffs.
  13. Always good to see the D get some respect.
  14. What makes Lanning great are four main things. One: Football IQ Two: Tenacious Recruiting Three: Amazing motivator Four: Superior resources With OBD he will always have all four and will be able to compete at the highest levels into infinity. In the NFL, he can only bring Number one with him and everyone in the NFL has that all ready. Since it's clear he won't be making a lateral move in college, the powers that be can only hope he jumps to the NFL. In less than three years Lanning has taken his first team all the way to No. 1 and is now the favorite to win the Natty. I'm sure there are many out there that are upset by that and can only hope something happens to change this trajectory because it is looking like it won't be changed on the field any time soon.
  15. Could they threaten to fire him and renegotiate his contract? If they can legally give him the axe, he would pretty much have to do it.
  16. I’m sure we’ll find out in this week’s Ducks vs Them in the most epic way possible.
  17. NIL isn't a salary and can never be capped. LeBron can only make so much in the NBA before running into a salary cap but can make whatever he can get from endorsement deals. NIL is the college equivalent to endorsements and not affiliated with membership on a team . Sure it's implied that NIL relates to playing for a school but there is no legal requirement to do so.
  18. Mario may be able to build a roster that can get itself into the playoffs but Mario will never be able to coach them to a win.
  19. Yep. Pretty much sums it up. Good find Doctor.
  20. I say if you have an opportunity to destroy the miserable mutts on your home field and remove all doubt, just do it.
  21. As the wins have stacked up and OBD climbed the rankings all the way up to number one, the season began to look almost impossibly perfect. The one point victory over tOSU was the game of the year, and the Ducks just kept getting better and better each week. Flattening every opponent that dared step on the field with them home or away started to seem to be too good to be true. I'm sure I'm not alone in beginning to wonder when the inevitable banana peal shows up. With Lanning expecting the team to get better each week and after going into The Big House and manhandling the reigning national champs, how much better could they possibly get? Coming back down to Earth seemed to be a certainty but would that come with a loss? For Miami and Georgia this week, the answer was an emphatic yes. For the Ducks, it was a twenty one point victory and their highest scoring BIG game to date. I personally am somewhat relieved that the step back game was a mere sloppy but decisive victory. Lanning can now hammer home the need to regain focus and discipline and the team can now truly feel the need to get better this week. The road game at Wisconsin has always look like a dangerous one on the schedule and I'm glad it will arrive when the Ducks feel a need to get back to playing at a high level and not just another game to play in cruise control.
  22. Last week they were gladiators in the arena taking down the defending champions in front of 110.000 people. Add in no Tez and the O line readjusting to new line ups again, a step back this week doesn't surprise me.
  23. Maybe Riley had the team over at his crib this week for an evening of Gladiator on Netflix.
