  1. Mario snatching defeat from the jaws of victory yet again. Maybe he's why Stanford joined the ACC.
  2. What's worse for SUC fans. Getting beat by the Ducks every year or the prolonged dread before it happens?
  3. I feel that this is indeed a special season and I'm glad this article points that out. I also think that this season has been and will continue to be a golden advertisement to any and all elite SEC players wanting to portal to a different school. Former five star players not having the career they hoped for only need to look at Bo Nix to see what can happen at UO. Also great players that happen to be stuck behind other great players in the rotation can look at guys like Khyree Jackson and see what becoming a Duck can look like. I think after next year, Lanning's recruiting classes will have stocked the cupboards full enough that mass portal renovations won't be necessary.
  4. The UO detractors out there like to ignore the PSU results, say they barely escaped at TT, over powered an over rated CU and waltzed past a checked out Furd. Here, I'll go ahead and ignore PSU as well and pick up their string of scores beginning with the 4th Qtr at Texas Tech. TT 20-3 UH 55-10 CU 42-6 Furd 42-6 Total 159-25 That is against three power 5 and one group of 5 schools with one of them ranked at the time and two games on the road. Also,13 of the 25 points the Ducks gave up in that span were in garbage time. I don't ever recall a stretch like that in Duck history. Something special is coming together this season. Can't wait for more.
  5. I always want the Ducks to take on an opponent at their fullest strength win or lose. I also like be the spirited rivalry with Utah. With that said, I think it would be in his best interest to heal up and get ready for next year.
  6. I’d say I’d prefer the fuskies to be completely healthy for their excuse free beat down but who am I kidding? They always have an excuse for their beat down.
  7. If Khree Jackson is healthy, I like our chances.
  8. This was also my main gripe for the game. Just get that first first down and build a little rhythm before going for it all. One does not tempt fate down on the farm where bad things regularly like to happen.
  9. Furd got the ball first and went on a 17 play drive the took half the first quarter and got a field goal. Ducks then had a three and out then Furd got it back and kept it the rest of the quarter. After they kicked another field goal, UO dominated the rest of the game 42-0. A weird quarter but I'm not to concerned.
  10. He seems to always be two steps ahead of what needs to get done. Remember when he was just hired and managing the best defensive unit in recent memory on a championship run and on the side, holding together UO's recruiting class? He even called Florence while leaving the championship field. He came in, got introduced and said the right thing in every interview. Then brought in top level portal transfers and plugged up the worst roster holes like QB and patched together a near playoff caliber team. His offensive and defensive concepts are both cutting edge state of the art and the staff he built has been top notch since day one. Not to be some homer fan boy, but it's hard to find much fault in how he has lead the team the last two seasons. In short, I'd say he's just a guy that gets it. Looking forward to where this is all heading.
  11. I love the J14 formation. Glad to see it again. Can't wait for more.
  12. WSU destroyed CSU on the road. So would TT. So would UO. Ducks cover.
  13. One of the most terrifying aspects of the Beavs this year is that not only are they legit built for this moment, they are playing for their Power Conference lives. They may be the scariest team in the PAC simply because they have the most to lose. In fact, I'd bet that if they go 5-0 or so, they would become the new national story replacing the Buffs after their loses begin to mount. The B12 really should figure out a a way to bring in both OSU and WSU. The best way for the B12 to compete with the BIG and SEC, is to have as many legit programs as possible in it.
  14. I just hope all the chronic whining from SUC fans about UO joining the BIG cements UO/SUC as rivals. I'm sure if FOX wants it, it will happen.
  15. WSU destroyed CSU on the road. CU barely escapes CSU at home. Which do you think will be ranked higher this week? The CU hype train has just six more days until it derails.
  16. I think Lanning put a target on his team's back for a reason. I think he wants to see who elevates their game to the moment and who doesn't. I believe who ever starts the second half of this game will be the ones he sees as the ones who are ready to lead. His words helped send this from a big conference game to a big national game. I'm sure he new what he was doing. It will now be put up or shut up time for both teams. Can't wait.
  17. Don't know where Baker end up. Maybe he's a Duck and maybe not. To me it doesn't really matter. At this point, I don't see much difference between football NIL chasers and basketball's five star one and dones. In both cases I would much prefer solid three and four stars that are just ballers over big ego attention seekers. I'll support any team win or lose if they give everything they've got. If the UO is just a stop on their way to bling city, what's the point? If they don't care, why should I?
  18. Texas Tech's D was better than most people realize and the Ducks O still put up over 30 points on it in a tough road environment. I'm not too concerned on that side of the ball. Improvement on D is where my focus will be for Hawaii. After two games the 1st and 2nd strings should begin to solidify and I'm curious about who starts taking over their spots. Against TT, the amount of havoc plays created by the D seemed to increase as the game wore on. I want to see that trend continue this week, and I'll be interested to see who is on the field creating the havoc and who is not. On offense, I still want to see some solid work put in by QB2 and see some confidence in running the show. Against CU, UW, SC, WSU, Utah and OSU, the D will be needed to keep the opponents from lighting up the scoreboard. That's a lot of offense to have to stop in one season. If the D gets it together, this could be a special season.
  19. The B12 really should grab up OSU and WSU. Both schools are top 25 capable right now and would strengthen that conference right away.
  20. Very tough game to fully process. First, I'd have to give Tech props. They may end up a 9-3 top 25 team when it's all said and done that simply botched their first game of the year. The Ducks may have just won a brawl on the road against a very motivated quality team with players that can make plays. When looking at UO's negatives, I think it's important to keep that in mind. Next, I'd have to say that was one of the worst coached games of the Lanning era except for the OSU meltdown. Two 0s on the field for the opening kick off? 14 penalties for well over 100 yards? The return of the Mario offense? That is all on the coaching and that needs to improve immediately. On the plus side, taking back momentum in the 4th quarter, winning it 20-3. In a tough road environment, with the home team having all the second half momentum, the Ducks absolutely owned the fourth quarter and won going away. If there is a half full glass in this case, I'd say it's the resilience the team displayed. in the end that is the ultimate positive. Hopefully the Ducks learned enough to get better quickly. Today, there are 8 Pac teams in ESPN's top 25 and the Ducks play 6 out of the other 7.
