Are There Some B1G Regrets?

When Nick Saban retired, less than 24 hours later the national story was “ Will Lanning be the next Bama coach?” Then 24 hours after that the national story was the epic Lanning video where he exclaimed “ The grass is damn green in Eugene!” Just after the epic victory over tOSU people were asking “Was that 12 man penalty intentional?”. Twenty four hours later it was “Lanning’s a genius!” Now it’s Lanning’s too smart for the rule book! Lanning’s ability to put himself and the UO in the national spotlight as ahead of the curve innovators is unparalleled. His in game coaching decisions are beginning to balance between river boat gambler and “Just take the points.”.His recruiting chops were already legend before he even got here. I’d say at this point, Lanning has arrived. The BIG and NCAA have both noticed and are scared. SUC is saying “We told you so.” Fuskie has given up saying anything at all. We are living in the glory days. What a wonderful time to be a Duck fan!

NCAA Closes the "Oregon Loophole", I Think Not.
The Kamikaze Kid replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
At this point how many coaches on the brink of defeat are going to start contemplating "What would Lanning do?". A dodgeball kickoff and a rule technicality in the same game helped him take down the supposed team of the decade. I'm sure the recruits out there are paying close attention. -
This Intentional Penalty is Next Level Coaching
The Kamikaze Kid replied to David Marsh's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Lanning is now living rent free in Beavis, fuskie SUC, Bucknuts and now NCAA's heads. -
Great vid. Love were this season is going. I remember way back in the Idaho game when we failed to get a fourth and one. The progression of the team from then to last weekend has been amazing.

This Intentional Penalty is Next Level Coaching
The Kamikaze Kid replied to David Marsh's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don't understand the unsportsmanship angle some people have taken on this play. OBD willingly took a penalty because they thought the out come would benefit them. How is that any different from a corner back intentionally committing pass interference to avoid a touch down or intentionally taking a delay of game penalty near the goal line to give your kicker a better angle for a field goal. What about when a lineman intentionally holds a defender that's about to obliterate the quarterback? Bottom line, if it benefits your team and increases your odds of winning you should do it. I would never condone a cheap shot or intentionally injuring someone but mere strategic in game decisions seems to be fair game to me. -

But... but... but just think of all the bonus points we could have earned with all the subscriptions we could have generated for Apple TV. -
When Whittingham retires, maybe Rising will become the first player/ coach in college football history.

How Does it Feel? EVERYBODY Hates Us!
The Kamikaze Kid replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Bravo Charles. This should be the post of the year! I love being the villain. Michigan and Wisconsin may have forgotten how much they hate us by now but they will both be reminded soon enough. -
Disappointed in National Coverage of Oregon vs. Ohio State
The Kamikaze Kid replied to a topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think national media have a love hate relationship with the Ducks. On one hand OBD are the rebellious new kid in school that immediately becomes one of the coolest kids around. This is great for ratings. On the other hand, their ability to bypass the blue blood schools threatens long held narratives that are easy to plug in year after year. The talking heads would much rather talk for hours about tOSU and SUC challenging the SEC big boys for this year’s title. But the Ducks have passed by SUC many moons ago and have home and away win streaks against the BIGs big boys right now. The networks love underdogs upsetting big dogs in the early rounds of March Madness but when it’s championship time, they want to see North Carolina vs Kansas not Davidson vs UC Santa Barbara. -
It's not just a trap, it's a BIG trap. Scheduling a Friday night road game right after tOSU did us no favors.

tOSU bobbles the reception and UO grabs it away before it’s secured. Refs call it a catch and just move right along to the next play. Stewart drags a defender twenty five yards down the sidelines cleanly but let’s hold up a few minutes and rewatch it just to see if he may have stepped out of bounds. Welcome to the BIG.

UO Up to No. 2 in Both Polls
The Kamikaze Kid replied to The Kamikaze Kid's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
What should we call us cross over fans of UO and Georgia? UGA Ducklings? -
SUC: Another loss, another excuse. fuskies: Did I tell you about last year? UCLA: Wait. There was a game?

Lanning on the field after the game looking half crazed as if searching for a wall to run through himself may have been his best recruiting pitch to the world. Who wouldn’t want to play for a coach like that?

BREAKING: Big DT Tomuhini Topui 2026 Commit
The Kamikaze Kid replied to a topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Imagine being a five star kid this morning contemplating whether to play for Day or Lanning. The game itself was very even but in the coaching department, Lanning absolutely owned Day. He also kept Kelly's offense to ten second half points and only three in the fourth quarter. Recruiting might have been the biggest victory on the day (pun intended). -
Buckeyes fans turning into SUCeyes fans before our own eyes.
