  1. In this day of changing definitions I don't how anybody will be able to agree on most any issue but especially complicated ones like this. Will I ever really know what you mean anymore?
  2. I love college softball and baseball. World Series time is one of my favorite times of the year. I root heavily for all the PAC teams in these sports. Not to raise anybody's hackles but the only time I went to the baseball CWS was the first time your instate "pals" won it. A friend of my son was a pitcher on the Oregon baseball team some years back though he rarely got to play.
  3. You guys are almost making me excited that the PAC will rise again. That excitement sure beats the Eeyore point of view that has reigned for much too long.
  4. RE: Suamataia Was he getting any playing time a Oregon? Was he a disappointment? Don't know his story as far as leaving Oregon.
  5. Personally I have not heard a lot of hate for Oregon. I don't really read Utah message boards because I am not interested in what I call the "childishness" between Utah and BYU fans. I am sure they can say the same kind of garbage you see on most boards. I really don't understand it between any fanbase, at least for folks in my age category. I'm not fond of losing some of our better high schoolers but I can't blame Oregon for going where the getting is good. I do like to watch the Utah kids at Oregon. You've got some really good ones already on the roster and now including the big guy you just got from Washington. Coaching staff (current one still has to show what they can do, on paper they look fantastic) Weather - depends on your taste Ocean - Oregon in no contest Mountains - Utah wins Rich man - yep Oregon rich guy is richer Now I must admit that there are times, due to forum rules, I have held my tongue regarding some to the Utah commentary but over all I think it this a good place to hang out and I feel welcome. Maybe some know, some don't, pre Utah joining the PAC, Oregon was my favorite Power 5 team.
  6. Is that accurate in the article that the LBs are the fastest of the bunch in the 100? Pretty amazing and of course one of them has to be from Utah.
  7. I don't remember the specifics but at last years final 4 I was rooting for Arizona as the underdog until something this coach did and I thought never mind, Go Stanford! She just rubs me the wrong way.
  8. I didn't do well at explaining my point about engineering. What I meant to emphasize is that Oregon does not offer an engineering major, not that the athlete could not do it.
  9. His desire to study engineering might make it a little tougher for the Ducks. Good luck. Looks like a stud on and off the field.
  10. Sure wish the Utes could have kept him in town. All during his senior year at Corner Canyon he was wearing Oregon socks during his games.
  11. I did not watch the Alamo Bowl. How difficult was Williams to deal with for the Ducks? Do you look forward to playing against him in the future or are you wary?
  12. If approved this will hopefully help with keeping more west coast players in the west and help make the PAC 12 a little more attractive.
  13. I need some education here. Lets use the example of "former" Duck Logan Sagapolu. Surely Oregon has classes in session and a school he might be interested in moving too is also in session. How does he resolve admission, class schedules, have their credits transfer and the rest of the red tape involved while needing to be in school in time for spring practice etc? For many regular students, getting accepted is a somewhat long process and just picking up and transferring is not easily accomplished. How does this work for the athletes so they keep their current eligibility while trying to make this decision?
  14. Feel for the Buffs. Trying to rebuild and then having a mass exodus is tough.
  15. Seems plausible to me. However I must admit I don't get the concern over BYU I read in the article and on this forum. I really think the BYU success against the PAC is an outlier that will not be repeated. The article mentions BYU returning 11 defensive starters. Does that mean how they started last year or how they finished? The last half of the season BYU defense should not scare anyone here in my opinion. I don't know how many defenders Georgia loses but if Oregon can throw like they did in the second half of the bowl game and shore up the defense that first game could be a tossup.
  16. The state of college football in the west needs to improve. There were more teams in the final top 25 from the state of Utah than from the the rest of the western states combined. Now I happen to think that is pretty cool but it is a sad commentary for the region.
  17. Flattering for the Utes but way too high. If they can earn that through performance I will be a happy man. I don't know where I would place Utah and Oregon but until I see what they can do in a few games next season I would rate them fairly equal.
  18. Alabama will be right back in the mix. Wonder if Georgia will be a one and done like LSU was, or if they have got something going that will make them a multi championship team?
  19. Wonder if he might go home and give BYU a try or is there a B1G or Big 12 team who might seek him out?
  20. In another thread a desire to "own the west" was mentioned in regards to recruiting. Within the Pac 12 footprint, excluding California (the obvious dominant one), what states do you think have been supplying Oregon with their most and with their best recruits? Once again, excluding California, what states within the Pac12 footprint are producing, in general, the most recruits or the most enticing recruits?
  21. Very valid concerns raised by the article. NIL mixed with portal is a messy Pandora's box IMO.
  22. NIce setting. Being unfamiliar with area, what direction are we looking in that photo?
  23. Part of the reason is the Utes did nothing to make Stroud uncomfortable. He had plenty of time and very little pressure.
