The Penn State fan forums were saying the same thing. That Penn State played the very best game they could and STILL got beat by Oregon. There is some frustration with their coaching decisions (the 2-pt attempt, airing it out instead of running when Nico Reed got the game sealing INT), but they felt that the game was the best they had played all year. Unlike UW fans (who whine about Uncle Phil, DL, whatever else they can think of) the Penn State fans gave Oregon credit for taking everything their team had and still winning.

It doesn't seem like very long ago when I sat around with my buddies over pizza and beverages discussing how a group of 2, 3, and that one 4* will maybe push for a New Years Bowl game. It was like we were all pooling our collective wishes and sending them out into the universe to manifest success on the team. Now, here we are at the top of the nation with MULTIPLE 5*/4* recruits and pondering if we are looking at a string of national championship runs. I know that there are other Big10 teams that believe Oregon just drops bags of money at recruits feet (North Bowsers specifically), but the truth is that not every recruit is gonna get NIL. What they do get is the opportunity to play for the most dynamic coach in college football at THE BEST facilities in college football, and experience a stadium crowd that will blow them away. You can't put a price tag on that experience. Who WOULDN'T want to be a part of that?

100%. Dan Lanning would absolutely have his players focused to go out and win the game. Take care of business and you've got nothing to worry about. If you don't have confidence your team can win, this is what happens. You win, you keep playing.

I have watched a few pieces of their games and I don't see him being "an upgrade". Athletic? Heck yeah. Is he a good QB? He struggled in games at OU, but that's not the best example.

I don't think Mario should tell anyone to "go to the facts" The facts are: They won two games via extremely controversial calls, and overturned CALLED touchdown that had no conclusive evidence to overturn, and a blown targeting no-call on Miami that would have extended a Cal drive and probably ended the game. Miami "should" be 8-4 and everyone knows it. Just because you win 10 games against inferior competition doesn't give you an automatic bid to the playoff. Army is 10-1, Memphis is 10-2, BYU is 10-2, Iowa State is 10-2, UNLV is 10-2 Those teams are in the class that Miami is in. Everybody except Mario knows that any 9-3 SEC team is better.
