From Banned OBD Members: "Impulse Control is HARD!" (Your Feedback?)
Happy to be a Duck said, "Best advice as always came from my Mother. If you can't say something nice then don't say it at all." I remember my mother saying the same thing! Thanks!

From Banned OBD Members: "Impulse Control is HARD!" (Your Feedback?)
When comments are being posted fast and furious it is difficult sometimes to control my reactions! But thanks to the structure and safety of this forum I delete before posting. "Upon further review the post is overturned." I have saved myself a lot of grief by reading my post before the summit reply button is pressed. Thanks Charles for a polite and civil place where I can read and discuss Our Beloved Ducks!

Dillingham Attacking the Portal!
I need to only remember one pass from Bo Nix- the long pass he completed with seconds remaining to defeat Oregon 4 Years ago! Both he and Dillingham will be welcomed! Opportunity for upgrading our Chri$to-ball offense!

Why Bo Nix Should NOT Start at Oregon
Like many others I was frustrated by Chri$tobal's boring and conservative offense. I advocated for playing smarter and physical. Chri$to-ball kept a lid on offense. His offense, played inside a phone booth, resulted in close games. Most not decided until time ran out. The tOSU game was the only game Moorhead was given control of our offense. The rest of the season the clamps were tightened and we didn't see that kind of offense again. Because of this our young QB's were not allowed to gain experience. Even with a lead our backup QB was only given one chance to enter a game. I'm looking forward to a new Head Coach and a new Offensive Coordinator. This promises to provide more offense and more scoring! With Oregon talent and the level of play in the Pac-12 opportunity for early leads should occur. I see whoever wins the starting role to give way after providing a lead so the backup can gain experience. If the starter struggles on an off day, the backup has a chance to shine. Coach Dillingham, given more freedom than Moorhead had, will give us a more entertaining offense. With a stronger defense and better coaching player development will happen. Opportunities are coming! Go Ducks!

Ducks: Growing Pains, Youth Movement and Recruiting
You should write more articles for the fans of Oregon Duck football! You have tremendous power in what you write! Speed kills on the football field! Speed has been sacrificed the last 4 years for size and physicality. We need fast and athletic at all positions. Great points to ponder! Thanks Haywarduck!

Ducks: Growing Pains, Youth Movement and Recruiting
Thanks for the article Darren! You said: "Sometimes you just have to take guys who fly under the radar and coach them up. So, take solace in knowing that no matter what, Lanning cannot do worse than Cristobal when it comes to getting the most out of his players. And, I’m willing to bet he will do one hell of a job." I'm also confident that Coach Lanning and staff will coach up the players. It will be great to see the players develop during their career at Oregon!

Recruiting War: Lanning vs. Cristobal
I'm glad that I won't be bored watching UO football. Anyone's offense will be more entertaining than I watched these Cristobal years! I won't have to watch Mario call time out before the first play of the 2nd half ever again.

Yep, Our QB Room is Questionable... Bo Nix has Committed to Oregon
Most coaches not named Mario will play a backup QB when the starter is struggling. Case in point OU (Coach Riley) benched preseason Heisman candidate Rattler. Coach Harbaugh Michigan #2 CFP uses 2 QB's. In addition to game experience against top SEC defenses, Bo Nix adds insurance in case of injury if TT, JB, or RA wins the job. Competition is good! We wouldn't have been in this predicament if Mario had played our backup QB's. Oh I forgot, most of our games against lesser opponents were hardly ever over until the final whistle! I'm sure happy our Duck football program is getting Coach Upgrades!

Dillingham’s Offense: Four New Elements for Oregon
Did someone say Counter? I'm salivating already! We have a coach who "will out-number, out-flank and then obliterate opposing defenses." My favorite run play! I like the idea of adding Coach MarIon to the staff. Meshing the innovative ideas of the Go-Go with Dillingham's aggressive attack would help to confuse and keep defenses guessing. Thank you Coach Boles for this introduction to OC Dillingham!

Oregon Ducks hiring Florida State’s Kenny Dillingham as Offensive Coordinator
Great news for the Ducks! Even better news for the Duck quarterbacks! While working at Auburn as the OC and QB coach Dillingham developed freshman Bo Nix. Nix had a stellar game against Oregon; especially the last drive defeating the Ducks. Our freshmen QBs will get their chance to perform in an exciting explosive offense. Can't wait to see the Oregon offense during Spring practices! Go Ducks!

An Offense that Dominates
I remember, those were great articles. I was hoping that Coach Moorhead would incorporate some Go-Go into his offense!
-
An Offense that Dominates
How about adding an innovative offense? Take the big, talented, athletic football players at Oregon and give them an offense that is uniquely different and hard to prepare for. Oregon was coached by Cristobal to be physical. Add an offense that will cause doubt and confusion to physicality and Oregon will dominate. Chip Kelly changed football when he installed his version of the spread the Blur. Check out this offense! Here. Thank you Log Hauling for sharing this in another post! Why not hire Coach Brennan Marion to install his Go-Go offense at Oregon? Go-Go Ducks!

Coach Lanning Will Improve Our Ducks!
I just watched the 60 minute replay of this year's game against Oregon State. Too many things to cover. But I'm looking forward to these improvements by the Ducks: Defense - better tackling. Not waiting until after the first loss to Utah to stress tackling! -elimination of successful 3rd and long conversions by offenses. -stop the easiest throw by any QB -the slant! Offense -elimination of false starts - especially by the line. (coached by Mirabal and Cristobal). -better pass blocking! -a more vertical passing game. No more 2 yard routes for a gain of 2 yards. I am stoked by the hiring of Dan Lanning. Major improvements coming to the Ducks!
-
Guys, did we just hire...
I know that after watching Dan Lanning speak at 2 Grouped Award dinners I think this is the best coach for Oregon football! James Crepea - watch both speeches in this article! https://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/2021/12/oregon-ducks-hiring-georgia-defensive-coordinator-dan-lanning-per-source.html Fantastic man, high energy, family values, and well respected. Players love him! Knows how to teach! Head coaches he worked for endorse his talent to coach!

Who Really Wants to Coach at Oregon?
Thank you 1Ducker1

Second De-Commit Just Happened...
If they could coach up 3 stars to perform well just imagine a 4 or 5 star being coached up! It seems that Oregon in the last 4 Cristobal years were coached down and held back with the Plodding Pistol and conservative boring offense! I prefer someone who can make players better. The Oregon line this year and last still can't pass block!

Canzano: "Oregon's Choices"
My vote (opinion) is for long term stability. Wilcox and Oregon alums are Ducks, and they know their x's and o's. Given the resources - facilities and support - that Oregon has I believe they will be a major improvement for Oregon football! Splashy will continue this cycle of drama and harm every 2 to 3 years!

Five Candidates and Two Firecrackers to Replace Cristobal and Get Oregon Back to a ‘Natty
No thank you for any of the coaches in the article! I personally would like to have an Oregon group of coaches - Wilcox, Musgrave, and Sirmon! With all the resources available at Oregon these over achievers would soar! Kelly, Taggart, and Cristobal were all relatively unknown before coming to Oregon. Oregon made them known nationally. These 3 Duck alums are experienced coaches who know football. They know how to coach up their players and be competitive.

This Oregon Team Has A Promising Future
I appreciate your optimism David. There are a lot of good young players on the Oregon team. Much to look forward to in the coming seasons! However your article raises a question that very few have addressed. INJURIES. Yes football is a physical game. Oregon has had a huge number of injuries. Is this an excuse? Or are the injuries unavoidable? A lot of injuries occur in practice. Some of those during non-contact. Question 1 - are Oregon practices too physical? I think I remember Pete Carroll practices were know for less physicality. Do Oregon players get so beat up in practice they are more susceptible to injury? Some practices need physicality; but to what degree? Question 2 - do the strength and conditioning sessions prepare the player's bodies for football? Or do the sessions wear out the bodies making them more injury prone? I simply don't remember these kind of numbers of injuries when Jim Radcliff was in charge. Does anyone know? This facet of the program is something the head coach or Athletic Director should examine.

GameDay Thread of Pac-12 Championship Game: the MENTAL, Not the Physical Side Will Win
You're right about the front 6, d line and Sewell are playing their hearts out! But our pass defense is bend and break. Anytime Utah needs a pass - our db's playing zone watch them catch the ball!
