  1. Thank you for the humor! I gotta admit I'm a "user".🤣
  2. Excellent article Charles, and you are correct in your evaluation of Mari (no O) Cristobal! Thank you Miami! I love your photo of the "X Files" - I want to believe in Dan Lanning!
  3. A treasure trove of film study! So far I've only looked at tape of Coach Locklyn. I see backs with vision, patience to allow holes to open and then explosion to maximize yardage. I also see backs with good ball security. I found this description interesting: "The most striking thing about all of Locklyn’s backs in 2021 was how patiently they ran, waiting for blocks get in place and then exploding through the hole. That’s something that often takes years for backs to develop (I recently spent about three seasons at Oregon waiting to see it consistently) so it was remarkable to see at WKU across the board with a new staff and basically a new set of players." Sounds to me we have a good teacher in Coach Locklyn!
  4. 6 minutes of insight into developing a new culture at Oregon. Love it! A ton of wisdom in a young man.
  5. Great job of breaking down, teaching, and illustrating this new GTE Sweep Read! What a fantastic play! Angles, quick movement, and attacking the defense in many different areas. All designed to stress the defense and not let them know where you're going! Amazing design of just one play. I can't wait to see other plays Coach Dillingham has brought to Our Beloved Duck Football team! Thanks for all the hard work Charles it takes to create this article!
  6. Excellent observations Charles! And thanks for writing it so quickly. I had much criticism last year watching Mari (no O) and his plodding pistol offense. My main concern was the lack of pass protection by HIS linemen! They are built for bulldozer type work - straight ahead and double teaming and sliding off to pick up a linebacker. Too many times their attempts to block quick pass rushers looked like matadors at a bull fight last season! Coach Klemm has made some improvements this spring. I saw some good pockets early. But as the game progressed with more pressure we all saw the potential for too many QB sacks. I trust Coach to make improvements by September. We may see some new personnel in the fall.
  7. Confident Competence! Knowledgeable Teachers!
  8. Don't miss the moment when players are passing the interview and yell out "CTG". That is Coach Lorig's mantra for Special Teams to " Change the Game"! The guys were having fun with the coach letting him know they're buying into his system! Sounds like football is fun again!
  9. From the bottom in the nation, there's only one way to go but up! Special Teams for the last 4 years were not special. Coach Lorig brings experience and good results to help improve Oregon!
  10. His NFL experience and knowledge as a player (3 Super Bowl rings) and coach is an awesome addition to Oregon Football! The Offensive Line can't help but improve a great amount this season!
  11. Great to see Oregon coaching legends attend practice! Rich B. and Nick A. great men!
  12. I love this coach! Role model for men!
  13. Good article! Keep scrolling at the bottom for additional article on Running Back comments by coaches Lanning and Locklyn. Great info about the running backs. Thanks for the link Steven A!
  14. Love the video, thanks! Nix is athletic, good vision looking downfield, and quick decision making. But the one thing he has which I love is a lightning quick release. From the time he sees his receiver until the ball leaves his hand is quick! Justin Herbert is also quick in his throwing motion.
  15. In answer to amcdawg, yes, Oregon has done clinics before. When I was coaching HS I attended clinics every year. Many different clinics put on by colleges and Nike for HS coaches in the northwest. My favorite were at the UO (Our Beloved Ducks). I remember Rich Brooks doing a good job. Bellotti was good also! Please don't attack me, but I did pick up some nuggets of football wisdom from UW. Knowledge is power! Ha!
  16. The next thread on players excited about not getting a loaded box has information about DJ Johnson. Article is from Duckwire. No paywall. 😁
  17. Can anyone summarize the report. All.I could see was requests to pay.
  18. Charles, thanks for writing what I have been thinking about for a couple of weeks. The whole list you stated at the beginning of your article have been excellent discussions. I totally agree with the negative posts! Yet, I began to avoid reading these. Scanning some to look for anything new. Avoiding most because it has already been said. I love football! "I want to learn more about this exciting new staff, our players, what the coaches have planned, the practices, the recruiting–all of it!" I love reading the excellent articles written by our OBD writers. The links to other articles save me time! I don't have to search the internet to gather info on OBD! I love Spring practice. I can't wait for fall practices to start. This is going to be a great year. Duck Football is back!
  19. Great news! Thanks Hawarduck.
  20. These guys are going to rock in year two for them. I'm EXCITED! I can't wait for the season to begin. It seems all the guys are excited to be practicing. Good vibes for the Dan Lanning era!
  21. I don't think Fentress should be in the top 10,000 sports writers!
  22. Thank you for an inspirational article on Oregon football. Spring is hope eternal. You gave us lots of things to hope for and watch as the Dan Lanning era begins on the practice field! The FishDuck writers add another great member to their group. Welcome Mike!
  23. I would disagree with playing another school for the Spring game. My opinion is that teaching time in the Spring is more important than seeing a "live" or real game. The threat of significant injuries in an insignificant game is too much of a risk! We had many injuries last season. Those athletes will need a good healthy Spring without the risk of further injury. This year we will be installing a new offense.and defense. The learning curve for the athletes will be a challenge. Adding game prep for an opponent would make it even more difficult!
  24. Thanks for the good article! "A can of worms" is correct. Players will be quicker to transfer when not seeing the field as soon as they want. The college football landscape has changed. At the same time I remember how impetuous I was at that age. Quick to make decisions and many not in my best interest. We have seen it with some athletes declaring early for the draft, and then being lucky to make a practice squad. We can hope that Oregon's coaches will be wise in their development of the player's athletic talent, and contribute to the player's maturity in becoming a better man!
  25. Wow great information Charles! Thanks for another good insight into the Lanning era at Oregon. May I add a possible "third face"? The one inside the recruits living room talking with parents. Wow! The hope that is contained in the phrase Football is fun again! The reason we play any game. It's fun! The hope that the Coach is going to make in-game adjustments is exciting. Imagine being " football smart" to realize that your plan you made during the week isn't working. So you adjust and take advantage of what the opponent is giving you. Can we hope that players will be developed and taught before, during, and after the game? I can't wait for more Oregon Football! Go Ducks!
