  1. Wow! You stated so perfectly the conditions of college Football as it stands now. And, you proposed solutions that keep College Football as a student-athlete endeavor not a professional farm system for the NFL. Order, ethics, and integrity are too important to do nothing! I would nominate you as the Commissioner for this Run For The Roses Alliance. The perfect leader to return Real College Football!
  2. Er....rubber BBs on the synthetic turf!
  3. The sum of the parts is greater than the whole! TEAM That's why Helton at USC was never a complete team. Excellent points Haywarduck! I always appreciate your contributions to the Forum With Decorum.
  4. I was impressed by the constant and various pressure on the QB in the championship game. That will be a welcome change from the passive defense of the Cristobal years. Hopefully no more successful 3rd and long conversions! Will the defensive backs do more man coverage? Does Oregon have DB's with the talent to execute man coverage? Giving a 10 yard cushion to a wide receiver in a soft zone coverage was not a good pass defense! Oregon has had lock down corners in the past. My favorite Ifo (IEO). What are the strengths and schemes of the defensive passing coaches? It would be another good article to add to the previous ones. Thanks for helping me to Understand the Lanning defense!
  5. Easier to read is always welcome! Thank you Charles!
  6. "Over the past four years I was trying to convince people of the reality of what Cristobal intended over the long term with the Oregon offense, but the typical fan was unconvinced. " Charles you were correct! You can take comfort in knowing that a prophet is seldom honored in his home town. You weren't alone in your evaluation of Cristo-ball. This off season will be exciting with all the articles about the offense Dillingham will bring and the aggressive schemes of the Lanning defense. Spring practices will be exciting to see, read about, and find out how Exciting Duck football will look in 2022!
  7. Thanks for posting the link Principal Duck. I think the court ruling never imagined these kind of consequences to their decision. Humans take something the players deserve for their talent, hard work, and entertainment they provide. Then turn it into something ugly and crass. I for sure will be rooting for every team that plays against Texas A&M and the University of Texas. "Oh what a tangled web we weave when at first we start to deceive." Sir Walter Scott in the poem "Marmion" 1808. The beginning of the end of college football! Get ready for AAA farm club football system just like we have in baseball. I guess I'll enjoy it while it lasts! Just my opinion. Feeling sad for the future of student athletes!
  8. I went to clinics where coach Campbell taught drills to accomplish finding the gap. Campbell's drills were the best! My favorites to use! Vision, quick feet, and explosive acceleration - hallmarks of a great running back taught by the best - Coach Campbell!
  9. Upgrading the west side. Oregon State University announced a $153 million renovation to Reser Stadium on Thursday. Following the 2021 football season, workers will completely demolish and rebuild the stadium’s west side. The university says the completed project will feature premium seating that’s closer to the field than any other college football stadium in the country.
  10. Two things stand out immediately - discipline and good tackling form! The defense was ready before the snap and looked like they knew their assignment. Tackling was excellent. The legs were their target! The offensive runner or pass catcher taken to the ground immediately. How many times did we see Oregon tacklers surround a runner try to tackle his shoulders and be carried for 5 or more yards! Teaching proper tackling technique will be a serious upgrade. Overall I loved the aggressive pressure on the offense! No more soft bend-not break passivity! The new Dan Lanning era is coming! Go Ducks!
  11. I recommend keeping the current policy. "Right now....you cannot get personal towards the current players and coaches, but once they leave--all gloves are off. " As a fan I can see the need for fans airing their feelings about coaches and players who spurn them and leave. Catharsis - "the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions." Criticize them but be civil and polite. No need to rant and go on and on. After a while all of us will move on enjoying OBD!
  12. 17 points 200 yds rushing 166 yds passing 1 turnover 2 sacks
  13. I agree with you Charles; me neither.
  14. This is the bio page from Western Kentucky Sounds like he is a good recruiter. With his experience in high scoring offenses he should fit well with Dillingham!
  15. Wow! It sure would be nice to get a special teams coach! We haven't had one for 5 years!
  16. Thanks Coach Boles! We have a talented room of running backs (sure hope Dye stays) and a 2 back formation will help utilize that talent. Multiple ways to use misdirection plays. Something that was not present enough this past season. The Ducks also have a great group of tight ends. Ferguson #19, Matavao #8, and Webb #18. All have good hands, can run, and are physical. I would hope there are ways to utilize their talent in ways similar to Kelce and Kittle in the NFL. I'm stoked that Dillingham is coming to the Ducks! A vertical passing game has been missing from Oregon for some time! Can't wait for Spring practices to start!
  17. Thank you 30Duck! Great to see Travis show his outstanding talent in this game. Quick feet, vision, and good hands! Great to see him join my other favorite Duck running backs - James and Barner.in the 3000 yard club!
  18. Dye was a warrior as usual! Does anyone know his stats for the game?
  19. Now I know Bellotti should have been the interim coach! These coaches can't leave soon enough!
  20. They have been holding the whole game! Finally got called!
  21. Ducks 31 - 24 2 turnovers 1sack 225 yrs passing
  22. I agree with all that is being said on this thread. I want Brown, Dye, and Dollars to exceed 300 yards running. I want our lines, both O and D, to dominate. I want to see our defense be aggressive. Especially not giving up the middle on 3rd and long! I want to see Moorhead and Deruyter regain their reputations and call a masterful game! I wish for a successful passing game from Brown. But if he is off I hope McClendon abandons the MC past and let another QB lead the Ducks!
  23. Best summary of Mario Chri$to-ball legacy: "5) The way the Ducks were manhandled twice by Utah at the season’s end certainly sucked the life out of what might have been an outstanding season." Thanks for an outstanding article. But I will be watching and rooting for Our Beloved Ducks!
  24. All of these were very fond memories! "Thanks for the memories" as Bob Hope would sing. Wasn't the "throwback to the quarterback" to Joey Harrington in the Holiday Bow!? Great play - great leader of the Ducks! I'll always remember Captain Comeback. One of my favorite Duck QB's Dan Fouts. From the skinny kid in handball class to the upset against UCLA to the San Diego Chargers - what a great QB!
  25. About an inch on the ground in Wilsonville and 31 degrees this morning.
