  1. Ducks 38 - 14 2 TO 3 Sacks 295 passing yards Jeunty gets some yards but BSU offense stalls otherwise due to more havoc plays by the D. Oregon O-line still not settled, but better with few miscues and the offense moves the ball.
  2. I'd like to see Sadiq on one of those. 230 lbs of elite speed.
  3. A worthy opponent, yes. Scary, no. The last Boise State game at Autzen was 2009. Whatever lingering fanny hurt is felt by those players (LaGarrette and the BSU dude he clocked notwithstanding) and those of us who had to watch the ignominious start to the Chip era. Most of Oregon's current players were six or seven years old at that time. So they (including DL and the rest of the staff) don't have any frame of reference for that loss. Lots to clean up after yesterday, particularly on the O-line, but the Ducks are still the significantly better team. They have plenty of egg to wash off their faces but they will be humbled and determined this week and I predict they come out against the Broncos with some fire in their eyes. And as long as we are remembering that 2009 season, let's also recall how the ship got righted and resulted in a Rose Bowl appearance.
  4. I agree that those issues cost the Ducks in both points and yards. I also agree that the quick reads and throws yesterday may very well have been a coaching response to less certainty that the OL could give DG enough time to hit the 2nd or 3rd read. I am, however, having a problem with believing that two potential All-American OTs with great PFF grades in 2023 have all of a sudden dropped off a cliff. Harper is still who he was last year but Pancho and Pickard were a bit of a disconnect. Pickard got the snaps to DG ok, but has neither the quickness, positional sense or pure mauling nastiness that JPJ had. JPJ made everyone else on the OL better. The spring game O-line issues I believe reflected more the fact that the 1s were divided into two teams and not that the whole unit is in trouble. Heck, even if you trotted out only the 2s there still should have been a significant talent advantage for Oregon against Idaho. It has to boil down to communication and comfort with what the guy next you is going to do, and to my eye, that was at least part of the issue yesterday. Bedford appears to be an integral part of the OL and getting him (and #2 Iuli) back at RG while moving Pancho to center should go a long way to correcting the lackluster performance we saw yesterday. Even if the O-line personnel stays the same for another week or two, just cleaning up the boneheaded alignment and assignment errors will make for a big improvement. If DG tells Cornelius to get his #300+ butt half a yard closer to the LOS, there would have been a 14 point swing in Oregon's favor. Boise State will be tougher competition than Idaho, but that defense gave up 45 points and 450+ yds (mainly passing) to Georgia Southern. If Oregon gets half of it's offensive mojo back and the OL stops stepping on own 5th extremity, there will be plenty of points scored. Finding a way to bottle up that Jeanty kid, making him wear Bassa like an iron maiden, will limit the damage their rushing attack can do.
  5. May I respectfully suggest that everyone take a slow deep breath and not assume the sky is falling? There are definitely concerns on the O-line, and keeping Pickard at center may not be a winning strategy. Several players along the front made some doofus plays that either killed drives or exposed Gabriel to a sack. I believe that those issues will be intensely addressed at practice this next week. It looks to me like it was a conservative game plan that nearly bit Oregon in the butt when Idaho didn't roll over as anticipated. If the Ducks come out flat against Boise State, then I'll be more concerned, but until then I'm going to give this team the benefit of the doubt. I am just thankful that Oregon now has a defense that can bail out the offense on a bad night. Lanning was obviously pissed off at the penalties, lackluster execution and missed assignments and will take this team to the doctor once he has taken it behind the woodshed.
  6. My goodness, we have all of a sudden developed a B1G offense. Not good
  7. Pickard got beat on that sack. 3 sacks and one lost fumble. O-line truly has a problem
  8. Wouldn't bench Cornelius as that really won't help things. The two illegal formation penalties he was responsible for probably wouldn't have been called last year. That said, there is now no question about how deep the OT can line up, so correct it. Communication on the O-line appears to be partly responsible as well for the missed assignments. That might be due to Pickard but they just all need to get on the same page. And IMHO, this Idaho team came to play and isn't intimidated by Autzen or the Duck's #3 ranking. The second half will be more telling.
  9. Go to the doctor at the half. Fix what ails the O-line. The one bright point is that Pickard may not be JPJ, but his snaps are good and he's only allowed one pressure. Gabriel gets a B+ so far. D is doing it's job. Give Idaho props, they are playing well.
  10. That was bad. Cornelius is having a bad game. O-line is not doing well
  11. Awesome PI by nickel Brandon Johnson. Got his head around just in time
  12. Watching the U v Fla game, there appears to be a new savior in Miami and his name is Cam Ward. He might very well be able to overcome the coaching deficits and get his team into the playoffs, particularly given the weaknesses exposed at Clemson and FSU. On another note, tOSU and the Chipster's offense underwhelmed until the 3rd qtr. The O-line took it's sweet time putting things together. The defense does look good. Really looking forward to Autzen on Oct 12th.
  13. Must be that special Google AI function. You know, 'Automated Idiot'..
  14. Succeeding as a high level D1 QB is so much more than just slinging the rock. Working the system, managing your personnel on the field and reading the defense is of greater importance. The Oregon coaching staff at some point knew that TT would never be 'the guy'. I think most Duck fans only wish him the best and hopefully he will play important minutes for Tulane this year.
  15. I know that last year Fearless Leader Fishduck wisely elected to have OBD stand down on the Prime criticism, but Sanders and Colorado have opened themselves up to a new round of ridicule for this stunt. It ain't cheating if it's a good old fashioned beating.
  16. Coachspeak has produced so many but the worst is: "One game at a time"... The only time this isn't true is with chess.
  17. The term 'safe standing areas' says it all. Chirping from the handful of UCLA students draws a brief turnaround and baleful glare from a couple of Duck players.. After a collective entitled gasp from the students, the chant begins: "2,4,6,8 We'll sue if you retaliate" Followed by feverish texting and social media posting about the threatening brutality of the Oregon football team. An attempt at a tent city on the 50 yardline takes two days and a court injunction to resolve. Ducks win by forfeit after leading 35-0.
  18. I can only imagine what those after game parties were like..
  19. On Oregon's entire roster Feldman couldn't find a second top 100 freak athlete? No Sadiq, Conerly or Stewart? Did Devon Jackson suddenly get weaker and slower? Good thing it is a team game.
  20. Yep, McAfee is like Skip Bayliss in the charmless blowhard and 'who gives a crap what he thinks' department. I'm still smiling over his hyping up of Utah on GameDay last fall before Oregon took them apart in Rice-Eccles. To his credit, McAfee took his lumps for the misfire. That said, the 'interview' with The Duck (RIP Puddles) was a fun watch.
  21. Seems as though there is a bit of buyer's remorse down in La-La Land. The sugar high of landing Riley and gloating over that 'victory' to Oregon fans has long worn off. The recent shellacking of Riley by E(SEC)PN shill Paul Finebaum can't be helping either.
  22. I think that since Bair was part of the 2024 class, he will be here in 2026 after his two year mission. Provided everyone sticks around, scary to think that Dallas Wilson and Dakorian Moore will have already been in the program for a year when Bair joins that WR room. Not sure who will be chucking the rock to them yet, but in a perfect world Dante Moore redshirts this year, breaks out in 2025 and leads Oregon to a NC in 2026.
  23. Report: Minnesota Vikings rookie Khyree Jackson dies in auto accident - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Per report, former Oregon, Alabama cornerback and Minnesota Vikings rookie... Details of the horrendous accident that also claimed the lives of two of Khyree's high school teammates. I feel for the police officers that had to make that discovery and notify the families. I spent 30 years on the trauma center end of these awful catastrophes and had a belly full of it: the finality of a few bad decisions, one too many drinks and the conceit that if you are young, you are invincible. The moment you know that there is nothing that can be done in the operating room to change the outcome. The family in the waiting room that you deliver the worst news possible to. I'm not saying anyone is necessarily at fault here, but there is no easy way to stomach these things.
  24. Truly awful news. Happened in his Maryland hometown late last night. Apparently confirmed by his mother to TMZ after she received the most dreaded 4am call possible. Don't yet know the details, but nothing good ever happens in a car after midnight on a long weekend. Sad day for all. Such a waste. RIP Khyree.
