Oregon Baseball/Pac-12 Dissed for a Final Time
Oregon goes to the Santa Barbara Regional in NCAA tournament DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon baseball stays on the West Coast and will head to sunny Santa Barbara to play in... The baseball team has been slotted in a west coast regional hosted by UCSB that includes Univ of San Diego and Fresno State. They are apparently the 3rd seed as they take on the USD Toreros first. Tough match-ups but it's a winnable regional if the bats that were AWOL in the Pac-12 tournament come back out to play.

Pig-2 Announce TV Deal: League Games of San Jose State and UNLV?
Recall that we are in the dead season after the spring game and before fall practices. What the heck else have we to do, aside from Duck baseball, softball, track and recruiting news? I for one really don't care other than hating the little beaver paw that is rummaging around my pocket and pulling out tax dollars. Now bashing those entitled, tanned, white powder addled, surgically augmented Maserati driving tools from the university of spoiled children, that is a different matter entirely...

Video Clip of Oregon's Tall Firs...Wow!
The crowd views of fans (nearly men only) looking like Woodrow Wilson in suits and ties is hilarious. You do have to appreciate the 30 foot set shots. Why no one thought to try and block them is beyond me. The technique last saw NBA mileage when Rick Barry hit them underhanded routinely from the foul line. N'Faly Dante would have been gravity defying and quite a shock to 1930s sensibilities. Thank heavens the game has changed.

When Times Were Better for USC Fans...(This Hasn't Aged Well)
https://athlonsports.com/college-football/usc-trojans-ucla-bruins-in-for-tough-transition-to-big-ten-oregon-washington-expected-to-compete Another brutally honest review of Riley's coaching at his last two stops and the rude awakening awaiting the LaLas in the B1G.

Huffy About Harmon: Try Some Tasty Trojan Tears?
I love how Li'l Lincoln has his index finger inside his partially closed fist, mimicking what Oregon is doing to U$C in the recruiting battles.

Huffy About Harmon: Try Some Tasty Trojan Tears?
Charles, thank you for being such a terrible sport and sharing those warm, heartfelt and inspiring Trojenz posts. And thanks as well for the money saved by all OBD fans as we get to live rent free in those sunny SoCal heads. "Plenty of room to stretch out in here!" Getting Harmon while keeping him away from U$C is absolutely priceless.

Oregon's Final Portal Transfer Targets to Watch For...
A bit of a surprise that Ben Roberts hit the transfer portal. I thought he had a pretty good Spring game. It makes one wonder if there isn't a defensive lineman nose tackle coming in the portal, hopefully Harmon.

CBS Sports - Lots of Love for Dillon Gabriel
Loved the comments about DG donating unis to his Oahu high school team with NIL funds. Also getting a minivan to shuttle visiting family around Eugene. Not much bling there. Pretty high character stuff.

Oregon TV Kickoff at 9:00 AM: Are you IN?
I was in Jerusalem on November 3, 2012 with a church group and found an Irish sports bar (yep, they've got them and it served Guinness. I bought our pastor a pint 😎) that put the USC-Oregon game on for us. It started at 1am local time. We watched most of Kenyon Barner's record setting rushing performance and the high scoring seesaw until they kicked us out at 4am. We then hoofed it back to our hotel where we watched the last 5 minutes on someone's laptop. Memorable. So it doesn't matter what time a game starts for the rabid Duck fan. 9am is just fine by me. I am hoping that there will be fewer 8pm starts, but I imagine we will still get stuck with one when we play USC, UCLA or the Fuskies.

Thanks for the clarification and correction.

Big Recruiting Bump From Spring Game to Come
Great coverage on this! It would be special to have another 5☆ JStew in the program. Am I the only one that looks at that young man next to DL and thinks "wow, that could be Arik Armstead 2.0"? It has to be a big plus that so many of DL and staff's recruits got significant high quality snaps on Saturday. Several frosh stood out and the improvement in the 2nd year players, particularly on defense, was dramatic. "If you're good enough, you're old enough"

Bryce Boettcher to Drop Football, Focus on Baseball?
As much as I love the local kid/dual sport storyline for BB, if he is now starting for Waz and is a major contributor, why risk a blown out ACL or separated shoulder as a 2-3rd team LB? While he may never get to the Show, he'll get at least a long cup of coffee in the Minors if he continues to improve. I'd rather see him going yard in Omaha than playing mop up snaps at Autzen. No one can take away what he has done already and he'll be remembered by Duck fans for quite awhile. And I do believe that MBB offers full scholarships.

Herbert is Lucky to Have Harbaugh...
Though not the only reason, look at how much the Lions have improved with Penei at OT. That extra 500 milliseconds of protection means a yard per play in the ground game, more completions and fewer INTs. That's why tackles go in the first round. Alt and Slater will make great bookends for the LAC O-Line and finally get JH some meaningful protection.

Live Updates from Oregon's 2024 Spring Football Game
Several good points and observations made here. There seemed to be some consternation about Gabriel and Moore expressed in the comments section of a couple of other sites. What I saw at the game was that the Dline played well and beat the fragmented Oline enough so that all QBs had to hurry throws a bit. The DBs and LBs had good coverage and there weren't that many open looks. One 'badly overthrown' DG pass early I believe was intentional, as the primary coverage was good and the safety was converging fast. A tighter throw may have been picked. Novosad made the biggest mistake by throwing at Dickey right into similar coverage, resulting in the Flowers pick. Moore had some nice throws, one uncharacteristically dropped by TFerg that killed a drive. It made Moore look a bit pedestrian even though he had made the right read. I don't think there are any bad takeaways on the QB play. The difference lies on defense, primarily with the two deep in the first half, where they came to play hard and fast. Interior Dline and Edge did their jobs and put pressure on the offense. That said, some real nice offensive WR play by Stewart, Tez and Lowe. The RBs were running hard, perhaps a bit too much so with Savage escorted to the locker room after a brutal pop by James. Harris is going to be a part of this offense one way or another. He is a bulldozer once he gets a step. Not going to make a LeGarrette Blount comparison just yet but the combination of size, speed and brute force is something Oregon hasn't had since Royce and JStew. Add to that a 49yd down the middle FG with plenty to spare. All in all the day didn't have some of the flash of previous spring games, but there sure was a lot to like in all facets of the game from veterans and newcomers alike.

Troy Joins Bo in Mile High
And.. Bucky to the Bucs at #25 pick of the 4th round. There may be more to come, but that's all seven of the main Duck targets off the board. A new high mark of draftees. Job well done, Oregon!

Printable Spring Game Roster?
My bad, it's not really printable. One could cut and paste it together as a Word file, but that's a crap ton of extra work for old guys like us. Hopefully the Go Ducks site will come up with something before the game starts.

Troy Joins Bo in Mile High
And Evan Williams just dropped two picks later to the Packers. Four Ducks drafted so far in the first eleven picks of the 4th round. Six and counting, matching the previous Duck high. Go Bucky!

Troy Joins Bo in Mile High
Oops, I missed that it was Khyree Jackson and not Tysheem (still with the Ducks, dumb me) in the draft. Double missed that he went one pick before Dorlus to the Vikings. I need a better editor.
-
Troy Joins Bo in Mile High
And seven picks later Dorlus goes to Altanta at 109. So that's four. Just Bucky, Tysheem and EvanW to go to get to seven. I'm anticipating this round will be pretty Duck heavy.

Printable Spring Game Roster?
Oregon announces green and white team rosters for Spring Game 247SPORTS.COM The Ducks have announced their spring game rosters with Team Green and Team White It might be behind a 24/7 firewall, but here is a somewhat disjointed roster that includes jersey numbers. Go Ducks!

Troy Joins Bo in Mile High
Denver traded several slots up to get him so I wonder if they knew someone else, like the Bolts, were ready to pull the trigger to give JH another legit target.

I Know it is TOO SOON, But I'm in LOVE Again...
Boneyard RPM IPA still very much alive and kicking and is my go to IPA, but I will try Charles's suggestion for sure. Maybe when watching the replay of the spring game tomorrow.

Troy Joins Bo in Mile High
Broncos just drafted Troy Franklin in the early 4th round. They got a steal and the chemistry with Bo is a big plus. Wonder how much input Bo had in this decision when Franklin didn't go in the 2nd or 3rd and was still available. Go Pro Ducks!

Bo Nix No. 12 Pick to Denver: NFL Draft Thread of Thoughts and Reactions
That one made me raise both eyebrows. A Dukie better than Rimington winner JPJ? The competition level was certainly tougher in the Pac-12 (RIP). The only thing that I can see is that maybe Barton is a bit bigger and more versatile having played LT for two years and that the Bucs wanted to be able to move him around. Still, hard to argue that JPJ isn't the best center in the draft. My bet is he goes early in the 2nd round later today. He also can play at the guard spot but not really suited to be an OT. He has that edge of pure nasty that will make some team very happy, wherever he plays between the tackles. I would love to see JPJ, TFrank and Dorlus all come off today with Bucky and Tysheem as potential move ups. Still very possible that EvanW goes late rounds and that Oregon will have it's first seven man draft class. Oh yeah, and to hades with those 'experts' like BoogerMac who call Bo a dink and dunk QB. Like Sean Payton can't recognize the smarts and talent to fit his scheme. Same bozos that thought JH would get some coach fired (well yep, Lynn got fired, but because LAC needed an upgrade to develop Justin) or that Harbaugh would trade him to move up and take JJMcC in the draft. All graduates of the Bayless-Acho school of clickbait lame sports journalism.
