  1. A bit off topic, but Forsythe was replaced by Walk at center when AF's shoulder was reinjured. I saw AF look tentative on several blocks when the offense was sputtering mid game. Walk played some of those snaps at LG but then did a great job at center for the two TD drives late in the game. Kudos to both for their line play this year. They will be missed.
  2. Some random pontifications and possibly misguided observations: All the static about not liking Oregon except for Nike reflects the bias of someone who has never been here and has a mother pushing another place like Michigan. Tough to tell mama no. If football lands him, football buys his scholly and NIL. His ideal weight for track is around 220#. Effective TE weight around 240# and Edge +250#. He has a choice to make, indeed. He could run track and be a great WR at #220, ala Jordan Kent, but with better speed. I'll bet his high point in the back of the end zone would be somewhere around 11ft. Take that, Stanford! I'm sure someone has looked at lifetime earnings for an Olympic sprinter vs elite NFL wide out/TE/Edge. Both during playing years and after. I'll bet it ain't close. DL and crew must have a pretty good pitch to get him out here so late in the recruitment process and have a role that they want him to fill. I'll trust them to decide on fit, character and potential. And to talk mama into it if that is possible. Mama vs Puddles/Phil/Nike/Hayward/DL? Go Ducks!
  3. One can have issues with the ranking of each win, but overall a fun read. One correction, though. If I'm not in error, wasn't it Michael Clay that corralled the fumble in the 2012 RB that sent the Chipster airborne? Kiko got a clutch pick late against Russell Wilson.
  4. If that was part of the deal for Bo 2023, I'm good with it. Looks like he does have some serious skills.
  5. All I can say is: "Intercepcion! Peek Seex! Mase' Fuuuna! Quack, quack, quack, quack!" Welcome back #18.
  6. Dorlus is listed to start at DE on the two deep. That will help the D line significantly in getting pressure on Maye. Maybe it also means he is coming back 2023?
  7. Oregon 48-38 2 TO 1 Sack 315 yds Oregon pounds the rock and plays keep away in the 2nd half to lower both UNC opportunities and our passing yardage.
  8. Duck Tape: Film Analysis of North Carolina 2022 WWW.ADDICTEDTOQUACK.COM A preview of Oregon’s Holiday Bowl opponent in San Diego Hythloday's entertaining and insightful film breakdown of UNC. Their QB Maye is the real deal. Their defense is a bit of a dumpster fire in both the run and pass game even before the transfers and opt outs. He includes a few clips of UNC defensive successes against Miami. You know what's coming here. They're against straight up A or B gap handoffs to the RB out of the pistol, and delayed drop back passes to the RB or inside WR well short of the 1st down marker.
  9. JH didn't have his best game, but played well enough to earn his first playoff berth. The Bolt's D was lights out, picking Foles 3 times.
  10. I think that more than any other issue, the timing of the play calls out of the pistol was the glaring problem under Cristobal. Oregon found itself in third and long way too many times due to the predictably of pistol-run on 1st and 2nd downs. It wasn't talent level either. Witness the quality of the O-line and running backs last year. The QB we all thought was mediocre is now a Baltimore Raven. It worked against tOSU because their DC refused to adjust and Moorhead let it all hang out with passing on early downs. It didn't work against teams (Utah) that knew what was coming because of the plodding power run and when used, the RPO was lots of R and not much P. IMO, the pistol as part of a dynamic true RPO offense with a Bo Nix at the helm is a going to be very different animal than one that pounds it's chest and dares you to stop it when staring at 7 or 8 in the box.
  11. Wish him well. He'll be a good 1-2 RB combination with Ott.
  12. Agreed, Charles. Did Oregon even extend an offer? Between TT and Novosad behind Nix, the QB room is full. If Uiagalelei comes, then likely TT hits the portal. That may be a small net gain, but how much? DJ's play at Clemson has been inconsistent enough to date for him to lose the starting job and precipitate hitting the portal. He certainly wouldn't beat out Bo to start in 2023. I suppose brother Matayo's commitment to Oregon may play a role. For whatever reason it just doesn't seem like a great move for DJ or the Ducks, but maybe it was part of the consideration to get younger bro here.
  13. Sorry to see him go, but if his draft eval put him in the top two rounds another year in green probably wouldn't change things too much. Great Duck player and befitting of the incredible Sewell legacy. With LaDuke and Flowe gone does that leave Keith Brown as the #1 with Jackson and Taggart behind him? Bassa seems a bit small to slide to the middle. DL likely has another portal player already in mind to bring in at the Mike.
  14. Congrats to DL and Coach Klemm. He had serious big name P-5 interest so I'll bet he'll be a good fit and immediate help on the O-line
  15. Unfortunately whining and complaining is part of the U$C DNA. So is griping about how your housekeeper won't clean the pool house sinks properly, how the valet at Spago parks the Ferrari next to a Buick, how your landscaper cuts the bougainvillea too close to the twelve foot high abobe security wall, how Prada on Rodeo Dr. just can't seem to keep your seasonal color in stock and how the aging B list celebrity next door won't keep their blinds down.
  16. No big surprise there. The upside is the Ducks flipping Bowen and Austin today. Seems to be plenty of CB/S talent coming in today that wasn't fully anticipated 24hrs ago
  17. If you mean the current Oregon v Miami, I would predict: Oregon 45 Miami 24 As to why MC recruits so well, it's in part the Florida connections and his selling power to parents. It's also like the intro to the old Jackie Gleason show: "From the sun and fun capitol of the world, Miami Beach!"
  18. While TT has looked out of sync and uncertain in his limited playing time, part of this is on the coaches for the situations and play calling he's had to execute. His performance in the spring game running the offense has been ok and his arm strength is elite. Nix applauded TT's preparation and assistance in the week running up to the Utah game when he couldn't take 1st team reps. It sounded like Bo had full confidence in Ty to run the offense if he couldn't. I think he is a high quality kid and maybe only needs one more year in the 'same' system, under Stein's and Bo's tutelage, to live up to his 5☆ potential. With Moore going to UCLA I would think that TT stays put at Oregon. Hopefully the brouhaha surrounding Moore's recruitment didn't make him feel so marginalized that he wants a fresh start somewhere else. Pretty good bet that if the offense clicks for him this year and it shows out on the field, he'll be next in line to take the wheel of the Ferrari and prove us doubters (myself included) premature in our assessment.
  19. Recall that Slater was a 3☆ who signed with Northwestern. He went on to be an All-American OT that went in the first round to LAC. He had a great rookie season protecting Justin's blind side, and they really miss him this year. Penei was a 4☆, and we all know how he worked out for Oregon. And now for Detroit. Sala: 4☆ Forsyth, Harper and TJ Bass: 3☆ Ryan Walk: walk on You don't need 5-stars to put together one of the premier O-lines in the country. It’s great that Conerly is in the fold and getting a kid like Proctor would be nice. However I think adding an experienced player or two from the portal or juco ranks with Klemm coaching the group, things will be just fine.
  20. The beauty is Will R acting like a field general ala PP and distributing the ball better. Getting that extra pass to the open man. And Dante working the post to dish back out when he is double (and against Portland, sometimes triple) teamed. Rigsby is really evolving into a big time piece, and seeing Soares and Ware knocking down treys gives at least 5 guys that are outside threats. Wur is finally developing and giving good minutes. Hopefully the Ducks get the other injured backcourt players back for Pac12 play. Altman may have a tournament team yet in spite of the slow start.
