Dan Lanning’s Pursuit of Elite: Areas of Improvement
JDuck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Numerous studies in Leadership and the corporate world show that a bunch of average brains will outperform a group of MIT, Cal Tech, Harvard, etc. elites, if they work better as a team. Fit for the scheme, development, etc. blow away a high load of "stars". Coaching continuity is important. Saban had a culture that could sustain that despite losing coordinators and assistants annually. A testament to why he truly is the GOAT, hopefully Lanning can replicate that culture, and perhaps retain assistants at a higher rate. $$$? -
Pull up the box score and team stats on espn...hard to believe. Whatever the buyout, it's worth it. Embarrassing.

2024 College Football - Chip Kelly and the Ohio State Run Game
JDuck replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
2-0, let alone 3-0 against tOSU should we meet in the playoffs, would be tough. It'll be about the D. Our O should be equally potent along with Texas. Year 3 Lanning and the staff have to coach it up, and out coach on game days. SOS will be tough, 8 straight conference games, longer flights, but we can do it -
Saban woulda kicked the FG
-
I said it at the time...don't pull a Lanning, kick the field goal. Now they are down 3, we'll see how this ends. It changed the tone of the game for the Lions

Sugar Bowl Thread: Washington vs. Texas

Makes me and to think 3 points and it could be us. I think we could compete on this stage. Recruiting should get us to this level quick. DeBoer must be a heckuva coach...the mutts don't have this level of talent on paper. I guess we look better now. I still have to root for the cheaters next Monday. -
2 total penalties in the game...I noticed that

GameDay Thread versus Liberty: Join Us!
JDuck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Charles, your pre-game article was unfortunately telling, but we've got it going now. DL will HAVE to figure out the slow starts to win big boy games next year. 3 drops won't help Nix get the % record, but it's not over. He got the Mariota record already -

14th time is the charm...here we go Ducks 53-17 4 take aways 4 sacks 364 passing yards Nix completes 17 of 19 to break the % record, 4 TD passes breaks Mariota single season TD

Why Oregon Needs Their ‘A’ Game for Liberty U.

Speed, talent like they have not seen. Best D they will have seen by far. It won't be close. 53-17 maybe, they score on our backups in the 2nd half -
BET-MGM - Top 24 Teams Odds-On to Win the 2024/25 CFB Playoff Title
JDuck replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Once again, sooooo based on this year, and pumping up the blue bloods, errrrr, has-beens. aTm, Michigan, Clemson, USuC...even tOSU. Don't see any of them that high next year. -
I read they were considering changing the date to accommodate UH stadium situation, which would mean losing one of our bye weeks...August 24th is it or we lose a bye week, so I'm just saying if UH can't handle that date, don't play them.

Oregon Mens Basketball: Too Many Surprises?
JDuck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I'm not surprised at all with Shelstad, I think he'll be a lot better than Pritchard by next year, it's just if he'll stay for 3 years...I think if Cook was healthy, he and Shelstad and Evans are going to be a huge core starting group. Keep Dante healthy, and Kario and the other guards...look out. Curious on thoughts about the bigs being out...are we better? One good big has never hurt, especially for the D side, against teams with a great 4 or 5...but Altman's history has been more of a small-ball style with great passing, and shooting, which the last couple years, we have not shot well at all. Bittle and Dante didn't seem to compliment that well when they were both healthy, they are both really the same position, didn't seem to blend trying to play 4 and 5 together. Seemed better giving each other a breather. Big's that can shoot the perimeter are the rage nowadays...how does that fit DA's style? -
I mean in terms of rescheduling...more important to keep the bye's then having a game 13. The $$ is not important for us.
-
Keeping the bye weeks is more important for us.
