Colby Shade flied out to right field. Oregon 3 - Ball State 3 after two innings
  5. Jace Stoffal gets off to an ugly start of game two, giving up three runs in the top of the first inning. Ducks better put on their rally caps early in this game! Tanner Smith gets our Ducks off to a good start with a leadoff walk. Colby Shade hit a high bouncer that the shortstop can't handle. Runners at second and first with nobody out. Brennan Milone hit a ground ball to third base that becomes a double play. Colby Shade the only runner at second. Jacob Walsh ends the bottom of the first with a flyout to left field. Gavin Grant quickly gets into a no balls, two strike count. He ends the game looking at a pitch outside that is called for the third strike. Ball State takes game two of the series on a score of 3-2. It's a beautiful afternoon at PK Park, so lets play the second half of the doubleheader!

Sam Novitske cannot handle a hot hit at third base which bounces into short right field and puts runners at third and second. A wild pitch scores the tying run and puts the go ahead runner at third base. An attempted steal of home is gunned down. Two outs with nobody on base. A solo home run to center right gives the Cardinals a one run lead. Ducks get out of the inning on a fly out to center field. Ball State 3 - Oregon 2 headed to the bottom of the eighth inning.
  10. Anthony Hall gets a single to right field, and the Ball State coach was not happy as he though his right fielder caught the liner. Coach Waz channeling George Horton has Sam Novitske sacrifice bunt Hall to second base. After a strike out, the BSU pitcher walks Gavin Grant on four straight pitches and he is given the hook. 15. This game was actually competitive through 6.5 innings with Ball State tying the game at 6-6. Ducks scored two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to take the lead, and five more in a "walk-a-thon" bottom of the 8th. Six walks, a hit batter, and a bunt single did the damage against the Cardinals in the inning.
  16. We need a lot more accurate shooting!
  17. I loved Big Franck's passion for the game, but let's face it, he was behind at least two other big centers for playing time in the future. Thank you Franck Kepnang for two years as a Duck. I sincerely wish you the best for your career, and hope you find a landing spot where your talents will be developed to their fullest.
  18. After the sweep of his baseball team at UCLA.
  19. And that's a wrap from Westwood, where UCLA sweeps the three games series with Oregon, as the Bruins win game three by a score of 5-4. All three games were decided by a one run margin. Evidently good pitching does beat good hitting. Oregon has seven starters with a season batting average over .300. UCLA has only two starters hitting over .300.
  20. Well, here we go again. A solo home run gets the Bruins a one run lead after seven innings. UCLA 5 - Oregon 4
  21. Bottom of the sixth with runners at the corners and two out, a 2 RBI double for UCLA, ties the game at 4-4. Ducks get the last out.
