  1. Late start is tough for us eastern Ducks. Especially those of us who work on Sunday, it's pretty much impossible.
  2. I think it is a little harder to instill the want to is some 4-5* guys, but from the get go it seems to have been a focus of DL. Get better every day. Do something every day to become a better player. We heard it over an dover again and still do. Lanning lineage is from two programs that sign a lot of blue chip players and then make them better. He knows you aren't going to win against GA, Bama or OSU or Michigan in the B1G if the 4-5* guys aren't better as Sophs than freshmen and better as Juniors than sophs. Can he do it to the level of the Utes? That's a big task and maybe not necessary, but I'd sure like to see it.
  3. Yeah, and I am not full of confidence either, though I picked the Ducks... Go Ducks!, Utah has just been finding ways to win. I expect it to be very competitive.
  4. Friends in VA are very high on JMU not only this year, but in the future. They have been doing a slow build for some time and just getting better and better. They have done things the right way and it's paying off. They may not win every game, but I'd bet on this, they would get 4 sacks against any team in the PAC. The D is solid at any level. On the way they've won two NCs. There overall athletic department is solid, but it will be tough finding their way into a P conference any time soon. Harrisonburg, VA is not exactly a giant market and they are not quite close enough to DC be NOVA.
  5. Unfortunately I had a previous commitment and didn't see the game live. Hope to catch a replay on PAC Network soon. Looking at the box score, if I hadn't seen the actual score of the game I would have thought Oregon won by 10. Oregon won every stat except the score. Stats can fool you. Missed field goal really hurt. I, like many others expect this won't be the last time the two teams meet. Hope things are different in Vegas.
  6. The reason I'm pretty confident in this one is that Oregon's defense has been playing well recently and UW hasn't stopped anyone all year. UW gets some turn overs, but if Oregon takes care of the ball (with the most experienced QB in college football, a likelihood) UW doesn't stop UO's offense all game long. On the other side, UO stops UW often enough to make this a 2 or 3 score win. Both offenses are really good, but only one defense is. That defense is Oregon's. Go Ducks!
  7. It's just the second year and maybe it's a little pre-mature, but I'm sure feeling like Oregon has a mighty big upgrade at HC from MC to DL.
  8. Yeah, I think your "poor Dawgs" will be okay. Thanks for sharing the info. Good news for the Ducks! Hope UG gets the guy they want.
  9. Yeah, JJ is a proven player, run stopper, pass rusher, and fully capable of covering tight ends or guys out of the back field. Start or not, he'll see the field in a hurry when he's in game shape.
  10. Pretty quickly, when the punter jumped for a ball that wasn't there.
  11. Just watched the replay of the Cal UW game. I'm actually not that impressed. Outside of a few big plays to start the game (both of which should have been called back) spotting the pups a 14-0 lead it was a fairly close game. If the Cal QB hadn't had a propensity to throw the ball to Washington defenders Cal may have won.
  12. It will be quite an accomplishment for anyone to run the table in the PAC this year, even 1 loss will be a terrific season for anyone who does it. But we see how there is already a bias against the conference. Who could watch FSU the last two weeks and rank them ahead of UW or UO? I wouldn't put Penn St. ahead of them either. And Ohio St. hasn't been that impressive either. But here we are, 4 top ten teams, but ranked 7-10. I'm hoping a 1 loss team gets into the playoffs and that it is Oregon, but it will be interesting to see the playoff rankings when they come out. I still find it a great irony that in the last year of the PAC it just might be the best conference in the country.
  13. I think the Ducks cover or at least come close. Buffs are not sneaking up on anyone now for one. The last two weeks their competition has not been great and they have not exactly smoked teams they should have. While they have some dynamic play makers, Oregon is a step up on a talent level that I'm not sure Colorado is ready for. That will lead to mistakes and they already made plenty against CSU. If Oregon takes advantage of those mistakes it could get ugly, early. I also don't think they have faced an offense with the combination of ability to pound you with the run and explosive passing game that Oregon has. But honestly every offense they have played against so far has looked explosive, maybe a comment on the Colorado defense.
  14. Yeah, if an alien arrived here and watched college football knowing nothing else but how the teams were playing, would they believe that the PAC is the conference that is in its last season? It's not much of a stretch now to say the PAC is the best football conference in the country this year. How ironic.
  15. Am I being too critical, I know we scored 24 in the first quarter, but it seems a lot of the offense is dink and dunk, nickel and dime. It's like we're trying to take 3 or 4 downs to get a first down. Of course then we pull off a 40 yard pass or 20 yard run. Never mind.
  16. Bulletin board material, sure. Making a big difference in how the game plays out, no. This statement was about the CO past. A lot of those players aren't around anymore. Lots of new guys, who are looking pretty good so far. Sanders and these players realize that what Lanning said was true. I count (not very hard) one winning season since 2011. This is a feast for the fans though! If Colorado were to pull off the upset? Oh my! Lanning, but even more so Duck fans, would never hear the end of it. Well at least not until next year when the two teams probably don't play each other for a while.
  17. Oregon 65 Hawaii 13 3 TOs 6 sacks 312 passing (340 rushing)
  18. yeah, most of the responses to this tweet are laughing faces and he hasn't responded. I can certainly understand the MSU guys being impressed with DL, but he is totally out of his mind with the idea that MSU has greater resources to work with that would 10X DL's effectiveness. 🤣 Guy's a crackpot.
  19. Ducks 45-24 3 TOs 1 Sack Many more pressures 272 passing yards (255 rushing as ducks continue a balanced attack)
  20. Yes, obvious MVP of the game, the Duck! What a performance!
