  1. I'm not FishDuck and don't claim his knowledge, but there is a difference between Bo running to gain yards and score touchdowns at Oregon and Bo running for his life at Auburn. That said, Bo looked like a great young QB his first year with Dillingham as the OC. They seemed to work well together then and now they are back together. My hope is that this works because Dilly uses the talents of players he has to their max. Put Bo in a drop back passer offense and he would be stifled. Next year if Bo is not around, maybe we see the offense working a little differently with a new guy. This O is definitely tailored to Bo's strengths.
  2. I'm not sure I want Oregon to be "AN" SEC program. Outside of Alabama and Georgia right now (let's see what happens with surprising Tennessee), who competes for a NC year after year? I would like to see Oregon consistently comparable to "TOP" SEC programs. That's the standard.
  3. I'm really not concerned about peaking too soon this year, at least not yet (and we're well into the second half of the season). There is still a lot of room to improve. The slow starts in some games, the pass D/coverage, we could have scored three more touch downs (or at least field goals, hitting my prediction of 51 points) but didn't finish in the red zone. Get better every day, then making each game better than the last. Hopefully by the bowl game, maybe even the playoffs we are peaking. With continued improvement this can certainly be one of the top four teams in the country when all the dust settles, even if they do not make the playoffs.
  4. Take 2 please. Let him come back healthy later when we really need him.
  5. Great response after the turn over, good defensive possession, then move with confidence on offense for the TD.
  6. Thanks, this is really helpful. I admit I now little about Cal this years other than the heavy Duck influence on the coaching staff. And they always play us tough in Berkley. I'm hoping our D comes through with some big plays, a few turnovers, sacks and negative yardage plays. Get the ball to our offense a few extra times and we win big.
  7. I think this is an interesting discussion, but it's a long shot for happening. Here's the thing with the first game. Oregon was playing last years Georgia (that would pound the ball inside to set up everything else) team and frankly got out coached. This years Georgia team beat Oregon on the edge not by pounding the ball inside. Oregon had trouble tackling Georgia's big strong receivers on the edge which led to big plays. I think after a season of watching this years Georgia team and how some others have kept them a little better corralled if not totally stopped, the Ducks have a better game plan next time. That said, Georgia scores 35 on the Ducks this time. Question is can the Ducks score 35+ on Georgia? I'm thinking not, but 35-27 Georgia seems realistic.
  8. I think a lot of players who committed to other programs are now looking at how Oregon is playing and giving the Ducks a second look. If I was a high school player right now and looked around the country at how different teams were playing, it would be pretty easy to see Oregon would be one of the most fun teams to play for. Even in these days of NIL, that still counts for a lot.
  9. Great article, thanks for posting! I was also skeptical when I heard of Bo's transfer to Oregon. I always though ne could be a good QB in the right circumstance, but wondered if developing Ty and Butters wasn't a wiser course. Yeah, I'll admit I was wrong. I do want to see the others developed, but I was wrong about Bo Nix. He is playing like a great QB now. I didn't foresee that. I am happy for him and of course happy for Oregon football! Oregon football is fun again! Bo has a lot to do with that!
  10. Good for Bo for having the confidence in himself and his team to believe they could beat Georgia now! I totally agree it would be a different game now. Oregon is much, much better. I assume that Georgia has also improved week to week. It would be interesting. I'm not sure I have as much confidence as Bo to say definitely Oregon would win, but I don't think it is a stretch to say it wouldn't be 49-3. I'll go as far as to say the game wouldn't be decided until the 4th quarter one way or the other the way both teams are playing now.
  11. I'm giving Ty a little space here. My feeling is that if something were to happen to Nix we would see a different Ty. Ty would spent a week running with the first team offense, maybe with a little slimmed down version of the offense and with the coaches confidence behind him. We would be surprised at how good he has suddenly become. We have seen him a few times now when the game is over, but the last few minutes have to be run out. How emotionally pumped up would you be? Certainly not wishing anything bad for Bo, but he were to be out for a game or two and Ty got a chance to be QB1 just for a week or two, I think we would see a different player.
  12. I don't know about all California teams, but definitely SC. And listening to these announcers, you get the idea they all graduated from SC. They are just raving about all this talent that SC has put together. Well at least it is 11pm here in the East and time for me to go to bed. Just as well this is nauseating.
  13. I don't have the Oregon game here in Ohio, but you are sure right about them promoting SC. With just decent officiating WSU is up a touchdown, maybe two. It's like they decided ahead of time who is supposed to win and they are calling the game accordingly.
  14. WSU giving up now, can't keep fighting against the extra players on the field for SC.
  15. Looks like they will, but with a little help from their friends in the stripped shirts. Every time WSU has done something good in the second half there has been a flag. One or two have been legit. And I can't get the Oregon game here, so I have to watch this... I can't cuss on here, so I won't say anything.
  16. Don't look now but WSU just spotted USC 10 points and then started dominating them. 14 - 10 WSU up. Half filled stadium is pretty quiet now.
  17. Wonder after watching this is he might be better ont he defensive side. looked pretty good there.
  18. To be fair, he was third string at Auburn before injuries. Despite 28 points in the second half, Auburns defense didn't look bad.
  19. Hmmm... I'm not sure I like Chip having two weeks to pull a few tricks out of his hat and from up his sleeves against our promising but rookie coach. Looking to be a great game!
  20. Part of it was we went into the game expecting last years GA offense. We stopped their power running game, we missed a couple dozen +- tackles on the edge and they and the rest is history. They jet swept, bubble screened and swing passed us to death. If we had made clean tackles on those consistently, close game. We didn't. Looked like a totally different team by BYU. Robbie actually looked a little better in the second half, but the Georgia offense looked a lot better. They looked like the #1 team in the country in the second half, not so much the first.
  21. Watching half the game against Georgia so far, I can see Robbie being behind Ty and Butters. He has some talent, runs it really well, but not ready for this level yet. He throws hard, has a good arm, but little touch. Fortunately for Auburn to this point Georgia seems a little flat on offense themselves.
