Maybe he could help Ty Thompson get his head on straight and coach him up as Oregon's QB coach/mentor for a couple seasons. I wouldn't mind that - if Lanning feels he's needed.

Incredible! OBD Member NAILS Precise Score in Prediction Contest!

Say PittDuck. Predict a win for Oregon next weekend too, OK? -
Observations on Saturday Morning Getting Ready to go to the Game
Mic replied to Red Eddy Green's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Enjoy the game and have fun. Don't blink or you might miss a score ore two. This could be a shoot-out. I hope the Ducks are the ones doing all the shooting. WSU has an irritating way of slinging the ball around, tho. GO DUCKS! -
Not when the Liberal Arts education is liberal in the classic sense of the word and not the modern. Nice set of trivia facts, Jon. Thanks.

Judging from most of the score predictions more than a few think O's going to put down the pedal. As dangerous as WSU has been to the Ducks in past years, I sure hope they do. They surprised me when Colorado came into town. I hope they do similar things to the Cougars.

USC Touts Beating Oregon for a Recruit (Oh Yeah...Right!)

I've watched them play twice. They're pretty well-coached and have some good players. There's probably a team or two in the Pac-12 they could handle as well.
-
No, they're not ready for Georgia yet. lol But I've enjoyed watching them play this year. They do have some athletes. Just not a whole team of them like the big boys.

USC Touts Beating Oregon for a Recruit (Oh Yeah...Right!)

Gotcha, Charles, but after Oregon hands them their lunch he can still change his mind and go elsewhere! lol (OK, I hate USC, I admit it...) -
The Dukes are having one of their best years in awhile. Yesterday's win over Marshall on the road makes them 7-0 with another win earlier over Virgina, also on Virginia's home field. 1st place in the Sun Belt. OK, that's not something to start jumping up and down about. Yet. But when do fans start to take notice of this team and start thinking they might find a place at the table someday? 12-0? These types of teams having seasons like this are making collegiate football even more fun to watch. Others are Duke and North Carolina; though they probably dwarf James Madison. GO DUKES I hope you guys can hang on to your coach.

USC Touts Beating Oregon for a Recruit (Oh Yeah...Right!)

Shows is how far Oregon has come when former 'All-Everything, Be-Everything' USC has fallen to where they resort to stunts like this. Time was, the USC Trojans pretended not to know there were any teams in Oregon worth paying attention to. Or any teams other then them and UCLA. Wait til they come to Eugene in a few weeks. Their prized Commit may de-commit. -
I imagine kickoff times for the best matchups will be slotted for the best audiences. If that's 12:00 to 4:00 o'clock Eastern, then I imagine that's the slot most games will start. (9-1 Pacific). I can't imagine Ohio St or Michigan wanting to come out to the West Coast and be slotted for a 4:00 pm PST start. Their fans would scream bloody murder. Might make home games at Autzen much better later in the season. Fans might be able to get home before dark.

That's a new one on me. So many beers to taste... so little time...

Pac-12 Mum on 3 Late Hits to Oregon Players
Mic replied to anyotherduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Lanning doesn't seem much concerned that the refs aren't trying to do a good job. A lot of us might feel differently but I'll defer to Coach's feelings on this. Maybe he doesn't want to stir things up with the Officiating committee or maybe he feels the point has been made. I'd really hate to think the officials were not protecting the players for whatever reason. Otherwise, why have them in the game? -
The Oregon Ducks Offense: The Texas Cross
Mic replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Without getting inside the coaches heads I'd surmise the three pass attempts were called thinking that UW, (knowing their weakness against the run) would expect that instead. But analysts here at FishDuck can probably point to defensive schemes presented to Bo to which he responded with the plays he did. OR he passed because that was what was decided on by Stein & Co. -
One could understand the need for commercials when the broadcasts were free to the viewer. One cannot understand it when the consumer is already paying to watch the streams. I'm entirely with you on this, Ducky

I've seen some pretty amazing spreads myself at Autzen over the years. Some people really go all-out and are actually mostly there for the party, setting up flatscreens to watch the game instead of inside the stadium. Full bars, chaffing dish layouts, pellet stoves and food buffets enough to serve 25-40 people or more. I attended one last year that had about 50 people stop in for drinks and grub. There was a 65"+ flatscreen hanging off the side of the motorhome and at least a dozen people watching games before the Ducks played, during and after. One gets the idea, the football games themselves are almost a second to the party. GO OREGON!

OBD Prediction Contest vs. Washington State!

Oregon 42-20 1 TO 2 sacks 300 yards passing -
Since cable is not an option for communities like ours 30 miles from the nearest town, and satellite service is so iffy and spotty in the winter months here in the mountains, streaming is about the only real option for customers like myself. But streaming networks have so patch-worked the coverage between themselves that one has to subscribe to a multitude of services to get just the handful of channels wanted. Face it, to get collegiate and professional sports, open the wallet wide. No one ever said the 'circus for the people' would be cheap or easy. It used to be, years ago when the broadcast networks reigned and everything was free. But mankind has 'progressed' beyond that.

That's 20 points via Odds Shark. We'll see. WSU always puts up a good fight.

Reminds me of a beer an old friend of mine told me about that I just had to try. He was originally from Mora, Minnesota and he had this grand fondness for Grain Belt beer. Told me I had to get it off the tap if I could, when I went out to visit family in St. Paul. I didn't get a chance to try it off the tap but I brought a case home for the the two of us to enjoy. He loved it, it was just so-so for me, probably because he bragged it up so high. But everything I've heard about Yengling has been positive. Maybe someday I'll get a chance to try it. I heard they capitalized on Bud Light's troubles. Fine with me if they did.
-
Then again, had the Ducks won I'd have rewatched it at least three times by now!
-
I've never tasted Yuengling beer. I love a host of crafts from Ninkazi, Hop Valley, Deschutes, 7-Devils, Boneyard, etc, etc. But I've never seen Yuengling for sale down here on the south coast. Go figure...

It sounds delicious! I have my own rib recipe that I fix on my Oklahoma Joes drum smoker. If it weren't so darned heavy (150 lbs.) I'd love to take it to Autzen some weekend. Smokes pork shoulders very well too for my pulled pork sliders.
