  1. More to the point look what happened to Colorado after leading a struggling Stanford by 29! I also think WSU will be very motivated after their loss (at home!) to Az
  2. Translation: Oregon's not quite there, yet. Almost. But not quite. I'm gaining confidence that O is getting closer by the game.
  3. After what happened in Seattle on Saturday I would not be surprised to see Oregon come out angry at a team with the word Washington in its name. Is there a way to find out how good a coach Dan Lanning (still) is - or isn't? Yeah, watch what happens in Eugene on the 21st. Of course, by ugly I mean for WSU.
  4. All the proof one needs as to how good Oregon still is and how much they are still regarded by CFB 'experts' outside the state is the fact that after this loss, they dropped exactly 1 slot in the national polls. This was a loss, on the road, to one of the best teams in the nation - by 3 points. Not only were the Ducks in this game, they were in position to win it and many thought they were going to. This is no time to pile the gear and set it on fire.
  5. The sooner we put this loss in the rear view mirror and start looking forward to WSU and the remaining 6 games, the better. Oregon is still in the hunt, everyone. And Oregon is still a very fine football program - and getting better. And let's never forget, no matter how badly we feel about this loss, imagine how the players and coaches feel about it. Let's keep things in perspective, please. GO OREGON!
  6. Well, that's that. Time to shake off the dust, and move on. There are 6 more very important games to win before the Conference Championship. I'm sad the Ducks lost but I'm proud of the way they played and took it to the Huskies. This is no time to 2nd guess people or decisions. Bring on Wazzou.
  7. 38-20 Oregon 2 TD's Passing 1 TO 250 yds passing
  8. I don't recommend this to anyone but when I get really nervous and concerned about a huge road game, I've been known not to watch it Live, but catch the recording, if possible, after I already know the final score. I've done that more than once. When watching the recording, even knowing the Ducks lost, I can do so with a critical eye and a calm disposition. If they've won the big game, I really enjoy it, again with a cooler disposition and an eye for more detail. If it's a really big game and it's in Autzen, I always watch it Live if I can - no matter how nervous or concerned I am. At least the fans are on my side. No medication (or lubrication) necessary in any case.
  9. That's a pretty confident sounding bunch all right. Going to be fun listening to the silence Sunday morning coming out of Seattle.
  10. My advice to you would be to be careful while wearing Duck gear in Seattle This is a very heated rivalry and UW fans are well known to be nasty to visitors in Duck gear. Definitely sit with other Ducks if you can and don't be drawn into any back & forth with Husky fans. They won't care if you're from Canada. Each year this rivalry seems to be heating up more. Enjoy the game and have fun! Just be careful. Go Ducks!
  11. I could tell a true story about Rick Neuheisel that would absolutely confirm the statement you just made above. However, I have made a promise to Charles that I would keep things civil and think twice before I post such things here. But I absolutely share your opinion of the man based on my personal interaction with him. He's everything you think he is, impo. Which means he's not someone to be concerned with. Let's not let him ruin our cheer and hope for a great outcome tomorrow. Go Ducks!
  12. I see Odds Shark, which has the Dawgs -3, has the over/under at 66. That's not many points for two supposedly hi-power offenses; especially with the Ducks averaging over 50/game and the Huskies 46. This is puzzling because at -3, this presupposes the Huskies are going to (somehow) hold the Ducks to under 32 or there abouts... and score at least 34 themselves. I'd like to know how they're supposed to do that when they could only score 31 against AZ and gave up 32 to Cal. Another reason why bettors should beware if they trust the oddsmakers for anything accurate.
  13. You may be right about Lanning's tendency to defer. Plus, there's the risk you take the ball 1st and they end up stopping you on that first possession adding even more to the fan's enthusiasm. But if you do score on that first possession, you're ahead and the race is on. Can they keep up with Oregon once they get behind?
  14. I know many people like to see their team defer the KO (if they win the toss) and try to 'steal' an extra possession at the end of the 1st Half. But in this case I agree with you. An early score, if the Ducks can manage it, would go a long way to settling down the crowd and putting pressure on the UW Offense.
  15. I also think Bo will need to run to help the Ducks win this game. After watching Adam Breneman's interview with Will Stein (posted by Kirklandduck) I'd agree with this. Stein clearly stated in that interview that he trusted the most experienced QB in CFB, whose strength lies in reading & understanding defenses, to change up the plays based on what he sees UW doing. He might not run early as he takes time to figure things out. I also share your concern about his getting hurt. I wouldn't put anything past UW players to win this game and I'm still not certain Kalen DeBoer has his players under control in this regard.
  16. Annie: mom always taught us to notice the details. That's a cool picture/poster on the the shelf over Maggie's left shoulder.
  17. This was a very good interview that gives us a great insight to just why Dan Laying picked this fine young man to head the Offense. I really liked his answers to the questions and how refreshing it was to not just hear the same old cliche' speech lines that we hear all too often in today's interviews. If this guy is this good at this young of an age imagine how good he's going to be after a couple more seasons here at Oregon.
  18. Wait...Will said that as soon as Lanning asked him to be a duck he "jumped right in the boat"! Ducks don't need boats, ducks can swim, dive and snorkel with the best of them. Well, he can be forgiven, he wasn't a Duck yet, not till he got here!
  19. No, but you will see them on the feet of my nephew who lives in St. Paul, MN. Don't ask me why he loves the Ducks so much but he does. His dad is Mn born and so is he. But (lucky for him) his mother was born in Coos 'Bay.
  20. Your "poor Dawgs"? !! I think I detect a little bit of scally-wagging going on here. There are about 132 other CFB teams wishing they were as "poor" as your Dawgs!
  21. Think we'll see an apology from McAffee towards WSU? No, me neither. I bet Lee Corso still goes with The Duck.
  22. I'd only worry if the Huskies fans were complementary. Then I'd fear they actually had some sense.
  23. I wonder how many of the fellows here got your inference?
  24. Here's a tip for Anthony. Back in my HS days it was fashionable for us to have long hair - the "original" long-hair generation. Once on a road trip to McMinnville for a swim meet our swimming coach took 5 of us up to the meet in a beautiful Buick convertible. On the way to the meet he asked us to conduct this experiment: he had 2 - 14" long wooden dowel rods, one with a bare round ball at the end, the other exactly like it but with a bunch of long streamers attached to the ball at the end. We were each told to hold first the bare-ball dowel rod in the wind as he drove up old 99 at about 35 mph and then the other. We all tried it, twice. That was all we needed from coach to understand why swimmers don't need to be wearing their hair 4" below the collar. If Anthony were to conduct this same experiment he too would learn why a short-distance sprinter like himself needs to change his hair style. This is no knock on Anthony Fast Horse, and Good Gosh Bless him for choosing the Ducks as his college and track program. I expect he probably already knows this - certainly his coaches do. He's a great photo-op with that 'do, but that much hair could be the difference between a possible World Record and finishing 8th or last. Welcome to Oregon Anthony Fast Horse! May you have a great career here and meet or exceed all your hope and expectations.
