MBB: Players Returning Next Season
Pennsylvania Duck replied to Mudslide's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Nate Bittle commits to returning to Oregon next year, Soares will decide after the season "I am staying 100 percent," Bittle said after a tough 75-56 loss to the Bruins. "I am not going anywhere. I believe in this coaching staff, I am committed to this team. I have both feet in." Bittle started 19 of the 24 games he played this season for the Ducks. He saw big jumps in minutes played per game (7 minutes to 17 minutes), his scoring average jumped almost three times from last year (1.7 ppg to 6.3 ppg), and he improved his 3-point shooting percentage by more than 10 percent from last year. Bittle credited his growth this season to his teammates and coaches having the trust in him to make the plays needed. "It helps my confidence and everything like that," Bittle said. " I am ready to get back into the lab. This summer is going to be a big opportunity." MBB Recap: Ducks falter late in 19-point loss to UCLA Bruins For the second straight year, it appears that the Oregon Ducks will not get an invite to the big dance. Jaime Jaquez and Tyger Campbell led the way for UCLA, blowing the game wide open late in the second half and taking the life out of the Ducks. It was a frustrating way for the game to end, and it caps off an extremely frustrating year. Here’s how it all went down. Oregon struggles to hang with UCLA and gets blown out For just the third time in Dana Altman's 13 years as head coach of the Oregon Ducks a team has beaten Oregon three times in one season. For Oregon, it came in a game they absolutely needed to get to ensure a spot in the NCAA Tournament field next year. With the loss in the Pac-12 Semifinals, the Ducks are knocked out of the Pac-12 Tournament with a 19-14 overall record. Oregon is likely unable to get into the NCAA Tournament with the loss. The Ducks had their moments in the game having the lead in both the first and the second half, but a cold shooting performance in the second half kept the Ducks from being able to keep pace with the Pac-12 regular season champion. Oregon went over five minutes of game time in the final minutes of the second half without a field goal and made just ten total field goals in the second half. Oregon begins conference play with victory over UCLA; Owen Diodati connects on first homer of the season PK Park and the Oregon Ducks (9-3, 1-0) hosted their toughest test of the season, beginning Pac-12 play against No. 16 UCLA (10-3, 0-1) in a three-game series. Friday marked game one of the series, as the Ducks pulled away thanks to the long ball, coming out ahead 6-2 in an ideal start to the weekend. “I saw good pitching and clean baseball,” said head coach Mark Wasikowski after the game. “I thought we played a well rounded game, and we played good defense, timely hitting, moved the ball around the field. That first run was just really good situational hitting and then we had a couple big swings. The swings, off that guy, probably the most impressive thing were the best swings were all to the middle or opposite field.” Oregon begins conference play with victory over UCLA; Owen Diodati connects on first homer of the season 247SPORTS.COM PK Park and the Oregon Ducks (9-3, 1-0) hosted their toughest test of the season, beginning Pac-12 play against No. 16 UCLA (10-3...
