I just listened to a Locked On Ducks Podcast and I have to agree with the commentator. He mentioned how Lanning has mentioned in the past about his "Rolodex of Potentials." I suspect the replacement is on his Rolodex and probably not in the articles. How many had Will Stein or Chris Hampton on their lists? The podcast brought up another good point. Other programs go to relevant programs to look for replacements, it means your program is doing well and replacements will want to come to Oregon. That is a lot better than the other way, where no one wants to elevate your coaches.

Oregon Football Signee Spotlight: Wide Receiver Jurrion Dickey Jurrion Dickey is the headliner of Dan Lanning's 2023 recruiting class and should have a big-time impact in Eugene. Dickey is as physical a receiver as you'll find in the high school ranks. The great thing about him is that he doesn't have to sacrifice fundamentals or technique. He's a strong route runner that has great lateral quickness and change of direction, which not only helps him get separation but also make plays after the catch. He's elite when it comes to high-pointing 50/50 balls, using supreme athleticism to win one-on-one matchups. Click here to read this Max Torres article from Ducks Digest.

If you haven't read this John Conzano article which was posted on another thread earlier this month, I recommend you read it. The whole article deals with a potential media deal, but the second half deals with exactly what we are talking about here, streaming vs traditional tv. He offers some interesting comments and numbers to back up his point. -
This Duck team has dug themselves a hole, can they pull themselves out? Monday brought a new Associated Press poll, and for the first time in six years, the Ducks failed to receive a single vote. That's the result of stacking losses. The Ducks entered the New Year as a candidate to host opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament. Barring a perfect conclusion to the regular season and Pac-12 Tournament win, that's off the table. How does Adrian Klemm's departure impact the Ducks in both short term and long term? There are two ways to look at the timing of this announcement: in a positive light or a negative light. Let’s start with the negative first. So while Klemm left Oregon to go to New England in the middle of their hiring process, it now leaves the Ducks with a vacancy at the OL coaching position with very few candidates available to fill the spot. Will players want to transfer because of Klemm leaving? Fortunately for the Ducks, this move is taking place in a time period where the transfer portal is not open, and if players did want to leave Eugene to find another team, or another coach to play for, they won’t be able to do so until May 1. That may buy the Ducks some time to be able to make a hire and recruit some of their players to stay. Opinion: Ducks' coaching turnover is not a sign of poor hiring — it's the opposite This is the world of college football right now, and if you’re a good, nationally relevant team that is succeeding on the field and putting players into the NFL, then you are going to have to deal with coaches eventually leaving. Position coaches will jump to become coordinators; coordinators will jump to become head coaches; sometimes head coaches will jump to the NFL. It’s how the system works in college football. Alabama deals with this, as does Georgia, as does Ohio State. And if you listen to what he says, this is what Dan Lanning wants as well. He has stated multiple times over the past year that he is always encouraging of his coaches going on to take bigger and better jobs. He works hard to foster an environment where coaches can work under him, learn a lot, succeed, and move on. That’s how Kirby Smart was with him at Georgia, and that’s how he’s going to be with his coaches at Oregon. Oregon Football: Why Adrian Klemm’s departure isn’t bad news for Ducks DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Dan Lanning is tasked with making yet another coaching hire this offseason. While fans may be frustrated, it’s a trend that will...

On these new tvs, are you able to switch between apps and regular tv pretty quickly/easily? I have an older tv, probably about the age of your old one. I have a firestick. It is such a hassle to get into an app, then if I wanted to check on something on broadcast tv, often times I just don't go back to the app. Also, I never pause because of the syncing issue! BTW, I have Verizon Fios. Had Comcast, but their service was horrible! -

Oregon's Bucky Irving named one of best returning running backs in country for 2023 Bucky Irving was a nightmare for opposing defenders to bring down, bouncing off tackles and finding the exact right cutback lane to turn 4-yard runs into 20-yard runs and constantly producing when his number was called. He finished third among Pac-12 players in rushing yardage and fourth among qualified Pac-12 players in rushing efficiency. And he’ll be back for more in 2023. Report: Oregon OL coach Adrian Klemm leaving Ducks to join New England Patriots staff For the third time since the end of the 2022 regular season, one of Dan Lanning’s key assistant coaches is departing the Oregon program. Adrian Klemm, who served as the Ducks’ associate head coach and offensive line coach in 2022, will leave Lanning’s staff to join the New England Patriots, according to a report from Pete Thamel of ESPN. Klemm interviewed last month to become New England’s offensive coordinator. The franchise ultimately opted to hire former Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien in that role but circled back to add Klemm this week. The transfer portal is closed. The next recruiting signing day is over 11 months away. The transfer portal is quiet for the time being — players already in the portal can commit to new teams, but no new players can enter — while players around the nation prepare to try and cement a spot on the depth chart in March and April. After that, you can expect more players to enter the portal, and there will likely be some new additions in Eugene. Where might we see those additions come on the field, though? Let’s take a look at the scholarship players on the roster, position by position, to try and highlight the biggest areas of need still remaining for the Ducks. Are you in agreement with the assessment in this article or do you see needs elsewhere? Mario Cristobal loses another coordinator: Is Miami HC the next Scott Frost? The former Miami offensive lineman achieved great success previously leading the Oregon Ducks. Though College Football Playoff berths evaded him in Eugene, Oregon went to Rose Bowls and competed for Pac-12 Championships under his guidance. However, he went 5-7 at his alma mater in year one, had to fire offensive coordinator Josh Gattis and just saw Steele walk for a better job. We are years away from Cristobal turning into Frost, but things are getting a bit chilly in Miami. It sounds absolutely absurd to say this, but could Cristobal be on the hot seat in year two already? This article is from Miami football site...I think some are starting to see through the Mario antics. Mario Cristobal loses another coordinator: Is Miami HC the next Scott Frost? High-Scoring Shootout Goes To Utes Oregon had one of its best offensive performances of the season in Pac-12 play but lost 100-92 to Utah on Sunday. Ducks can't keep up with firing-on-all-cylinder Utes The visiting Utah Utes missed just seven shots in the middle two quarters on Sunday of what became an offensive masterclass on par with some of the heights of the Sabrina Ionescu era in Eugene. Seventh-ranked Utah proved too much, becoming the first squad to score 100 points on a Kelly Graves coached Oregon team and posting the best opposing field goal percentage (62.3 percent) of the Graves era too. The Ducks fought for all four quarters, and led several times in the second half, before falling 100-92 for their fifth loss in six games. VAN KLINKEN, WILLIAMS ON MID-INDOOR WATCH LISTS THE BOWERMAN IS PRESENTED ANNUALLY TO THE TOP MEN’S AND WOMEN’S PERFORMERS IN COLLEGIATE TRACK AND FIELD. Van Klinken, a two-time semifinalist for the award, owns the nation's top mark in the shot put with her 18.55m/60-10.5 effort at the Texas Tech Open (Jan. 28). That measure also improved the school record she first set at the season-opening Cougar Classic. There have been four throws over 18 meters in the NCAA this year, and Van Klinken, the reigning NCAA indoor champ, has them all. In his last outing, Williams ran a world-leading 6.49 to win the 60 meters at the Texas Tech Open (Jan. 27). The time marked the fifth sub-6.50 performance of his career, and is just .01 off his lifetime best (6.48) which makes him the No. 6 performer in collegiate history. The Portland, Ore., native also has a pair of 6.54 times this season. Williams was the 2021 NCAA champion in the event. Oregon basketball slides up in KenPom and NET rankings following win over ASU In a season marred with injuries and disappointing results, Oregon's play has been turning some corners in the last few weeks. Oregon has won five of its previous seven games, including a home sweep of the mountain schools (Colorado and Utah) and a split of the Arizona schools on the road this weekend. The loss to No. 5 Arizona won't likely affect the Ducks' chances of making the tournament, but a win over Arizona State just may. After the win, Oregon moved to No. 52 in the KenPom Power Ratings, moving up from No. 59. Oregon, immediately after the game, was ranked No. 54. However, with the handful of games still finishing on the west coast, Oregon jumped the extra two spots.
