Transfer Portal: Players of Interest
Pennsylvania Duck replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Former Texas A&M DL Anthony Lucas could be target for Ducks in transfer portal One of the biggest needs that the Oregon Ducks have to fill in the offseason is on the defensive line, and it’s been expected that Dan Lanning and his staff would work hard to find a plug-and-play player in the transfer portal. Former Texas A&M DL Anthony Lucas, a true freshman in 2022, announced that he would enter the portal. Lucas is a former 4-star recruit who was rated by 247Sports as the No. 32 player in the 2022 class, and No. 8 DL in the nation. The Ducks recruited Lucas hard down the stretch, and were arguably in the running to land him before he ultimately chose to sign with the Aggies. We will see if Lanning and defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi choose to try and land him out of the portal this time around. What Oregon Can Learn From the CFP
Pennsylvania Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Enjoyed your article, Joshua. I can't wait to see a healthy Bo Nix operate the offense next season. We should be very good on that side of the ball. The defense comes a little slower. If we could have incremental improvements in needed areas, the team could be very good. -

Pennsylvania Duck replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Ok, now I understand the confusion about the All-American Bowl. There are actually 2 All-American Games/Bowls. It is explained in article below... The first game — Under Armour’s NEXT All-American Game — takes place on Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. PT on ESPN. The second high school showcase — the All-American Bowl — will take place on Saturday, January 7, at 10 a.m. PT on NBC. Here are the 9 Ducks who will be playing in the All-American games this week, and how you can watch them: Oregon Football: 8 Duck signees to play on national TV this week DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Duck fans will get a couple of chances to see some of the best Oregon signees in the 2023 class play on national TV this week. -
I was not speaking about this thread. The original post you are referencing is about KJ Bolden in the thread 2024 Football Recruits...Annnouncements, Updates. That is the thread you should avoid if you are bothered by such announcements/articles as that is where the posting bothering you is located. Since we are still early in the 2024 process for many recruits, you will undoubtedly see posts like that again. On OBDF, we post many different topics. It's your choice what you read. Don't like it, just skip it.

No, I don't think you get the process. The process starts publicly when the player decides to announce his choices or an article is written about it. It could be 15, 10, 5, or 2 schools. In this instance, a quality 5* player will have more choices than lesser stars. I find your second question rather demeaning, as that is not what the posting was. If this bothers you so much, don't read the thread.

Social Media Buzz: Oregon fans react to epic Cotton Bowl loss for USC Trojans Lincoln Riley is now 1-4 in is career coaching bowl games, and the Trojans will have a bitter pill to swallow defensively over the offseason. I think some of you are being rather short sighted. If there is one thing I have learned about recruiting since I started posting at FishDuck is that it is a process, sometimes taking the whole year or longer, up to the final signing day. Look at where we are with the final few good recruits for 2023 who are still unsigned. The Ducks want in on the action with these 4* and 5* players, as noted on another thread (Top Remaining Target LOI Recruits for Oregon). The process/relationships for these guys starts early. The terrific signings we got for the 2023 class in December just didn't happen overnight. BTW, KJ Bolden is a 5* safety during his junior year of high school. Did you know that there are only 11 players with this designation on Rivals currently in the 2024 class? He is a pretty special player and don't think Lanning wouldn't want a safety like him on the team! I know we're not done with 2023 recruiting, but like it or not, we are in the midst of 2024 recruiting and the Ducks have already received 4 commits! Note that visitors on campus now are class of 2024 or beyond. If you're only interested in the signings and not the process, simply skip the thread on 2024 Recruiting as most of the posts will be about who the Ducks are recruiting.

On New Year’s Day, 5-star safety KJ Bolden, the No. 2 ranked player in the 2024 class, narrowed down his recruitment to 15 schools, keeping the Ducks in the mix along with the big-time players like Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, USC, and many others. USC Women’s Basketball Takes 73-45 Loss At No. 17 Oregon (Article from Trojan site) The USC women's basketball team couldn't keep pace with No. 17 Oregon on the Ducks' home turf, falling 73-45 in a tough day on the road for the Trojans. Both teams hit four 3-pointers apiece in the first half, but it was Oregon's 44-percent scoring pace that kept the Ducks out ahead of the Trojans, who shot just 23.5 percent in those first 20 minutes to trail it 41-22 at halftime. USC was unable to crank it up in the second half while the Ducks stayed the course, as the Trojans finished up shooting a season-low 23 percent from the floor. Oregon wrapped the game shooting 43.5 percent, and had the edge on the boards 43-41.
